Go find some JOY! I am one month past a C3-7 fusion and saw the most BEAUTIFUL sunset tonight! My neck brace, trekking poles and I took a turbo walk (considering my state) to a soybean field and just stood in AWE. God is amazing!

I came up with this quote in the midst of health, financial, and life situations in my 40's and have been all over the spectrum since: " Life can be between the suffocating circumstances and joyous possibilities" and now that I am 60, I found myself worrying more than experiencing the joy. I missed the positive person I was and the hope I felt. God blessed so many teachers, friends, loved ones, and even strangers with your kindness, knowledge, and joyful spirit. I've been watching your videos and see the joy in students' smiles and that connection has changed the trajectory of their lives. Do whatever is necessary to put yourself first. We are praying for you.

You are inspiring me to just handle with what comes.I’m having a posterior lumbar laminectomy this month. I’ve been pretty scared. I have numbness on left arm and leg and hope and pray it’s my cervical spine causing it. You are a really inspiring person. Bless you. I can see why your students love you. Agreed, in Australia we have free universal health care, it’s the only way to go in a humane society

​@@vickilynn9514but your taxes are high. Someone has to pay for it. Also in some countries where it is " free" you get delayed for tests, dont get the best care. Am not sure about Australia but that is the case often in Canada.

I had to go on permanent disability from being an RN. Got approved right away so then I’m on Medicare. I chose an insurance package that included the hospital I worked at and the surrounding doctors I knew. It’s an HMO but I have never been denied anything and has covered everything I have ever needed. I think I pay $145/month which is deducted from my monthly social
Security Disability check. Plus my meds are free! I have had a pacemaker (with complications that have put me in ICU twice), bilateral knee replacements, and 4 other surgeries. I have paid nothing!! I did not want to stop working but glad I did to have this insurance. Think about it.
