I really appreciate you taking the time to do this series. I have a much better understanding of what going on inside there now. I'd love to send you my 461.
You prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Harley Ariel I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
People should now have an understanding of why porting a chainsaw by a professional isn't cheap due to how much time, effort, and expertise goes into it. If you were a dentist, this would be a $10,000 minimum procedure!
"Rarely do lowers, rarely are there gains" -- is this included the context of flowed/ported cases? I just posted to Iron Horse's video (again) asking him how he knows WHERE he can go when he's doing those gigantic flared lower transfers & cases, so far as I understood it there's "the optimal" and anything past that begins to slow the speed/force ('velocity'?) of the charge....he hasn't answered though. I will say, however, that - in my 2nd, and FAR more successful - round of porting my cs590, I did flare may lowers and expect that was a large % of the difference from round-1 (although, to be fair, the OEM layout literally *blocked* the lowers from receiving all the cylinder's lowers' casting could, there was like 0.5mm overlap 'stealing' from me, so widening/flaring a bit to 'capture' that seemed as much a correction/optimization, as a "mod"/"performance-move"!) Thanks as always for the great vids, shouldn't reply when only 2/3rds through but am loving this series and literally going back&forth to my 660 (f.tec) cylinder from these vids (I have (2) cylinders for this kit-660, so wanted to do one really mild & basic so am effectively just doing 'cleanup' but with a slight emphasis-towards the shapes/sizes/orientations you prefer for this jug!)
I really wish I could do that good of work on cylinders
Scott, The wood block is great. I am going to use that technique.
