@darlenepetree8185 I finished The Pacific yesterday. It felt deeply personal, just as executive producers Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks intended.
Sometimes I feel that all those fallen soldiers, Who never left the bloody battle zones, Have not been buried to decay and molder, But turned into white cranes that softly groan. And thus, until these days since those bygone times, They still fly in the skies and gently cry. Isn’t it why we often hear those bell chimes And calmly freeze while looking in the sky? A tired flock of cranes still flies - their wings flap. Birds glide into the twilight, roaming free. In their formation I can see a small gap - It might be so, that space is meant for me. The day shall come, when in a mist of ashen I’ll soar with cranes, and final rest I’ll find, From the skies calling - in a bird-like fashion - All those of you who I’ll have left behind. Sometimes I feel that all those fallen soldiers, Who never left the bloody battle zones, Have not been buried to decay and molder But turned into white cranes that softly groan "Zhuravli"
I could give you a good example on how tough these men were. Back 16 years ago my grandfather was still alive in his 90s living life as an old vet with the kindest heart, well he decided to go mow the lawn (He lived in Arizona with my grandmother) and ended up having a heat stroke and passed out on the lawn for about an hour and a half until my grandmother noticed it was taking longer than usual to finish out front, she found him and got him some tap water and he made it back in the house, never went to the hospital never even questioned what happened just waited about 3 hours and finished mowing the lawn. 😂
My great grandpa was alive until early 2000s I think 06,07 and no ptsd kind man, always happy. My great grandma is German grandpa was American but my grandma is still alive and isn’t doing to good as we speak. I live in Indiana and she lives in Georgia, she is getting dementia and it’s getting worse but there is a lot of stories she can tell about the war in Germany. It’s really nice to have my children know their great great grandmothers.
The transitioning of these photos remind me that everywhere the feet of these brave men trod, everywhere they faught, bled, and died has been hallowed and made sacred by their supreme personal sacrifice. I guess that's why I am always so moved by watching this footage. You put these together with such care and reverence. God bless you for taking the time to research, travel, & document these sites.

Japan suffered from air raids during World War II, and the scenery it once had was lost. For many Japanese people, the nostalgic scenery is the 1960s after the reconstruction.I respect the people of Europe who similarly survived the war and preserved the buildings and landscapes of the past.
@stevenhansen5251 Thank you. Will do. Simply haunting. Never again. The Greatest Generation, ever! So young in these photos..so many lost their lives. Some of them lived until they were old. All in all, they died for freedom. I am so incredibly thankful to them. For ever and always.Bless them all.

And calmly freeze while looking in the sky?
A tired flock of cranes still flies - their wings flap.
Birds glide into the twilight, roaming free.
In their formation I can see a small gap -
It might be so, that space is meant for me.
The day shall come, when in a mist of ashen
I’ll soar with cranes, and final rest I’ll find,
From the skies calling - in a bird-like fashion -
All those of you who I’ll have left behind.
Sometimes I feel that all those fallen soldiers,
Who never left the bloody battle zones,
Have not been buried to decay and molder
But turned into white cranes that softly groan
"Zhuravli"
@@memphisto2007 very nice. Thank you for taking the time to write this. I shall look at cranes with a quiet eye from now on.
Wow...
I live in Phx. I know that feels...
He was a tough ole bird...
My great grandpa was alive until early 2000s I think 06,07 and no ptsd kind man, always happy. My great grandma is German grandpa was American but my grandma is still alive and isn’t doing to good as we speak. I live in Indiana and she lives in Georgia, she is getting
dementia and it’s getting worse but there is a lot of stories she can tell about the war in Germany. It’s really nice to have my children know their great great grandmothers.

God Bless your Grandma !
No doubt coz they were toughened by the harsh environment while the generations now get offended for getting called the wrong pronouns
The bullets for the MG42 are massive😮

If you're looking for peace don't look towards Ukraine or Israel/Palestine. 😬👎
We all human in this world should atleast watch this pics once ,so that we may love each other knowing that we all will become history like them..the pictures makes me emotional and I don't have words.
That's how you're supposed to feel
Omg
These photos are so heartwarming. They demonstrate that in spite of the horror of war we can come back and flourish.
R.I.P. ALL WW2 WARRIORS !!!!

A salute to honor these great heroes and a salute to all present and future soldiers.
Japan suffered from air raids during World War II, and the scenery it once had was lost. For many Japanese people, the nostalgic scenery is the 1960s after the reconstruction.I respect the people of Europe who similarly survived the war and preserved the buildings and landscapes of the past.
the music is fantastic like the pictures😄 thx for posting
it's from The Pacific

Sad but mesmerising. Where does the music come from?
" Pacific " excellent mini series, but read the book first!!!!
From the mini series "The Pacific".
God bless and keep each man who fought this terrible war, no matter what country they had fought for
Missing those days 😢😢😢 gives some vibes

Brave old soldiers never die
Their spirits still live in our hearts
Thank you our heroes
Those walls have lots of stories to tell us...

Every day we must thank the soldiers who fought bravely to provide us with our freedom today.
How amazing is this i bet those walls and buildings have witnessed some amazing happy and sad memories. What music is playing, so beautiful

Wow Carentan still looks very similar. That's reassuring somehow. Thank you for your work in putting these together. They are appreciated by many.
These photos and music always give me chills..I can't imagine what the allied forces went thru to give us the freedom that we have...the greatest generation...only a few remain...God bless them all 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The allied forces didn't give us freedom, that's dumb, especially if you live in America which wasn't going to be invaded.

Stunning history.
It really is! I love these videos
all these soldier are happy at the victory but some of them didn't accepted their lost, their brother soldiers, all of this are taken because of their braveness to fought and saw the pain of every men in war dying
These images really give you goosebumps, you see the memories. We don’t know these people, but we know they sacrificed a lot at that time. Also, it makes you realise that most of those soldiers are gone now but their honourable service for us will be remembered, and I am not saying this a citizen of a country, but as a human. Their contribution saved thousands of lives and future generations.
Thank you for keeping these scenes alive!❤
Thanks for sharing!
