I just wanted to update this post by saying a lot of people are hoping this motorized unit does a lot more than it's capable of, which is probably why the price is so low. Check this out! th-cam.com/video/iGwkND2lOdk/w-d-xo.html I know it's not exactly the most budget friendly alternative but this and any of the DJI Osmo Pocket series cameras have most of the tracking features we're all looking for.

The tilt needs resistance. An extended weight behind the camera will keep pressure on the geags keeping out slop and chatter.

This may be just what I've been looking for... I have a tripod that will raise my camera 94 in. up, and it is very hard to adjust the camera positioning from that height... I can adjust the camera settings from my phone and view the composition from my phone, but actually aiming the camera is impossible, or very hard at least. This would seem to make that easy... When I built a DIY astro tracker for the 2017 eclipse out of scrap wood and a door hinge, morning of the event I used a rubber band to maintain tension from the lens to the mount, to avoid that "jump" when the rig tilted past the balance point due to the gear lash (visible in this video).
