- Downhill riding with three Red Bull Hardline winners is the most insane experience. These are the fastest MTB riders in the world and training with them before Tasmania has made the biggest difference to my downhill speed. The POV follow cams are insane following Jackson Goldstone, Ronan Dunne and Bernard Kerr. Who is your money on?

I love how you're all in training for the same event next weekend, where you'll be competing against each other, but everyone is still so willing to help each other, give advice, give encouragement. True sportsmanship, right there.
They're exhibition races, would be quite a different vibe if the was UCI Downhill championships.
But this is also why these vlogs are sick, especially all these pros in Queenstown popping in in each other's vlogs

No trying to overstate, but best mtb video ever? Getting tips from pros on the lines really opens it up. As an SCCA driver, lines are everything, and to see it DH style was super cool. Great content, Matt. Blessings to you all!!
The best part is all these top level guys who are competing against each other, spend a ton of time training and pushing each other to get faster.

Thanks for bringing the proper coverage from down under, proper good stuff. You're DH has improved loads, Theo wasn't lying, you were flying Matt, just as Bernard said, follow others and look at their lines, can't wait until next week in Taz. One favour though, maybe take it a bit easier on Ronan before you cause him to do something even madder than usual.
Fabulous video. It's great to see and hear the little nuances between riders and how setup is important. It's great to hear Bernard critiquing Matts riding and suggesting changes.

I actually find the rear cam commentary super interesting, especially when they're taking it easy and keeping together, you can see the difference from whoever is in front of mat, and him, then the chase perspective, and how the correct line sets up the next and the next, or carries speed, or hops a route section etc. Ive no doubt this will be hugely useful to Matt, and all of us watching.
Last section of last run looked strong. 4 more videos to goooo what a treat for my evening.
I know QT is the goat, but if you want the tackiest, best dirt in the country, Rotorua after a little rain can't be beat. Honestly, it's the best dirt your tyres will see. No skating on marbles, or dust over hard pack. It's just grip for days. Would love to see you guys hit it here next time!

What im so excited about to see is Matt go from slope style to bmx to now downhill racing with World Cup racers. The level of achievement is insane.. Be proud Matt not a lot of people can say I’ve done that!!!
Really is crazy, DH is so much different than every other discipline, to see him at least be able to hang with the best is quite an accomplishment.

Also the fact that Matt isn’t afraid to be the novice in a group - a lot of content creators would be too scared to ride with ronan and Jackson goldstone because of fear of looking bad. Really admirable from Matt on his own channel.

Matt there was a huge improvement with your body movement and positioning from the run with BK following to the run with Theo.
Less focus on trying to keep your feet on the pedals and muscle the bike, more control and flow. Great stuff!

Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks or lines... riding with the fastest guys in the MTB world will definitely push you. Think the new bike set-up helps a lot. Think you're going to turn a lot of heads in the next couple of months coming from your slope style world to this chaos flying down the hill.

That was something I noticed in the follow cams earlier with Theo. Matt looks like he's PINCHING his frame/seat like he's riding moto or setting up for a sui. And the back end is absolutely pinging everywhere.
The top DH guys tend to allow their legs to flare out a bit and naturally act as extra suspension to let the bike do the work. Matt is used to literal hardtails on terrain where control and precision is key. But with the DH bike you gotta let er eat... Open up the limbs/body, and let the bike tackle the chop while you are just focusing on line choice on the track ahead.
