From the beginning she was so close to her brother and was looking for Sauron the whole time so when discovered it changed her mind, but Sauron's right because she told him everything he has done he could be free of it. He even told her the truth because he told "I found this on a dead man" at the beginning. Then she leaded him to that. As he told he wanted to stay in Numenor and stay in peace. Then he stopped from killing Adar when Galadriel told him to stop and Galadriel stopped when Sauron told her to stop as well; so they could find balance together if she accepted. At the beginning Sauron decided to do evil things following Mordor because of power, but nobody is born evil or good. We choose the "light" or "dark side" so I think he could be good with her also because he loved her. I know lot of people told they don't love but from the acting being an actress I can tell they definitely do. Love can make you change your path as well
He was also a slave to Morgoth in a way. Think of how confused Gandalf was. If he hadn't been found by Nori, he could have been turned dark too. Nature/nurture I guess
