The game looks like it has awesome crash physics, the theme of the game should have encouraged you to smash cars and destroy them during the race and gain point damage. Codemasters wasted a good physics engine by calling out penalties FOR crashing cars.
you're crazy ! Forza 4 is the best sim I've ever played, and Horizon is semi-arcade based on Forza 4's engine I've had a lot of fun with that game too.

I hope they go back and do a new one since it seem so hard for the other developers out there to make it happen. Maybe you should try just getting a motorbike game, that sure do feel alot funnier to drive than the car games. There is the new Moto GP 13 out now you can get a demo on steam.
Thats because they are being truthful about the games they talk about and not being paid under the table to give games that are clearly commercial flops stupidly high scores. (Like was happenes with IGN)

Have to disagree with this review. Pretty disappointing on PC. The graphics are awesome, but the cars handle like garbage (and I like arcade racers like NFS). The way the career mode is done doesn't feel like there is any real progression and the storyline with the youtubube racing league was pretty lame, and the way of using fans for currency by reaching milestones to unlock stuff doesn't work well at all. The classic money system is better. The AI is horrible with the extreme rubber banding. This is a huge turn off for me. very annoying how AI cars are so much heavier so you bounce off them like pinball when they just keep their line. No tuning, or upgrades available for the vehicles. At least Grid 1 had a better career mode layout and the handling was a much better balance between arcade and simulator. It's almost like an arcade racer trying to pass itself off as a sim as it lacks a lot of the fun stuff of arcade racers. Maybe I can get into this if I put in a few more hours... I was a big fan of the original Grid though.
@Zues ive heard horizon 3 runs pretty unoptimized on PC. 4 might be better. Horizon games are pretty casual friendly but i feel they can become kinda repetative. There is the crew 2 which lacks alot of the solidness and polish of the horizon games but can be fun and i think is on sale at the moment. Its pretty arcadey and has alot to work towards but its not too competant as it could have been. I say stay away from the modern nfs games due to them having some of the most annoying physics currently and being just overall broken. Hp2010 and undercover are some pretty good nfs games available (that you can buy at least) that are casual but still pretty fun. Games like burnout, and split/second are pretty destruction based racers which may feel unfair being crashed out at times but they are very arcadey and can be fun to cause destruction and take shortcuts. A problem is that alot of the best racing games cannot be purchased anymore because of expired licences. And theres alot less racers coming out currently compared to the 2010s and the 2000s.
Just saw the review and Im shocked on two accounts. 1st: They gave a perfect ten to a non-Call opf Duty or Battlefield game. 2nd: They IGN quite possibly the most Xbox centric game forum in the world gave a high score to a Playstation exclusive.

Dont buy this game if you don't like over acadey handing(drifting corners is faster, which makes ''truefeel'' marketing pure bullshit),no cockpit view, no car horns, no steering saturation/deadzone settings for unsupported controllers, no textchat options in multiplayer, limited youtube upload capabilities (low res, short) stripped/limited rewind mechanic that doesnt let you finetune the precise point of rewind anymore.
Shit game you barely have control over the car its ridiculously nothing like how you'd drive in real life. I have nothing against the review, it's really Excellent I'm just disappointed by this game!
