@@Decksdirect so I guess it's still a selling point that it only broke when a big rock was thrown hard at it?
I was also wondering if the reason it broke was because of all the times you hit it leading up to the large rock that did it. Would be interesting to see if you had hit it 1st with a large rock, would it have broken immediately?
I'm actually thinking that when we have a deck built this year to choose a glass insert instead of wrungs so we don't block any view to our flower garden directly up to the deck.
I saw one place that had glass panels maybe a foot wide at most with probably no more than 3 inches apart

We're not sure if it would have broken if we had started out with the giant rocks rather than the smaller items, however, we were hoping to illustrate that the common weather and backyard elements (such as hail, small pebbles, gravel, etc.) will not be an issue for the glass panels. The one thing that we have noticed over the years of selling glass panels and working with manufacturers is that it's not generally the size of the item, but rather any pointed edges or tips that can cause damage.

Is the glass or cable more cost effective? We have a view we don't want to block, but I'm trying not to spend a fortune. Then again you have the narrow glass too.
We love our glass railing. Had it for 6 years. Then today, one of our 1/2” pan spontaneously exploded. Apparently manufacturing flaw. Sadly, even though it’s a defect, there is no warranty and it takes 4 weeks to replace

The Fortress Pure View glass panels are tempered for increased strength and resistance. Also, you're correct; the glass panels do measure 1/4 inch (6 mm) in thickness.
