lived there in 1986 as an au-pair - Beautiful memories - great experience during those 9 months - looking at the video I realize it has changed a lot, improved I would say
I used to travel from London Waterloo to reading and then on the bus to Farley hill as I worked on a farm there this was 1970 to 1972 reading was a great town and also Elm Park was a terrific football ground lots of love from a Fulham fan in Surrey 2023
I lived there in 2008-2010. Studied at London College of Research. Used to travel by the train to Wokingham. Walked along the riverside. This video brought lots of colourful memories of the places I had visited. Thank you.
I lived in Bracknell 2016-2017 with my family, usually had a nice weekend going to Reading via South West Train from Bracknell to Reading. Miss you, Reading.
Reading used to have an old abandoned shopping mall next to the train station where they'd put on "zombie survival" experiences. You'd get a gun and have to make your way through the place while loads of actors dressed as zombies chased after you. I think it's gone now though.
McSuperfly101 friars walk on friar street, near but not next to the station. We would walk through it when it was still a mall when I was really young, it was always creepy and empty. Turns out it is haunted, ghost tours available too!
Friars Walk is still a derelict building just wasting space. If they asked the general public what they want done with that building, I wonder what their responses would be
I have missed life in Reading dread. Shopping for clothes at Primark and for food at TESCO, Sainsbury and Aldi was just great. Unfortunately, I had to come back to Ghana due to visa restrictions. One day, I may visit again.
This is my home town. Born in Battle Hospital in the 60s. Lived in Tilehurst until I was 9. Will always have Reading in my heart. Want my ashes scattered there.
Hey there guys, I recently made a short 3 minute music video that explores the town of Reading, that i shot whilst i was in Reading during the summer holidays. It's an interesting town to say the least, and i would very much appreciate it if you tell me what you thought about the video, give some constructive criticism and feedback. Thank you!
i come to the UK in a few months time (June) i will stay in Ascot as i go to the racing Royal Ascot, i have a couple of days that i am still free anyone got recommandations for me where i should go ?
So many amazing places in the UK. For a couple of days stay, I'd say go to Windsor, it's a lovely town nearby. Go to Salisbury to see the Stonehenge, go to Canterbury to see the abbey and cathedral. If you have more days, go to Oxford, Winchester, Warwick, frankly too many towns to list, and they are all great. And of course -- London, you would need many days to explore it, but at least go see the central London with all its tourist attractions. I'm sure you will have an awesome time, enjoy!
Pedro Vilela It is a great city to live, uni and student life is nice. However it is not a big city but you have oxford and london in 30 min! Great option in my opinion! 💃🏻
Don’t let this man lie to you reading is shit it’s absolutely boing it might be interesting for like the first two week when you go look around but except for the oracle theses nothing to do DONT GO TO FURBURY GARDEN AFTER DARK during the day fine but not at night that’s when all the road man come and cell drugs also there are a lot of roadmen (typical teenage boys who drop out of school and instead do these things: Smokes weed wears tracksuit bottoms with bomber jacket rides around the area on bikes shows aggressive and intimidating behaviour and chill in shady areas or in front of fast food shops mainly kebab shops) listen unless you are here for reading fest or just stopping through avoid this place. P.S London in not 30 minutes away more an 1hr without traffic
Graham Herbert what did I do? I’m just a 12 year old kid also I want reading to be like New York City so basically I want reading to be a city a big one like nyc
Graham Herbert “immigrant scum” - Human trash, 2018. If reading is filled with immigrants that doesn’t mean reading is a bad place, if the immigrant CHOSE to live there. Yeah, I live in reading. I dunno I wouldn’t say it’s amazing to live in, especially if you have children they will be soooo bored. It’s great if your looking for a well paying career without being in London.
Mari Very easy to get into London. The trains are so frequent and it will become even easier to get to Heathrow/central London with the advent of crossrail
How will they be bored or has the same shops as London (london has more of the same shops though) frequent fares in massive parks lots of fast food shops all over town in every neibourhood massive shopping centre debinhams two cinemas football stadium lol

I remember smelly alley, think it's still there? I worked at the George hotel, ran a bar there. Those were the days. Now I live in Scotland.
I lived in Winnersh, I did some nurse training at Battle hospital. I did my driving test around Tilehurst.

Thanks for visiting Reading. Hope you enjoyed your time :)
