Teenagers who help rescues and shelters are the absolute best. Used to spend most of my time in shelters when I was her age. It is incredible to be able to be trusted and to work with other species and make them scardy animals come out of their shell and be confident in themselves. Good job girl. Don’t ever give up, you got it and it makes a difference in the world.
Hi Jamie Leigh, Dave, Capri and Gabrielle. I just loved this video!!! Gabrielle, I enjoyed seeing you meet BirdTricks and having fun on the floor with the hermit crabs! I loved meeting your bird. She is adorable! Love, big hugs, birdie kisses, Barb, Beenie, Baby spirit :)))
This is so cute and heartwarming. I remember the first email i had ever sent to birdtricks. It was way back in like 2008 maybe i was in 9th grade and back then it was just Dave and his brother and i believe patty still handled the emails. But i remember how nice and quickly my emails were replied too and how much help that was when i was learning with my first ever cockatiels. And now im 30 and i have a macaw and all sorts of birds and i work so hard to train and maintain a good diet and provide for my flock. And its crazy to think had i not recieved advice from you guys way back then how my knowledge of bird keeping and even where i am today with my love of birds could have been so different or even completely incorrect. So i will always be thankful for that.
I loved this video! I love when youtubers are so genuine and how kind you are to your viewers. I hadn't realized how long I have watch y'all until the other day. I believe it has been around 4 or 5 years now! I would absolutely love to own a bird one day but at the moment, it just isn't the right time. I've volunteered at a bird rescue and absolutely love every interaction I can have with any birds!
This reminds me of the time when I was very young, I wrote a letter to a wild animals vet and got a wonderful oppertunity to visit them at a restricted national park. It really does make me feel motivated even nowadays.
Wow. I think this was wonderful. Gabrielle had shown so much love and commitment to caring for her birds and she's so mature for her age. I showed this to my four boys who are also very interested in learning about how to give their birds their best life. They loved it, too.
Oh my gosh, she reminds me of myself growing up with all the different animals! Our house was nicknamed the zoo because I had hamsters, snakes, dogs, a cockatoo, ferret... 🤣🤣🤣 I've always been an animal lover and I see that passion in that young girl. Such a beautiful heart!!! She is so mature and wise already, I'm sure she will go far!
This is so incredibly wonderful on so many different levels. My daughter Gabriela has also been the recipient of Birdtricks' generosity. Gabriela is focusing her business class project on Birdtricks and Birdtricks has been extremely generous in taking the time to answer all of Gabriela's questions. Thank you Birdtricks for being so generous with your time and talent!
!3 year old going on 30! This was so lovely of you Jamie Leigh & Dave (Capri and Gabrielle with bunny and hermit crabs & Mom, freaking about being filmed, clumsy with chop sticks...what an exciting secret to have this surprise for your bird passionate daughter!)
GOod job love how yall are giving back to fans and meeting them even in the covid situation love yall keep doing what u doing ill support u with anything ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰❤️🔥🥰
This is so wholesome!!! I love your view about passing down knowledge to the next generation and cultivating passion in others. Definitely why I keep watching this channel over the last few years as I go from finding birds interesting, to hanging out with them, to now wanting one myself.
This video was so amazing on so many levels. One of the things that really hit home with me was when you said we're all human and we are attainable. I always try to stay very connected with my fans and make them all feel very special. I even reach out sometimes with video chat or phone calls and they just can't believe it. At first they get so nervous and say I can't believe I'm talking with someone who is so famous 😱 After a few minutes they feel so comfortable and realize I am no different from them 💕 I love helping the younger people to realize that just because you are on TH-cam or Instagram you are no different than them. I love to encourage them to reach for their dreams and make them a reality. We need to encourage the younger generation to have compassion for animals and that means all living creatures. It starts at home with the children 💕 Thank you so much BirdTricks for making this wonderful young ladies dream become a reality 💕😘💕
What a great thing you all did. It was heartwarming to meet this young woman. She's obviously a warm and caring animal lover. Even hermit crabs. EeK! Thanks, Birdtricks.
So cool! I absolutely love how you guys go above and beyond for your fans/students. This video has made me more excited for your Master Class in Pennsylvania!! Can't wait to officially meet you all and learn more!!
I loved this, I am also a Gabrielle haha. You guys were what inspired me to take on my first parrot about 9 months ago. I was a little apprehensive taking on a 16 year old untamed rescue as my first bird but your videos and also just lots of research always helped me. My bird is definitely not "tame" but he is healthy, happy and trusts me to look out for him. He now a 17 year old Brown Throated Conure who can learn new tricks!
I want to thank you guys for all your videos! I've been watching for about 6 months before even getting our first birds last Friday ❤️ we've already been target training our 10 week old lovebirds and it's been a success so far because of your videos! Thank you for doing what you do!!
it's so interesting to hear you guys talk about how it feels when someone you follow acknowledges you, and how you feel like a small fish in a big pond so to speak because you have 300k subscribers but to me, meeting you three would feel like meeting an A list celeb or a world leader. you three (and the birds!) are huge figures to people like me! one time i messaged you guys on instagram expressing how big of a fan i am and how your videos have helped me train my dogs and i got a response. i fan-girled like CRAZY haha love and respect your family so much!
My little lovebird, Mango, flys to me for recall, but is extremely finger shy. I have to present a fist. He wasn’t ever hand fed, but I got him fairly young. It took forever to build any levels of trust. If I hadn’t been a licensed falconer, I probably wouldn’t have had the perseverance to train him. I have other birds, so I would hand feed everyone a treat through the bars, and I just began there. He also loved when I sat on the ground and sang to him, sometimes for hours. He witnessed me interacting with the other birds. I don’t think he has as much trust for me as a hand fed bird, and I have to be more careful of breaking his trust. I have kept him completely flighted, and I think it gives him some security that he can get away. He does groom my hair and give me kisses, so I know he has some love for me. It has taught me to never give up on a bird. Also, anyone who says that lovebirds aren’t good pets just have done enough research or have enough consistency. Hiring a bird trainer for my Grey also helped because I had a lot of feedback on both things that I did well and things I could do differently.
I just got the most beautiful suncheek but I am dealing with the exact situation as your Mango. Extremely finger shy. Its only been about 5 days but we went from him wanting nothing to do with us to him landing on my hand when I had an apple! He will still not step up or interact with my hand on my terms but thats okay. We got an extremely long time left with this guy. Hearing stories like yours make me feel like I am on track. Thanks for sharing!
@@dyanned4975 Great job! It sounds like training is going well and your bird will come around. The little guys can be a little shy because they have a lot of potential threats.
Great! I’m so glad Birdtricks started. When I got my Lovebird Birdtricks helped me so much. However,I had to process in my head how to make things work with my bird. I really enjoyed the video! I’m a true Birdtricks Fan!!
This was a lovely video to watch! You guys are amazing and have really given a fantastic foundation for parrot education for all us parrot owners and parrot enthusiasts, so thankyou!
Lexa reminds me of my beloved Brooster, who was also a Dutch Blue Peachface. I lost him many years ago, but I miss him every day. I'd love to get another one just like him again someday, but for now, I have my Timneh Grey, Ziggy, who is 26 years old and my little "Parrot Son."
You guys really are amazing ❤ to take time out of your own lives to show Gabrielle her voice matters is so selfless & humbling 🙌. Love you all the more for keeping it real xx
My sun conure goes crazy for dried bananas. So I use it to motivate her with flight training. She had clipped wings and a tail when I got her. So she could but she wouldn’t fly more then a few feet away. So I think she’d always had clipped wings. She acts like she doesn’t know how to fly very well. She’s 10 years old. She was very hormonal when I got her too. She’s come a long way since I’ve had her these past few months. I’m so happy she’s doing so well. My last bird was a cockatiel. They are nothing like a parrot like a conure so it was like I knew nothing all over again lol.
hey, i was wondering about the video where you were showing how to let a budgie free flight.. i never am able to lure her with a treat.. she doesn't like millet or anything. my other bird likes it but she doesn't and only eats food when she's hungry.. so what should I do?
Hi I have a question. My cockatiel is around a year old now and when I first got him he was at 7 months of age, ever since I got him he had a drooping right wing and 3 toes pointing forward when perching instead of the usual 2 on her right foot. This also seems to be messing up his balance. My local vet said there was nothing wrong but its rly bothering me. Any tips?
Can anyone help me with my timid untamed plum headed parakeet he's more timid then touche` the ringneck parakeet !!! I got him from a family that didn't wanted him , didn't had time for him and when ever I'm or anyone is in the same room as him he would hop , jump and even try to cut the cage's bar with his bare beak and I haven't even touched the cage yet or even tried to approach him !!! Pls help me !!!
