My ASMR story: Corey from New Orleans, Louisiana USA -- I used to work retail management a while back and sometimes I'd work overnight shifts. To decompress when I got home from overnights I'd watch Bob Ross painting videos and have a strong beer or mixed drink before going to bed. I had no idea what ASMR was until I mentioned liking Ross's videos on Twitter. Someone suggested I google ASMR and the first official ASMR video I watched was a WhisperAudios makeup video. I loved it. I still watch her videos regularly. Since then I've subscribed to a handful of channels including yours and hers. I tend to watch videos before I go to bed or as I'm working (I do a lot of photo editing for photography) at my computer. Cheers, Ben. I hope this helps.

The ASMR Gamer Oh and Ben, I found ASMR because I was being fat and loved Jelly beans. So me being hungry clicked a "Jelly Bean ASMR" by Wronski ASMR and i was so relaxed, and started to click related videos. Im from US, and I prefer mouth sounds and spray bottle sounds. I like glass tapping too.
I actually discovered asmr a few years ago when i watched a video of troey sivan and tyler oakley reacting to it. I looked it up and found myself really enjoying it. I watch asmr almost every day. Sometimes i just watch it for fun and sometimes just because i have trouble falling asleep, I've also discovered that listening to asmr helps me focus when I'm doing homework. My absolute favorite videos are close up whispering and tapping. My favorite asmrtist is The ASMR Gamer, don't know if you've heard of him😄. /Julia, Finland

Found ASMR looking for crackling fire sounds to fall asleep to. Lol, always enjoyed those! The first ASMRtist I found was VeniVidiVulpes and I immediately fell in love with the whole concept. Found many people I liked, now I have a pretty big playlist to choose from when I need some sleep aid. :) Found you last year and have been a huge fan ever since! Hey! I'm Catríona from Ireland. I'm 19. I discovered asmr maybe 3 years ago or so. I was watching a makeup video and a makeup roleplay by 'ASMRequest' showed up on the side bar. I loved it. I don't actually experience tingles very often but it chills me out before bed. It was particularly helpful during my A-levels last year as you also know the stress and pressure you are under. My favourite ASMR creators are Raffy Taffy, yourself, softlygaloshes, Rayysmr and ASMRDarling. Asmr is now as much of my nightly routine like brushing my teeth. Looking forward to your project

With my anxiety and insomnia I needed to find something to help. So I originally looked up noise maker apps. One had a keyboard sound that I found gave me tingles and made me fall asleep crazy fast. I then decided maybe TH-cam would have it (TH-cam has everything haha) and originally found ASMR with an ASMR intro video from MegInWhispers I was hooked. After watching her every night for weeks,and researching ASMR theories online, I evemtually found so many other channels and have used ASMR to help whenever I need it most. So thank you for being a part of my "therapy".

I love this video
well, I discovered ASMR from watching Bob Ross videos (an American Painter), his soothing voice always made me drowsy. Later in the recomended I learned about ASMR with this girl who explained everything (forgot her name) I stuck with Heather Feather until I stumbled upon the ASMR Gamer and I've been a fan ever since (going on 3yrs or so) I prefer whispers rather than sounds and even tho I am not a gamer Bens whisper is my favorite and with the constant uploads I currently listen to him only. I even have an ASMR Gamer play list where I saved my fave vids (like Ramble with a Beer and Wolf Among Us) so thank you for your hard work Ben, its much appreciated.

I got into ASMR because I developed tinnitus in my ears at the age of 17 and have had it since then. The reason I listen to ASMR is because I need to have that soft background noise while I try and sleep because the ringing in my ears from the tinnitus is extremely loud in my ears. I'm 25 years old now and I've been listening to ASMR since about that time. My favorite types of videos are ones that are centered around whispering/soft spoken and tapping. I also find some of the role plays entertaining and helpful for sleeping because of the consistent levels of speaking throughout the duration of the video.

Also if you don't know what tinnitus is imagine the rining in your ears after a loud explosion, but that ringing never turning off. When it is super quiet is when it's at it's worst.

I discovered ASMR one evening about a year ago when I was sick of not going to bed on time. I was researching methods to help me relax and fall asleep and sort of stumbled upon ASMR. The first video I watched was with Toni Bomboni, which really soothed me and almost put me in a trance.
You're my fav ASMR "artist" :D and I'm watching this while...jk...watching from the US of A. Now I sleep very peacefully and hardly ever wake up in the middle of the night now. Sort of sad to hear about the London invite since I was there back in May and it would have been lovely to hang out.

I didn't actually understand what was happening at the time but in 3rd grade my class was cutting out papers and glueing the papers into out notebooks. My friend had finished before everyone else and he was making snipping noises while also pretending his fingers were scissors. I continuously got chills up my spine and I nearly fell asleep.
I found ASMR through Markiplier surprisingly. It was his worlds quietest lets play and I like the soft spoken quiet whispering that he did and I search for Whisper videos on TH-cam. I than found GentleWhispering and EmpheralRift. And the the after that I had found your videos after watching one of RaffyTaffys videos and turns out it was one of your most recent videos from 2 years ago. I don't regret anything

Definitely agree on Pickle Rick being the best episode so far, the rest have been a bit lacklustre for me. Game of Thrones has been incredible this season, the leaked episode was probably my favourite episode ever, so far. Can't believe how quickly the final episode has come.

I discovered ASMR via a joke video by SamKingFTW, where he did a parody, and just outta curiosity I went ahead and looked at more, starting with ear cleaning and tapping. And then slowly going into other things. The first video I watches of you, was the Mouth Eating one, i think it had like Eargasm in the thumbnail, not sure but you were wearing a blue shirt. I also listen to PJ Dreams, and of course Raffy, the king. It helps me with stress mostly, stress and sleep, just powering down and chilling out.
As for the types i like, im down for listening to anything really, apart from talking unless I watch a lot of that persons videos. I like PJ's ramble videos, and your videos where you do mouth related sounds. As for Raffy I like tapping related and such. I think each ASMRist does something unique. I started getting into ObviouslyASMR and i like his hand sounds and hand movements stuff.

I found out about asmr about a year or two ago while I was looking up a video on TH-cam about white Xbox controllers. The video you did unboxing the lunar white Xbox controller came up. I seen it said asmr and I was thinking wtf does asmr mean. So I watched the video and I was like why is this dude whispering lol. I go to his channel and find out what asmr is and what not and every since then I've been watching your videos from America

Alright...for those of you who always say "First", NOBODY CARES! Like honestly, no one cares if you're 1st, 5th, 10,996th. It doesn't matter. It's just a dumb comment that nobody cares about.
