I do exactly the same thing and I can't get mine to connect up. Not faulty equipment, just hit and miss. I've got to reprogram them because I had a new router, one connected after 10 goes, another one won't connect. And I've got another 3 to connect. They're doing my head in.
It never works like this on Smart Life sockets. It just does not work. Great video, other videos show the same, but my sockets never connect. Lots of complaints on the net about this. Someone once said he connected by Blue Tooth, and it worked, but I cant remember, as it was some time ago. Any thoughts. Again, a great video. Thank you. I'm about to trash my sockets.
My plugs used to work fine until one day they just stopped. After that, no matter what I've tried I've never been able to reconnect them to my wi-fi network. Also, thank god for the mute button on YT.
hello, thanks for the nice detailed video....i follow the setup guide, but i can't connect the plug,I've tried with two plugs Iwith no success ,any help please
2.4 ghz is required on the device you add using the app on. But this is only required while adding the device. After successfully adding the device you can set your phone back to 5ghz
So let me ask you this...We buy this SmartLife plug to work on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi networks. Why can it ONLY be set up on a 2.4 GHz network? It keeps kicking off my phones WiFi during the setup process, then tells me my phone is not connected to wifi.
If you switch the plug on using the app, does it tell you whether the plug is powering anything? I mean, if you put the plug on and nothing is plugged into the plug does it indicate zero current?
The devices I bought, the camera and the sockets do not have a wifi connection at all, the instructions say that the lights could blink, the camera does not light up at all, the sockets only light up. I don't know what else to do to add them to the network.
Had to throw mine out, eventually. Stopped working as it should, then wouldn't go into pairing mode, so reinstalling was out of the question. If I press the power button it turns on and off, but without the connection via the App, it's worthless.
Less music and a little narration would really help your viewers who aren't tech savvy...like me!
If only it worked like this for me but of course it doesnt its a fucking nightmare every damn time I add anything.

I know how you feel. I have no idea why smart life makes things so difficult.

I need to take MDMA before watching this video. I'll be back with a light show in my basement
Do you have to put your router into 2.4 mode to do this
I'm wanting to know the same too. Currently not working for me. I wonder if 2.4ghz is what's required
