This is the MO I grew up listening to, but true fans can appreciate the changes and maturation of as band like this. New stuff is sick and old stuff is sick and raw. Cool to see Andy’s weight loss and the way his voice has matured (what a difference from their first studio album to now.
I think in 10+ years, people will look back and wonder why the fuck they didn't listen to this band when they were in their prime, and also wonder why it took so long for them to get the recognition they've always deserved. Shit's instant classic material.
I love this set, but I listened to a few songs on their Albums and it doesn't have the same vibe IMO, I'll go back and check that specific album out but please hook me up with some other artists that sound like this, especially the first song.
Saw these guys live, by far the best show I've ever seen. It's bands like these who reinvent your appreciation of music. Wonderful musicians, so modest to the music they create. It's art. The world needs more of this
I just saw these guys live for the 1st time in 2021. They are still criminally underrated and unknown. Tickets were cheap enough that I asked people who did not know them to come with. I ended up dragging 5 others with me. 5 new MO fans.
For those who are questioning the rather erratic tempo, Manchester does that sort of shit all the time. They play around with all of their live material, which is precisely what makes them such a powerful band to see in person. Just trust me. Go to the show, then you'll get it.
Once you hear them live it's hard to go back to the recorded material, not that I don't like it but the emotion is missing on a lot of the recorded stuff
I saw them in Salt lake Utah with brand new. They killed it, I had never heard of them befor that. I have been a big fan since. I was also able to meet the singer and he was super cool!
The sound and video quality are great on this video. Oh yeah, and it's a great band playing great songs, and playing them well. So, pretty much a flawless video. Thank you.
it took me at least three times listening Cope to like but now I'm totally on it... it's rock and roll and it is unique, and most importantly, it is fucking noisy
Manchester Orchestra has changed a lot in terms of style.. they were a folk band but it then split off in two directions and kept the soft stuff for their other band "Right away, Great captain" I love the new style ^^
Four of their best "loud" songs back to back (adding Mighty would have been great). But yeah, played flawlessly, with a beautiful b/w video. Good stuff!
I went in to a Hot Topic, a few years back, and the lady asked me what I listened to. I named Manchester Orchestra as my favorite band and she asked; "That's not an actual orchestra is it?" Oh, to be ignorant. :-)
+Adrian Steele Oh. I get it. It's because he is male, not anorexic, and has a beard. Therefore, he is exactly like the one single person who otherwise he only in the vaguest way possible resembles. Beard. Male. Zach. Got it. Pirate with a beard? Zach G (only if pirate is white). Black pirate? Black Zach G, amirite? You're so funny.
Adrian Steele I went to the same little private christian school Andy went to. He was a few grades above me, but I remember him skinny. I liked him, but we didnt talk much except for a few times in study hall. It's weird to see him heavier now playing around the world. It's also weired being a fan of a band of someone you knew who probably doesn't even remember you.
Every time I come back to this set it blows my mind.

Jess Bradley I love that this is the top comment... mainly because Manchester went to shit after simple math.
yeah, no
So wrong.
@@rebstad Considering Cope is probably their best album in my opinion, nah. Black mile is fairly meh.

This is beyond a powerful performance. I don't think I could possibly love anything in the music industry more than I love Manchester..
some part of my body tells me this is the best live I've watched on youtube
You and me both
Saw these guys live, by far the best show I've ever seen. It's bands like these who reinvent your appreciation of music. Wonderful musicians, so modest to the music they create. It's art. The world needs more of this
Noah Hess I agree I've seen them 3 times now not including Andy Hull's solo tour.
They are fantastic!
I just saw these guys live for the 1st time in 2021. They are still criminally underrated and unknown. Tickets were cheap enough that I asked people who did not know them to come with. I ended up dragging 5 others with me. 5 new MO fans.
I really need to see this band. This rendition of Shake It Out is fucking epic
Ohhhh, Andyyyyy. Bring it on ovaaaaaa.
Damn I fucking love you guys. The emotion is too real.
Seen them live three times. They never disappoint. One of the most underrated bands of the 2000s.
I just LOVE this band. So intense. Such artists. >>>PURE
These guy are fucking deadly, wish I was watching this live. Soon enough I will see them at a festival.
His lyrics are so great.
This has got to be one of my favorite sets ever.
One of the most intense performances I've seen from them. Fantastic.
So FN BADASS.

Agreed. That's one of the things that makes them special. Seeing them live is where it's at.
Sometimes your off too xD
Dude yes. You get it.
Once you hear them live it's hard to go back to the recorded material, not that I don't like it but the emotion is missing on a lot of the recorded stuff
Biffy Clyro does that with the off timing beats, Simon Neil is incredible
Absolutely fantastic quality recording of a brilliant band, great job. Thanks.
All time favorite band. Just pure fucking rock.
words cannot describe how much I love manchester orchestra. they are simply amazing.
I saw them in Salt lake Utah with brand new. They killed it, I had never heard of them befor that. I have been a big fan since. I was also able to meet the singer and he was super cool!
Good lord, this completely amazing.
Chris Freeman will never not be fantastic to watch.
Saw them live at HOB Orlando back in 2013.. best show ever.
The sound and video quality are great on this video. Oh yeah, and it's a great band playing great songs, and playing them well. So, pretty much a flawless video. Thank you.
Fucking love this. God damn you guys are rockstars.
So badass. They were different then. Still great.
This is so incredible. Unreal.
if only hot topic could be this based ever again
this never gets old to watch. I wish I was there screaming along in the back! haha
Wow :) How good are these vocals live ! Love it :)
nothing but love for these guys !!!!!!!!!!
i dont know how they aren't the biggest band around right now
I agree I do thin however they will be..
It’s because they are original and aren’t driven by the mainstream
Great performance! Loved every second of it
im proud that i have a beard like andy hull...didn't want to grow it till i 1st seen manchester orchestra...can't wait for the new album
So much love for the drummer
So powerful.
Still the best "live" MO set on youtube. They never bettered it.
To me theres always just this magic in their live shows that i could never feel listening to their albums.
The drums sound good to me. Why is everyone always so critical. Live shows shouldn't sound exactly like the albums.
Incredible Band!
total epicness!! gonna see them live TONITE!! cannot wait! :D
Janita Louw tonight*
Damn!! Just discovered that this is a freaking amazing band!!
Still so rock and roll.
Kinda new ta MO but what I've heard so far is been bad ass!!
This is crazy good!
i come here too often.....
Truly perfect
I've no words to describe how tight that band is. Wow
Good GOD the breakdown in Shake It Out got me hard af
Sounds just like the album. Amazing.
Wow. I FN CANNOT.
So powerful..
Still the best
Incredible
Unreal.
it took me at least three times listening Cope to like but now I'm totally on it... it's rock and roll and it is unique, and most importantly, it is fucking noisy
amazing musicians i love itt
Rock'n Roll monsters!!!
Manchester Orchestra has changed a lot in terms of style.. they were a folk band but it then split off in two directions and kept the soft stuff for their other band "Right away, Great captain"
I love the new style ^^
Right Away Great Captain is Andy Hull's single stuff, their other folky style band is Bad Books
Sounds exactly like the CDs, this is how you know he has a great voice
The most complete band performing in 2014!
Four of their best "loud" songs back to back (adding Mighty would have been great). But yeah, played flawlessly, with a beautiful b/w video. Good stuff!
Andy Hull is THAT FUCKING GUY!!!!!
Their biggest fan is the keyboard player...
I don't think Chris "Lightning" would appreciate that.
December 8th cannot come soon enough!!!
I went in to a Hot Topic, a few years back, and the lady asked me what I listened to. I named Manchester Orchestra as my favorite band and she asked; "That's not an actual orchestra is it?" Oh, to be ignorant. :-)
When do you guys come to Holland ...????
I FN CANNOT!!!!
For real.
Who in the hell actually pressed the thumbs down for this? WTF is wrong with people?
I know right?
PRIDE 0:00
APRIL FOOL 5:24
I´VE GOT FRIENDS 9:37
SHAKE IT OUT 13:57
Some shaky, prideful fool with no friends disliked this.
That tele sounds so angry. Tone game too strong
Their bassist (or former bassist) reminds me so much of John Paul Jones!
Zach Gilafinakis has a petty sweet telecaster
+Adrian Steele Oh. I get it. It's because he is male, not anorexic, and has a beard. Therefore, he is exactly like the one single person who otherwise he only in the vaguest way possible resembles. Beard. Male. Zach. Got it. Pirate with a beard? Zach G (only if pirate is white). Black pirate? Black Zach G, amirite? You're so funny.
+wewewewewe i'm so glad you get the joke.
+wewewewewe No it's cos he looks like Zach Galifinakis.
Adrian Steele I went to the same little private christian school Andy went to. He was a few grades above me, but I remember him skinny. who else is rocking out like Chris while watching this? I know I am!
Never seen someone thrash a tambourine so hard in my life.
Sutch a good band, kinda reminds me to Nirvana
Chris Freeman is the fuckin man!!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hot topic is the furthest thing from the hot topic
Andy's Telecaster is sick.
Andy from the hangover on vocals
❤️❤️❤️
Alan from the hangover on vocals even ha ha
Robert with his vidal sassoon haircut
That Gibson sounds like nothing else
Tightest band ever.
Playing a lot of these songs pretty fast... hm. Oh well. They're still great.
they remind me of modest mouse
🎉
6:11 WAHHHHHHHHH
7:52 sounds so much like Fugazi.
Lol I wasn't the only one then, the fugazi groove is there for just a couple seconds.
Once you have had Fugazi in you, you start finding small echoes and particles of them all over the place.
that riff...
Damn.
I didnt know Lenny Kravitz and Zach Galifianakis were in a band together...
I wonder why the tempo is so fast
It's live, pretty common
back when hot topic was actually emo
I wonder how many drum heads Tim goes through in a year...
