They were going for a bad boy in love concept, that’s why they’re so aggressive. Also, it’s cute to see in the making that Jin kept apologizing to her.
what jin did is actually a popular move called "kabedon" weird or not east Asian find it hot lmao, its a move that is very popular in anime and mangas, u can just search the word if u are interested .
Mara R yes , jin is very polite (I mean he literally has a nickname manner-dol cuz of that ) and he was all embarrassed and apologizing the girl, but it was his role so.
Not really they both had different concepts. Boy in luv was high school love whereas Boy with luv is about army Jimin part started with “tell me how’s your day ” RM part he spoke about the wings of god that he doesn’t want to fly too far from army. Two completely different concepts
V once was asked “if all your members have a crush on one girl, what will you do?” And he said”I will obverse other guys and take chances when possible.” Props for this smart boy
The behind the scenes of this video is pretty interesting... At one point several of the boys are standing around between takes and talking.. JK was still in high school at the time and RM asks him "What are you going to do if a pretty girl walks past you in school?" JK answers (as if it's a memorized response): "I'm gonna keep my eyes on the ground and keep on walking."
@@iwubfood1 He's shy in general, I don't think it's specifically about girls, but about strangers in general. He doesn't open up that easily, and I assume he may be nervous about people wanting to associate with him out of interest on his social status... But, overall, he seems more confident and mature, so I think he's probably less nervous around girls now that he has become more comfortable in his own person.
It is very romanticized in korean culture for guys to be aggressive when “appealing” to a girl. That’s why they’re caging her in or grabbing her wrist. That kinda stuff doesn’t really fly anymore but you will still catch scenes like this in K-dramas.
The behind the scene video for this MV is hilarious. It's Jin basically begging the actress for forgiveness after each take. Yeah, glad they moved away from this Kdrama energy though.
It’s been said that Bts was originally going to be a truly hip hop group but then the CEO of bighit (hitman bang) debuted bts as a kpop idol group so they root in hip hop. I think that’s why their earlier music was heavily hip hop rap based
True, initially Bighit assured Suga that the group would be a hip hop one and that he didn’t need to worry about complex choreography. Now I look at Yoongi busting some of the hardest choreo moves and feel such pride and relief that he stuck it.
They were trying to be edgy back then. Jimin has said back then he dressed and acted the way he thought he was supposed to, how people wanted him to be. Now he is just himself. I think most of them did the same. Of course they were styled for their music videos.
lol when DT said "very high school", well... Jimin and Taehyung were in high school then (or around the time they graduated) and Jungkook definitely just entered high school that year hahaha
I would say it’s different culture. I totally understand once I live in us for a while. Those scene you saw in what Suga or Jin did to the girl, as westerner might seem odd and not proper things to do but I would say that’s not really surprise one to Eastern side ESP in Asian. I don’t say women tend to accept this manner but I’m just telling you it’s nothing to be surprise at all for us.
The way they made this MV was very anime cliche, like even the first scenes with all the boys doing very anime things: reading mangas, hiding in lockers(?) to skip classes, cleaning corridors/toilets as part of a punishment. Its very 2000s anime hahaha and I guess it is simmilar in Kdramas.
THAT MOMENT was very cultural I would say as Koreans are used to seeing 'naked bodies' of the same gender from a young age, , which is not considered a big deal as public baths are part of their lives. Men are also very expressive with their mates when it comes to physical contact and that's why westerners often get shocked or think that these men are gay at first. But that also goes for children too, strangers would express their affection to children (although this has changed over time) by pinching their faces, rubbing thier heads or just picking them up for a cuddle which would be considered a BIG NO NO in Western society. And all of these are done in a non-sexual way bit I think in this scene, Jimin was actually giving a 'nod' of brotherhood. Also common for Korean men to be doing their 'man talks' in bathrooms.

I don't think you will even begin to understand Bts, been with them a long time. So their earlier years was my favorite, Jimin's adlibs in their earlier songs that no one knows about was just beautiful. They changed out Jimin's high notes to fit Jungkook in live performances, but in the official album it is Jimin with the high notes
like Namjoon say, their debut is as a young teenager, so they talk alot about falling in love, then they move into young adult age where they mention about mental health, rebellion, confusion then they become an adult where they begin to love themselves, and now they are mature enough to accept all their flaw (shadow) and begin to searching the map of their soul.. if you watch from early to now, their album is according to their age chronology. everything is related to one another
I wouldn't say they weren't deep back then because even their debut song "No More Dream" was out of the norm for any kpop group especially a rookie group. The song Spinebreaker which as you know has a lot of meaning behind it is from the same album as Boy In Luv called Skool Luv Affair and even in their earlier works they've always tackled subjects that were out of the norm and they were highly scorned for speaking up in art form nonetheless about such subjects especially because they debuted under the kpop category. I highly suggest you react to Tomorrow which is also a song from the Skool Luv Affair album as well as No More Dream their debut track and N.O their second title track and pay close attention to the lyrics in all of these songs! If there's anything BTS take pride in is in their lyrics that they try to make the main attraction to their music!
I know you’re planning on reacting to Ateez’s *’Answer’* but I just wanted to let you know that that’s the last part in the trilogy of their Treasure storyline so you won’t understand the references in the song nor the mv. It’s just something to consider when watching it. You could also consider starting with the first MV of the storyline which is *’Say My Name’* (the song is also 👌). It’s a personal favourite of mine and also the song they performed at MAMA in the form of a mash up with songs such as BTS’ Blood, Sweat & Tears, SHINee’s View and Miss A’s Goodbye Baby. Definitely recommend watching that performance if you wanna see them live). The aforementioned songs are all fantastic and Ateez don’t have a single bad song so I’m sure you’ll have a great time watching whatever you choose to react to.

this was the very first song I ever heard from bts and it saved my life as I was in a bad place but besides that this song was the one that made me an army and holds a special place in my heart also this was the one that jimin caught my eye in and that was when he became my ultimate bias
Just paused the video at the moment when you said, you're gonna check ATEEZ. Oh my God, DT I promise you, you will love them. They are so energetic, so talented, so funny and playful. And Wooyoung, one of the members is actually a huge fan of BTS and he likes Jimin a lot.
DT Please try to check some videos of TXT. They are the Junior group from same label of BTS, the Bighit. Just like Bts, TXT also have a lot of mysterious stuff going to all their mv's and vcr. There were also the video that shows all the connections between TXT, BTS, and GFriend and we call that as Bighit Universe😊😊😊💜
I’ve also heard Bang PD talk about how he backed off a lot after this period and really embraced letting the guys do their thing. And their growth was exponential.
you have to remember back in 2014, the 'cold guys' and the 'bad boy' type of men were popular everywhere. especially is Asian countries. they're still the go to protagonist type in most Japanese movies, it's what the girls found attractive so it was what the boys wanted to be. a lot of their old love songs (eg war of hormone) are aggressive like that. but they've matured a lot since then. you can tell by their song boy with love. it's supposed to parallel boy in luv in a lot of ways but is a lot more sweet and respectful
I'm excited for your reaction to Ateez. I love them. I would recommend Wonderland(Their most viewed MV) or Hala Hala for a first reaction though but Answer would also do since every single ateez song is a bop. Ateez doesn't have a single bad song.
I've been a subscriber for a while and i loved watching the journey you made with BTS and ARMY. if there's anything i like as much as i like BTS is watching people discover something I love for the first time! With that being said, I think the next group you should check out is Seventeen. They are a 12 member group who self-produce and even self-choreograph their own stuff. Woozi, one of the members and the main lyricist/producer, is very often compared to the likes of Suga in both creativity. work-ethic and prolificacy. You can find his name on most, if not all their albums. For a 23 year old, he really in his own league. Their choreography is stunning. They are very well known in the industry for having some of the most consistently difficult choreographies and being able to execute them with a synchronicity that is unmatched in the industry right now (especially since they are a group of 12, like how do you even get 12 people to do anything in sync??? it's magic, i'm sure of it). Not to mention their vocalists are out of this world. If you think BTS has amazing vocalists, wait until you hear DK and Seungkwan from Seventeen sing. Their technique is flawless (DK was even cast in a musical for King Arthur last year) and they are both VERY underrated in my opinion (I am a musician myself and I am very critical of voices in KPOP so for me to say this, it really does mean something, trust me). Anyway, I think you would appreciate the hard work they put into their art and how far they've come since debut in 2016. Bc it was a school trilogy concept... Their songs, musics, and albums are the journey of life... Starting with schoolboy life era to the grown up man era... That's way their musics in early era has a different vibes to now.
DT, RM explained that this song and War of Hormon is a parody of what people thought all teenage boy are like. But of course not many people understand that or are unwilling to look deeper at the message.
Yeah I think their early eras were darker because it corresponds to the rebellious phase of adolescence. they've always written their lyrics & used that to vent their frustrations about: -society's unfairness by exposing it, -& the confusion you're in when you're a teenager, pressured by your parents, school, society, trying to figure out who you are, what you wanna do & be when you grow up, struggling with the hormones, first flirts etc
There's an excellent book that covers BTS' musical development and impact on the music industry by Kim Youngdae, a Korean music critic who lives in Seattle. He has a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Washington and is on the selection committee of the Korean Music Awards, Korea's closest equivalent to the Grammys. He has been following K-Pop's growth in the US for over 10 years. He does a song by song analysis of their albums, and it's very interesting how unique BTS and their music was compared to what was going on in the Korean music industry at the time. They really stood out and continue to stand out and excel. The book is called BTS The Review: A Comprehensive Look at the Music of BTS and is available at Amazon.

Putting a girl against a wall is an anime trope. You also see it in Manga and Kdrama. It's not 'how' it's done. RM has since apologized for that. btw, the korean title of this song is "manly men" -- if that helps explain it.
Ateez are actually starting very strong. Pirate king, say my name, hala hala, wonderland and Answer are my favorite songs by them. They "similar to BTS" have storyline through out their MV's. You can check explanation videos to understand the story. Thank you for your reactions.
Please react to ‘BTS ‘Not Today’ mv. They quoted the late Martin Luther King Jr. in the lyric. It sounds like an anthem to me. You will definitely enjoy it. Thanks 💜💜💜
This video ( along with War of Hormone) was rather controversial because of the aggression in it. The members were accused of misogyny. RM was so upset he started running his lyrics by a Korean professor of women’s studies. The first time I saw this one I was roiled a bit, but having watched a lot of Kdramas, Imrealized it was a trope, and got over it. Now for my recommendation for a different kpop group, I’m putting in my request of (G) Idle’s new one Oh My God which is so damned incredible I can’t stop watching the video.
Hey from Canada! I love that you are reacting to bts they are on of my favourites! but it would absolutely make my life if you reacted to big bang, or Gdragon or T.O.P. Who are two members from big bang. They are some of the OG to kpop I especially love gd! Songs I recommend are: (Fxxk it by big bAng ) (bang bang bang by big bang) (coup d’etat by gdragon) (zutter by Gdragon and top.) (doom dada by top) 🖤

may i recommend another one of their earlier songs, "attack on bangtan". it is part of their O!RUL8,2? album which was released just 3 months after their debut. it was also one of the early bts songs that caught my attention and lead me to search them up. Thank you.
BTS once reacted to some veteran ARMY reacting to them. It's hilarious really, even without the subtitles. Yoongi's not a fan of pausing. That's what I've learned from that video.
😂😂😂😂 You want to see some of them young, like young YOUNG! Like pre-debut young.... Watch the vids Graduation, Beautiful and Adult Child... Jungkook, Tae and Jimin are just about the most adorable babies ever! 🤣
They were still finding their niche back then. They're more hip hop kinda emo lol, so adorable. And yeah it was a stereotype in asian dramas that the bad boy gets the girl lol. Fun fact: the classroom here is supposed to be the classroom they meet up in as per the BTSU storyline.
The black and the hair and the chains etc. are part of the cool bad boy image they were trying to go for back then. Jimin for example has said that he was just acting like like thought he was supposed to but now he can be himself. The boys now cringe a lot when talking about their past because the were so obviously pretending back then. It's fun tp watch them being so cool and masculine and spiky hair and whatever now when we know what soft goofballs the are lmao
hahhaaha were you dancing to Boy in Luv DT hhahaha cuz they were a supposed hip hop group so they would usually wear lots of accessories and Black/white colour clothing. hahahaha thanks for reacting as it is

So now they wrote BOY WITH LOVE after they realize how love supposed to be :)
Most of their earlier songs still playing in my playlist.
this was the very first song I ever heard from bts and it saved my life as I was in a bad place but besides that this song was the one that made me an army and holds a special place in my heart also this was the one that jimin caught my eye in and that was when he became my ultimate bias
"what was that moment between jimin and jk?" think this whenever i see this video and i can only assume it was what it looked like xDD
Parker, the next please rection to BTS "Boy with luv" Mv.
They were actually a hip hop boy group so that was basically their concept in the early days... black, chains and bad guys
Black color, aggressive approach , JOON'S hair & look everything to fit into the HipHop image ......
This is THE song that introduced me to BTS!! 😭💜 #nostalgia #ARMYsince2014
Anyway, I think you would appreciate the hard work they put into their art and how far they've come since debut in 2016.

jin apologised to the girl so many times after that scene in the behind the scenes lmao after that scene such a gentleman
Bc it was a school trilogy concept...
Their songs, musics, and albums are the journey of life...
Starting with schoolboy life era to the grown up man era...
That's way their musics in early era has a different vibes to now.
I lost it when he said “courtship” 😂😂😂😂
DT, RM explained that this song and War of Hormon is a parody of what people thought all teenage boy are like. But of course not many people understand that or are unwilling to look deeper at the message.
the dance practice of this song is one of their best, you should watch it
reaction v kim taehyung being himsel please
Yeah I think their early eras were darker because it corresponds to the rebellious phase of adolescence. they've always written their lyrics & used that to vent their frustrations about:
-society's unfairness by exposing it,
-& the confusion you're in when you're a teenager, pressured by your parents, school, society, trying to figure out who you are, what you wanna do & be when you grow up, struggling with the hormones, first flirts etc
in the mv making video, jin apologized so many times to her to slamming her into the lockers
You should watch the behind the scenes of this .... Jin was adorably apologised to her right after the director said cut ..... 🤣
seokjin was embarrassed with the girl lmao after filming ahhah
Pls react to Bts Kim Taehyung Multi Talented King by VTS ot7 and Kim Taehyung 8 types of intelligence, and Proof that BTS V is a born performer , i would love to see your reaction on that and so you can learn more about V.💜✨
Loved this but you missed the whole “Jimin being part of a car” portion of the dance 😂😂. You should watch it back💜👍 I love this song. They performed it at the MMAs in 2019 💜 Boy In Luv and Boy With Luv are connected.
we love the jimin and jungkook moment
you have listen to its before in MMA 2019 .. the choreography is amazing .. and I'm excited for your new segment ( dope or nope ) its better thant just an ordinary reaction .. keep it up DT 💜💜💜💜
They were making more hip hop music back then so wearing black, leather and chains matched the concept.
I can see how deep the lyrics are 😂. In high school and even now as an adult, I saw a lot of people make a drama bc someone doesn´t answer a text 😂😂
Yes.. Pls dig in to their old albums..
DT, YOU HAVE TO REACT TO HEARTBEAT PLEAASSEEEE! Sorry for the capslock :D Heartbeat is BTS World OST. and it is a very sweet love letter to ARMY.
how have you still not listened to their first song!! you'll laugh a lot, also looking forward to you reacting to ateez, a random song choice though
PLEASE REACT TO NOT TODAY MV
borahae YASSSS
Also from the older MV's is "We are bulletproof pt. 2" with a legendary dance break. Please react to this video. It's very interesting and amazing! Greets from Germany.
BOY IN LOVE my first mv back in 2015..😅 my bff show me this mv and that time i though JK is the leader 🤣..wow time passes so fast..now my 5 years become ARMY 😅💜 and now i cant live without them...hahahaha
may i recommend another one of their earlier songs, "attack on bangtan". it is part of their O!RUL8,2? album which was released just 3 months after their debut. it was also one of the early bts songs that caught my attention and lead me to search them up. Thank you.
BTS once reacted to some veteran ARMY reacting to them. It's hilarious really, even without the subtitles. Yoongi's not a fan of pausing. That's what I've learned from that video.
i can’t stop laughing watching this. the aggression is so bad but in the making of, jin keep apologizing to her
DT: I like to see where people start off from...
Me: boy that would be *No more dream* their debut. Ofcourse you could still check out predebut 💜
😂😂😂😂 You want to see some of them young, like young YOUNG! Like pre-debut young.... Watch the vids Graduation, Beautiful and Adult Child... Jungkook, Tae and Jimin are just about the most adorable babies ever! 🤣
Binge watching your reactions. Sooo good, thank you👍😊🤗
They were still finding their niche back then. They're more hip hop kinda emo lol, so adorable. And yeah it was a stereotype in asian dramas that the bad boy gets the girl lol.
Fun fact: the classroom here is supposed to be the classroom they meet up in as per the BTSU storyline.
yeah they were going for that “bad boy/hard” concept since they were more “hip hop/edgy” in the beginning lol hence the black and eyeliner
The black and the hair and the chains etc. are part of the cool bad boy image they were trying to go for back then. Jimin for example has said that he was just acting like like thought he was supposed to but now he can be himself. The boys now cringe a lot when talking about their past because the were so obviously pretending back then. It's fun tp watch them being so cool and masculine and spiky hair and whatever now when we know what soft goofballs the are lmao
hahhaaha were you dancing to Boy in Luv DT hhahaha cuz they were a supposed hip hop group so they would usually wear lots of accessories and Black/white colour clothing. hahahaha thanks for reacting as it is
There's so much content to BTS... you can watch House of army.. is kind of a parody they made... and btw its super funny... thanks for your reactions! I love them...
Fun fact, Boy with Love is a continuation of Boy in Love.
