Peter Svidler is living a dream. He's been playing chess since he was six, studying under the Soviet education system. He has extraordinary linguistic talent. He plays chess for a living and deals with bright, interesting people every day. Things could be worse.
Sorry to be complaining in my other comment. Peter's videos are always a real treat; I watch them all the way through. It's an invitation into a very clear thinking mind, engaged in playing chess.
If Peter ever works out how to spot what he hates before it happens, and believe in his own ludicrously high prowess, he'd break 2900 without issue. I've never seen anyone crush their opponent so easily whilst simultaneously despising most of their own moves. You're top 20 Mr Svidler, Broad 8-15 levels of greatness. Trust the process.
It's annoying to watch Peter not making use of premoving. When you're low on time at least premove the most obvious captures! (e.g the endgame against Toastbrot)
@1:47, "much better" is not an overstatement because it looks like Svidler missed Qc5 attacking the bishop @c4 and playing e5 winning the pinned knight next. unless someone can find a refutation? Svidler played Rd8 quickly in the game missing his chance.
Jason McKinney You always give the seconds of the video so that we can find it quickly, therefore 1:47 is 1 minute 47 seconds in. 1:47:00 would be 1 hour 47 minutes 0 seconds, I presume that's what you meant?
Victoria was surely using an engine. Unless he/she dropped 1000 rating points just for this game. And used the same amount of time on each move until time trouble for some reason. Also it's frustrating watching Peter premove, then make another move cancelling that premove, then after the more recent move is played exclaim "I don't understand" when it was obvious you can't queue premoves. Jesus man it's frustrating watching you lose on time in totally won positions. Much love though these bb's are great and you are a great commentator. Premoves don't queue, wait for the premove to be made before clicking anything!
hey, who do you guys like to watch play chess online. i watch Kingscrusher, IM Fins (John B), GM Eric Hansen and of course Jan and Polborta whenever possible.
kiraleskirales its a word used in billiard game in russian language. the word means "half the cushion" (polborta) and describe the situation in billiard when you attempt to pot a ball into a pocket, but you make a horrible shot and miss the pot "by a mile"... (by half the cushion) I hope you understand it :-)

I'm 32. You checkmating Trent was the highlight of my adult life.

I love Peter Svidler he is the best ever! Chess24 is lucky to recruit him.
The fact that Peter's knowledge is so vast in cricket, he'll always be accepted in India!!
Victoria cheated him with engine. But lost on time.

I would love to see some increment games in future banter blitz sessions, I think it would increase the quality of the endgame play
1:24:00 and 1:52:19 interesting f3 grunfeld variation

more annoying is that his opponents use premoves when being aware Swidler isn't
good position 99.9 percent of the time
1:54:30 Peter cool as ice in a matter of seconds baby lol
At 1:20:42 I'm pretty sure he missed Nxf7. Kh7. Ng5.
@ 25:00. The infamous Trent matchup.....
strange that Peter learns no better timemanagement and more efficient premoving
nur-fuer u-Tube well he is a top grandmaster...

Jason McKinney There wasn't a game at 1:47 so quite hard to find a refutation...
Harry Grieve ?

why is svidler so goddamn sexy?
Peter you should really get some blitz/bullet tips from nakamura.
Thanks for doing these, I really enjoy this series.
bullet chess is shit, who remembers a bullet game or speed? lol you ever see the Best games of bullet or speed lol
Yes, I watched a long vid of nakamura playing bullet. His bullet is better than a lot of gms blitz.
MVL is also pretty good.
Authentic nature of chess doesn't have any bullet or blitz concept...
I think peter can improve bullet by himself, he just dont care
I kept hearing "Anish." Does Giri have a variation named for him? Then I realized it was "Jaenisch."
4:27 D5-D7... Why did u not do that?

Whenever Peter loses on time in another completely winning position, it feels like I'm losing on time. The butthurt is real.

check out 'Ginger GM' very entertaining!!
Victoria played weird chess
Don't understand why people play without an increment. Great video though,
Live chat degrades the quality of the video in the post-game TH-cam context -- it's just a lot of distraction that is out of context.
plis a banter with chucky !!
Svidler only plays high rated players, the other Banter players play against anyone no matter the rating...
Wofford Wolf yes,but he's way stronger than any other Bunter Blitz player on here, top 10-15 player in the world for 20 years.
Wofford Wolf I can't imagine him playing 1900 players
A IM is still strong enough to only play against higher players, but they still allow lower players to play them.
He did play a couple of sub-2000 players... How low do you expect him to go?
what polborta means
It's a billiard term meaning 'not even close' or 'way off the mark'.
loopular ohh thanks man
1:07:30 im 1200 and see Ne4
Someone could explain me too the meaning of his username?

Yes indeed it's quite suggestive and very much in his style.
Thank you.
kiraleskirales you are welcome!
