Anyone living in Pattaya now, please describe from a boots-on-the-ground perspective if Pattaya has been recovering from the pandemic.
Being the high season, it looks pretty empty. How can these bars and bar girls survive? Is there any hope it will return next year or is the party over?
In my view, I think your perception is correct. I was there late November, early December. There were many bars, with bar girls standing around, quite frankly many of them have seen better days. And too few punters. Anecdotal evidence suggests that things are not as good as before covid (Source, Bar girls in LK Metro). That said, some of the more popular bars were busy. But overall, it is very, very patchy. It seemed to me the median age of both bar girls and punters has gone up. Nonetheless, you can still have a great time there. There are some great properties to stay at, the bar, cafe and restaurant options are all excellent. There is something there to cater to all tastes. No shortage of mainstream tourists either.
