I will be watching this several more times, much for the same reason as Luke. Even for us more experienced old farts, this info is golden!! Thanks Dan!

I must have watched this video 10 times by now! I feel like I learn something every time I watch it! Great video, would love to see more like this..... I recently bought an airbrush and was wondering if you do any airbrush techniques on your weathering DVD's? If so which volume has a better demonstration of airbrush techniques?
    Cheers
    Luke.

Moloco a toy train car? Hardly. They are beautiful scale models. But the weathering adds to the realism depending on how long the car has been in service.

I have several of these insulated boxcars, with the same door as the one you are weathering. They looked to me like they swung open, like a tractor trailer van. Am I wrong? I don't want to weather a sliding door scrape, if they swing open! Great video, thanks!

My bad! Found images of the door, and now I see it does slide!

Great video guy. I know it's a bit older but it's the best I found so far. Question. What do you use for a dull coat? Is it just some thinned out flat white or something like flat base past?

Dan, a quick question. Before proceeding with the brown Acrylic overspray, do you let the oil wash thoroughly dry? This is not mentioned on the DVD either, so I figured to clear that up here. Thanks!

Hi John I just saw this. The answer is yes. You should always let your layers dry before proceeding to the next layer!

How did you match the paint for the area that was exposed when you removed the cast on grab irons?

AAR Car Code 1955 "all roof walks on rolling stock from this day forward are illegal except on cars transporting bulk cargo" (well cars, auto racks, tank cars, covered hoppers, and MOW equipment) if you have a boxcar that was made after 1955 GET RID OF THE ROOF WALK! roof walks are illegal they can get people killed and they are not on modern railroads.
