- The repair of a running crack on an archtop requires a nearly impossible to place cleat on the inside of the guitar. A 10 string, a magnet and some wood scraps and an old tuner and you are good to go. Meet the #californiajunkpile.

How do you know that the patch sat perpendicular to the crack? I'm messing with a system almost identical to this, and that is my quandary ....
