      @Dan Reid lmao don’t forget the beef jerky for Bigfoot. I can make a video on that but I thought the beef jerky and Bigfoot is a fairly well known practice when venturing out into the woods. If you didn’t know, then let me fill you in now. Bigfoot only wants one thing from you, beef jerky. He prefers Jack Link but Walmart brand will do in a pinch. You bring you some of that and you’ll have no need to fear him. Lol. Bro I hope you get out and go man! It’s so much fun. Cheers and go camping! Thanks for watching!

    I’ve never paid much attention to waterproof tests because your supposed to waterproof your equipment yourself at least once a season. Nixwax or even that stuff from Walmart with the orange cap in the camping section does an excellent job of waterproofing your tent and anything else you want to waterproof like gloves, boots and tarps.

    As a novice to hot tents and wanting to get into it. How do you deal with that big gap at the floor? Seems like it would make you freeze at night

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Eddie Davenport you can adjust the straps to the stakes. Shorting them would make the gap smaller but probably won’t eliminate it. If you have snow you can build up around it some what with snow. Just make sure it’s still vented somewhere. Other tents will come with a snow skirt which is extra fabric that would hangs down in between each stake out spot so you can cover them with snow, closing the walls. When it’s not really cold out it warms up even with the gaps. Thanks for watching!

    look your getting pleanty of air. the problem is your pipe is to small. you should have a damper . on a three inch pipe. it looks to be two inch and no damper. your right. it needs to be modified. put a three inch pipe on it. its not that hard to change the ring out. as fare as getting the pipe apart. bend at the connections then bend the other way. i have made many small barrel stoves that size. i would buy it and modify it by putting a larger pipe and pipe ring on it

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Aaron Zierke for the price and knowing you have to modify it is decent. I’ve been meaning to put a 3” on for years. I think I’ll go with the normal size of most titanium stoves, I have a lot of that pipe lol. I think it’s 2.33inch if I remember right. This stoves is 1.75(if I remember right lol) I have flue exits in that size too so it would make it easlier/cheaper for me lol. Thanks for watching ohhh, the pipe idea, bending nice!

    Hey,......do you like the stove jack ? If you're warm & dry, that's all you need. What extra little thing did u add to the outside of your stove pipe down by your beloved stove Jack ? You skipped over that pretty fast. There should be no water leaking on your stove. If it is hot you'll have a tent full of steam, or maybe convert it to a sauna.

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kenton Hammond when it’s raining it’s almost impossible to keep rain out of the stove jack in my experience. They problem here was the hose was spraying right into the stove jack sleeve. I think that’s what you’re asking about. That’s a stove jack sleeve I made as an extra layer of protection for your tent. I like the stove jack it seems well made so far. Nice and thick material. I don’t like stove jack with holes already in them vs ones you cut the hole to fit. Thanks for watching!

    I don't understand why something needs to say "hot tent" in order to put a stove inside. Why can't you just put it on top of something. As long as you've got a "stove jack" for the pipes, what does it matter? Fire proof mat, metal cart, big log.. piece of metal?

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Incognito I mean you don’t need anything under it technically. And anything can be a hot tent if you put heat into it. I’ve added a stove jack to a 3 season tent before. Works great. So yes you can add a stove jack to anything. Thanks for watching

      @Bobby Boon I think the tin may transfer too much heat to a regular tent fabric. Not sure but I think so. Hey man, another great video!! I have the same set up as you (3F UL TENT+Stove) what’s the lowest temperature you’ve ever able to make it through the night in there? I’ve just taken it out this weekend and it was 7°C here in Ontario, it was nice and toasty, but I’m worried that it won’t be habitable in much lower temperatures; I’m guessing -10°C/14°F max? Thanks!

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Bohan Zhang coldest I’ve camped was -5 F in the 3F UL tent but I was using the Mr. Buddy heater that time. We stayed warm the whole time. With a wood stove I think it would have been even warmer. But you always wants a sleeping system rated colder than it’s going to be just in case. In temps that cold I always have my 0degree F bag another bag as well. Usually a liner of some sort. I’ve done a leanto with sleeping bags at 5 degrees F and I was warm then too. Doubling up sleeping bags is a great way to camp at lower temps to extend your bag ratings. One bag inside of the other. I’m not a fan of the 3F UL stove version 1 anymore. I believe it has a major design flaw with the door. Stay warm out there and have fun! Thanks for watching!

      @KCoutdoors missouri yes it would. When it’s really cold out you would adjust the stake out points to draw the bottom to the ground. • @AdventureswithSpackmann

      @Smart Travel Solutions Pakistan the water you saw was being sprayed right down the stove jack sleeve from the hose. When it’s actually raining or snowing, it’s not that big of a problem. Finally mention the company who made it vs. Amazon. Amazon won’t sponsor you or send you free stuff but the manufacturer might. Make your only waking thought, “What do i need to do to crack the 2k mark?”

    1st impression is thats a LOT bigger than most one man tents which barely have room for a grown man and his gear. 2 could probably fit in that tent but it would be tight, especially with a stove but an adult and 2 kids looks really possible especially in comparison to other tents.. you may want to make a piece that slips over your pipe and closes that gap in the jack if you're taking it out this winter...smh... I KNEW that last sentence was going to bite me!! all I had to do was watch another 30 SECONDS....lol... maybe carry enough aluminum foil to make a cone and seal off the jack to the pipe in case of rain/snow... I know Im old skool but I was taught to never touch the tent walls when its raining because it messes with the waterproofing.. there are several types of spray on waterproofing available to reinforce whats there and address the vent area etc
