- Edwin De Los Santos scored an upset against Jose Valenzuela on the undercard of the Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz pay-per-view that took place at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, California on September 4, 2022. Though Valenzuela withstood pressure from De Los Santos and scored one knockdown, De Los Santos shocked many by scoring a knockout in the third round, bringing his new record to 15-1 (14 KOs).

I've never seen a boxer take jabs to the face as hard as Jose Valuenzuela. They were landing and snapping his head back as if they were straight right hands. Valuenzuela's got a tremendous amount of heart but I'm glad the ref stepped in so he could fight another day especially considering that he's so young and saving him from further punishment may help him continue on his previous trajectory.
Obviously shout out to Edwin De Los Santos for a highly impressive outing and we look forward to seeing the type of champion he will be.
Jose was chasing the knockout like he was in a hurry. He should have noticed that he could hurt Edwin, but Edwin’s chin is still durable and he was countering him like crazy. He should have been more patient.

Gervonta’s fight against Pitbull had casuals thinking Cruz was supreme amongst the entire 135/140 division, but dude doesn’t have no jab game or intricate styling just crazy over hands, aggressive hooks and come forward tactics and he’s too small in reach. Rayo clearly moved around better and was there to win, he improved since the Edwin fight but still Edwin on a technical scale is there with shakur, there’s levels to this idk why casuals thought Pitbull wasn’t a one dimensional fighter
