Crazy how one person successfully shut down an entire segment of the entertainment industry. After what she did, no one ever trusted talent shows ever again. This should be made into a movie
I wouldn't say it shut down an talent shows, there are still just as many talent shows airing and it still happens countless times probably behind the scenes.
I would argue that her story ended the X Factor in its tracks. It aired its last season in 2018 and was expected to make a comeback and return after the pandemic, but then Zoe comes out in July 2020, and it caused so much backlash that in 2021, they announced they would not return.
bullshit if only people were that smart and logical.. instead reality shows just keep flocking viewers like none of the segments of a reality show aren't scripted. Including the rise to fame of a bunch of talentless smugs grouped together by Simon like it was a completely natural event that randomly occurred. And more of these scripted hidden talents getting popular on live stage continues to make it on such shows and everyone blindly accepts it. Reality shows will keep profiting off such stupid people.
If there will be a movie inspired or based on her i hope Margot Robbie will be the actor portraying her, i can see Margot's resemblance to her just from the facial expressions.
Them telling her to sing a pink song and to be a pink impersonator before the show, then the judges telling her that she should find her own identity has to be the most infuriating thing I've ever seen in my life.
"Journalism" online is dogshit. They just repeat what everyone else is saying in slightly different terminology and just about nothing posted on a newpaper site is actually real journalism anymore.@maddyberkley1836
She listened to the producers for no reason and threw a tantrum. She's clearly not the brightest. You also have to realize that the producers are not the judges nor are they always in contact.
The very first time I watched her audition on X Factor before, the moment she said "You told me to sing a Pink song. I don't want to sing a Pink song", I immediately felt and suspected that something fishy is happening. And there it goes. Something did happened behind the scenes. Poor Ms. Zoe. 🙁
You can see Zoe’s parents angry and almost in tears after seeing what they were doing to their daughter and begging them to stop filming her. These producers truly are pure evil.
when she said “you told me to do Pink” I thought there was more to the story. There’s no way she would have had that mental breakdown simply for being rejected as a contestant. I’m glad her story is out because the truth will always prevail

Never trust what’s on TV. My family was once randomly interviewed about just hanging out at a lake beach, but when the segment aired, they used the footage and our genuinely innocent comments completely out of context in order to push a narrative on a controversial issue that they never mentioned during the interview. Thankfully it’s not like it was anything big enough for us to get hate over it, but it could have been, and it could happen to anyone at anytime.
like those tiktoks, they do an interview and ask you: "hey, where is china in?" "asia" "hey, do you know where mexico is?" "In north america" but they'll swap the clips and make it look like you said china was on north america and mexico in asia, and then be like "wow isnt it crazy? nobody knows geography nowadays!" this has actually happened several times and various tiktok interviewers have been called out on it, it's concerningly common
what's crazier about it to me is since the footage is edited so much it makes it seem like it was just an excuse she was trying to think up and the judges just looked at her like she was stupid
dude i feel so bad for her she was manipulated on the show and then her life was ruined because of it. I’m so glad that her story has gone viral and people now know the truth. She deserves to have people on her side.
"I didn't want to sing Pink. You made me sing it." The look of absolute horror and embarrassment on that judge's face was absolutely delicious. You can tell he was terrified that he suddenly looked like the scum of the earth.
It’s truly sad to see the X Factor go out of their way to ruin her life because of one outburst, I’m glad to see the audience and public side with her instead of siding with the X Factor
SunnyV2 bots didnt even watch the raw audition. She assaults an innocent camera man, drops very vulgar insults to the judges, and rips down the sets. She destroyed her own career.
I remember growing up thinking this lady was crazy. It goes to show the amount of power these talent shows have in sculpting personalities for themselves
I actually feel bad for her. She wanted to just be herself, and they pushed her to do something she didn’t want to do. I really hope she’s doing okay nowadays.
I agree. her being a mediocre singer isn't the point - they forced her to be someone she's not, and then she was punished for it. It's a lesson learned that at the end of the day, "reality" shows especially talent shows like these aren't real. I won't ever support shows like these if all they do is try to get more attention by ruining someone's life. DON'T GIVE THESE SHOWS THE ATTENTION THEY DON'T DESERVE
False. Zoe wasn’t what they were looking for, so she got angry. And let me read that again, “punished?!” Dude that’s not being punished, it’s literally being rejected from going on to the next round. Like wha
so they set her up to sing a different song from her choice, then told her to be emotional, and then them knowing all they told her to FIND HER OWN IDENTITY??? like yeah, sorry hun, you gave me this identity 30 minutes ago.
A girl from my home town made a big impression on the X Factor a few years ago and got through several stages of the audition process, but then completely disappeared from the lineup without explanation. Mutual friends later explained to me that she had been asked to beg and plead on stage, like Zoe was here, but she refused and was subsequently dropped.

I haven't heard her sing other than the audition - but if they really did play the instrumental in a different key, then that's going to make even the best singers sound terrible.
@@deana1587 LOL she clowned herself by acting the way she did. She could have just walked away. She wasn't getting anywhere professionally in her singing career, hence, why she came on this show. @@fableydra So you've never acted a certain way and regretted it after? You're a perfect human who can keep their emotions in check 24/7? Sure thing. Yes she reacted poorly (being made to look like an idiot, in front of thousands of people after you've been excited about that moment for months can do that to you), but if you watched the video it says that they cut to footage and moved it around to make it seem a lot worse than it was. Have some compassion and an open mind. Unless you've been in that situation yourself, you have no idea how you'd react.
It actually seemed really obvious to me that she'd been coerced into that reaction. This happens a lot in Narcissistic Abuse - the victim is manipulated and humiliated until they snap, at which point the abuser sits back like the epitome of composure.
Absolutely, this makes a lot of sense. Her reaction really seemed like she’d just realized she’d been scammed or misled and sabotaged; that she’d been backstabbed. The fact that there are several rounds of auditions aside from what we see on the TV and the judges reaction are filmed later and exaggerated
Dude… stop with the victim mentality. She AGREED to sing the Pink song, and they even gave her a second chance and she was clearly not good enough, and then she behaved like a spoiled brat. That is ALL her!
I remember watching this clip years ago and thinking she was nuts, but when I rewatched it a couple days ago it clicked that when she said "you told me to sing a Pink song" she meant "you" as in the show/producers...

My family grew up watching the X Factor in the UK, both physically and through TV. As I grew into my teens, I honestly felt X Factor's storytelling was the equivalent of companies changing their logos during Pride Month. They don't care about the people, they're just tryna feed off societal empathy and are ready to pounce to ruin people's image for show anytime. But hey, thats British entertainment in a nutshell.
Same, until my Dad pointed out that many of the contestants they tear into have clear learning disabilities or mental health issues and I just never looked at it the same way again. I'm glad people are turning on these kinds of shows at last.
Your comment is true. I like how you brought up how companies change n there logos for pride month to get some money from gullible viewers is like this situation. Thank the Lord Zoey is ok. 🙂👍
I think it is worse than companies changing their logos for pride month. These are individuals, who are targeted, manipulated & exposed to public scrutiny. A lot of them are clearly not prepared for being flung into the spotlight, and you never know which clip will go viral. Some people who have been on reality shows have also not been thoroughly vetted, or they disclose their fragile mental helath and are told they will be supported, or even told it will enhance their performance. Even the big budget shows are known for having poor after care and many contestants mental helath has spiraled, some ending in them taking their own life. I think the worse offenders are those like Jeremy Kyle, Dr Phil etc who clearly manipulate very vulnerable people, then exploit them. Or push them into accepting inappropriate treatment, of even abusive treatment. Or the show completely abandons them, when the reason they appeared on the show was that they felt hopeless and were promised help. It's no wonder many feel resentment, regret, and many other negatives after their experiences.
I thought Zoe was a weird anger issue lady from the audition, but after this, she seems like a very nice person. She was manipulated and mislead. Justice for Zoe and her family.
Why?! You believe it when they show it like that, you believe it immediately when they show this... she claims Nicole never got up while there's a wide angle shot of Nicole getting up and her walking hand in hand with her dad... Just because we know that reality TV is extremely contrived, doesn't mean they completely faked everything. She lost the plot and she's continuing to push her delusional narrative - I guess it finally stuck ... ?
The very moment she said to them “you told me to do Pink” is when the producers realized it was time to cut the mic or Zoe was going to expose their crap and once they cut the mic off before she started explaining is when she became even more infuriated. They set her up. That’s bullsh*t
If that is even true. It could just be her excuse to defend herself. It is a one-sided story. Where is the producers in this video that supposedly told her to be Pink? You need both sides.
If you only want the manipulated truth, that is what you gonna get. Producers might as well just say that nothing like that ever happened and that she just made up everything as her only excuse for her shitty behaviour@@pradapimpcess
They didn't just want her to perform as Pink. They wanted her to flip out. They demanded she go onto the show as a Pink impersonator, only to tell her she needed to be herself. The word 'Gaslighting' gets thrown around way too much these days. This is it. This is as good an example of Gaslighting as you can possibly get.
People worried about robots and AI replacing script writers today... but reality TV producers already hated writers since the beginning. They wanted all the viewership of a drama show but with less effort, by haphazardly doing it with real people, not fictional ones, and without much writing and just calling it "reality TV".

... And how this contestant destroyed X-Factor. She finally told her story in 2020 and the show ended up cancelled (the shows style apparently went stale but we know the power of public opinion). The public finally believe her. She deserves her life back! Justice for Zoe!
No, the reason the show went off air is actually because it went stale, it's actually not difficult to see, this was not the only audition like this, my cousin's, which didn't even make it to air, was exactly the same, and it's not unique to the X Factor, all singing shows are exactly the same, the Voice included, so the end of X Factor had nothing to do with this at all. I also have a friend and former classmate who has auditioned numerous times and, again, never made it to air, it was the exact same every time. I am, however, at least happy that the industry is finally exposed because it is a joke.

I am certain they also saw the final cut of that show before it was broadcasted and seeing as they were there in real time when the performance actually took place, they also know what happened and in what order. If you ask me, they most likely added in their own finishing touches for a bit more razzle dazzle😒 Oh that's right... the later recorded reactions by them‼️

at 5:44 people were saying that she was being bratish, which i find kind of weird. Mainly because I feel like everyone would be pretty pissed off if someone told you to do something and then basically get made fun of and getting put down on a major tv show for doing that thing. Cause personally I would be pretty pissed off.
I auditioned for Xfactor in 2015, i made it through two rounds (the rounds before going onto the stage with the celebrity judges) I can 100% agree with everything she has said about the production team, after witnessing the things I did and how they churn artists in and out as a number, it well and truly put me off trying again through any kind of TV music audition/competition. I was a young teenage girl and it ruined me. I feel so sorry for this girl
X-Factor is still a complete joke. I never liked how they humiliated people on TV and made them a target to boost ratings. This was supposed to be a talent show not a staged performance.
I had a somewhat similar experience on AGT. I sent in the goofiest audition tape possible where I dressed up in a chicken suit and squeaked a bunch of rubber chickens. I got invited on the show, however I beefed up the act and added a ton of epic drumming into it. I played through the act flawlessly and the judges told me I needed to get better at drumming. Made no sense until the episode aired. They cut out about 80% of the act to make it look bad and added fake audience boo's. But I didn't even try to argue with the judges. I just squeaked the rubber chicken into the microphone and walked off like a badass poultry-man.

As someone who was a contestant on the X factor many years ago and made it on the show in a different country i can confirm the producers pick your song for you, they tell you what to sing and make it out that it was your choice, the producers also told me word for word what to say, i spent 2 hours in front of a camera being told "ok, now say this and say that" i won't forget how the producers made people break down into tears after they were told they were not moving onto the next round, they would take those who didn't make it through and say "wow you must feel devastated, your dream to be a star ends here, tell me how do you feel, how does it feel to have failed" its a full on psychological attack, my personal experience was okay but you have to be mentally prepared to be abused. I believe everything this person has said in the video but you can't let them manipulate you.
I don’t think we as audience members realize how fabricated much of what we see in these “reality” shows really is. I was an audience member for one of the US X Factor audition shows back in the 2010s, and before a contestant even stepped on the stage, we were instructed to carry out a series of reactions that were filmed for the show. The crowd was filmed showing various levels of excitement, confusion, anger, etc. With all of that in hand, the producers could tell whatever story they wanted to for the auditions.
Damn, that's the same crap you see in any Gordon ramsay skit/segment with people going "😮" in certain shoots, it looks hyper acted and super fake, makes way lots of sense now.
I always wondered how they got clips of ppl talking about an act. Like are cameramen with long mikes just wandering around the audience just catching ppl at the right time????
You only have to look at the footage where Zoe pushed the cameraman. He staggered backwards like that referee Paul Alcock who was pushed by Paulo diCanio....took about 3 steps to fall backwards with the artificially dazed look on the face, showing that even that simple task was fabricated.... and just in case you missed it, a cameraman was filming that cameraman at the time.... come on folks.
@noahp3057 That is true. And it happens in all kinds of shows, even the live ones. My class was invited to The Voice Portugal episodes recording. They spend about 10 minutes giving out lessons about the "sign language" someone will use to control your emotions and pre-recording all of it. After that, the person in charge of controlling the audience's reactions, hidden in a place where the audience can see him but not the cameras, will use their sign language to tell you how to react. That's why you probably almost always feel you disagree with the audience in the studio. If the audience doesn't react the way they want there is no problem at all. Just use the pre-recorded reactions and edit that in. It doesn't matter what kind of show it is, it will always be manipulated be it through audience manipulation or editing.
i remember my big sister spending atleast 6 years so she could become the school music leader when they judges said she was absolutely horrible because of the 30$ mic they school had after this we sued the school they lost and the judged emailed my father saying we were abusing my big sister for pushing her to become the school music leader absolutely disgusting.
I had a friend who was a talented singer back when I did a communications course. She told all of us the story of how she auditioned for Xfactor New Zealand. She got through the initial round but didn't make it through the live auditions. They gave her some vague reason about why she didn't get through but the real reason was that she didn't have an emotional enough backstory. A normal childhood, parents that love and support her. It doesn't surprise me one bit that Xfactor would do this to this poor woman. When you consider how their audition process actually works, how do we think the comically bad singers get through to live auditions? They're entertainment. Something to laugh at. Like how Natalia Kills got herself kicked off the show by openly insulting one of the contestants. She was a judge by the way. That show was past the point of caring about singing or music. They wanted popularity and they didn't care who got hurt along the way.
VERY TRUE Julia....I've heard lots and lots of complaints about how unfair XFACTOR.All talent shows are my Niece tried to get on AGT with a Ekulaley and they wouldn't except her but Grace Won that year playin a Euk.......whats wrong with this pic.?.......HHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Listen pal, these programmes are all about entertainment. Its not about music. This is the lowest of low who think they can become famous because they cant go out and get a real job.
It's a TV SHOW, its whole purpose is to entertain, the contestants must have a background story to produce an emotional reaction in the audience, the show is not just someone singing. Ofc they will require or demand things that normal auditions for a label company won't. I do believe that in this case it was very disingenuous to ask her to audition as Pink and later tell her to be herself on live, it was a very wrong thing to do.
I've heard similar stories here in the US about different types of reality shows. Good thing it's pretty common knowledge now that reality shows are anything but real. Funny how this same type of thing happens in numerous countries. There are so many dark and twisted stories from the entertainment industry.
I know there’s at least one person who’s committed suicide since this show was axed, Ariel Burkett, but I don’t know if that was directly related to the show or not
The way she just went, '...you told me to sing a P!nk song' in the audition is so tragic. And, honestly, her singing was actually not bad. I can imagine her doing crazy choreography tbh.
I can see, she's not super super talented but she's okay. It geniunely feel like the song was offkey for her and she was trying to find the notes because she was so used to sing it differently.
What X factor did was horrible, but I don't think Zoe is completely innocent. Her meltdown and freak out was entirely her own doing in the end of the story. Nobody was holding a gun to her head demanding she do it. Despite the fact she was setup to fail, and setup to make a mockery of her, something which is absolutely shameful, her own outbursts were in the end, her own doing. She could have easily just said "enough of this" and just walked out and went on with her life, but she didn't.
She still wasn't emotionally stable enough to go to the show. Like seriously something must be off when you basically end uo "having yourblife ruined" because someone tries tonput on a show and youblash out therefore in a moment. It's really NOT SUCH A BIG DEAL AND NO ONE REMEMBERS WHO YOU ARE just over one show 😂

I was on Big Brother UK decades ago and set up to be the villain by the story producers - so I can relate. The audience is unaware that the production team on these SHOWS are massive. And they are always super nice, friendly and agreeable . But once the cameras start rolling they gaslight you and pretend all previous conversations dont exist. BUT and I say BUT that is if they want you to be the villain. The villains will have a differnt experience to those they single out for the winners or positive edits . The producers were trying to get me to flip out like ZOE. And every day their treatemnt of me was worse- denying clothes, medication, underwear and focusing the storylines of people they were treating in a positive manner. I did not flip as I was the only blk person on set and that including production - they had the police on speed dial. And if I came with nothing , had nothing on the show I wasnt going to leave with a criminal record. I ended up reporting my producer to the COPS for detaining me while they created a fake story but he lawyered up and told the cops it was contractual not legal. As people on the show ALL sign NDAs they keep quiet about behind the scenes crap. I broke my NDA and revealed alll to mental health experts who were shocked and disgusted
@RaniaIsAwesome There is a BIG diference for someone not giving you a job or making you a star and you getting hurt because you are dainty and a fragile butterfly . To a group of media people befriending you and basically being agreeable and pleasant. Telling you how they will support and guide you on their TV SHOW and then acting completely different once the cameras start rolling. I was on BIG BROTHER UK back in the day - so production had to come to my house. meet friends and family and just be great people off camera. Then once the cameras start rolling and the contract and NDA signed - they changed. One of the producers came to my house and looked at my bathroom supplies and commented on my hair products and said 'You can bring all you hair products on the show specifically for afro hair - we do accomodate'. And what happened I stayed in the same clothes for 8 days , they withheld medication and I had to counsell a man of his meds when the cameras werent rolling. When I had enough the storyline was I was deranged, unhygenic and cheating - so they were throwing me out. They escorted me off the set with security guards and once the cameras stopped rolling the production started to laugh and say it was just a game and all fun. And kept me in a room for hours to release press releases and contact their mates in the press, So its a massive betrayal of people who have befriended you over days ansd weeks and THEN gaslight you on a mainstream media platform - that can and will mess you up and ruin your life. The Mental Health Foundation UK and SANE contacted me after the show about another cast member and literally were disgusted by the whole proceedure including the gasliting, fake mental health support and the NDA that threatens to sue - if you reveal their actions.

Thank you SunnyV2 for sharing this and clearing things out for her. This isn't just a video, this is a wake up call to stand up against media abuse and manipulation.
She once came into a cafe that I used to work in. I recognised her instantly but obviously didn't mention it or ask if she was who I thought she was. It was a brief encounter but she was super friendly and energetic. I'm so happy for her that she's finally got some vindication from suchvan awful situation she was forced into. Watching her video responding to x-factor's decision to turn off commenting made me want to celebrate with her
I watched Zoe's audition, and they really did edit it to make it look like she was crazy. Now that I know the truth, I am horrified by the cruel and manipulative behavior of the X-Factor producers and judges. How could treat her so badly? I am on your side, Zoe!!
If you watch the original clip i dont think the judges said anything disrespectful. As far as reality TV being altered, its common knowledge that its designed to add drama for views, as this a tv show afterall and thats the end goal. Regardless if they told her to sing a pink song or not, she had the choice to turn it down and not sing. She also claimed the girl in the yellow didnt stand up and was added in later, but you can clearly see her standing up as the camera pans to see zoe having a breakdown in one clip without any cuts, so that clearly happened. In my opinion it was on Zoe for not keeping her emotions in check. Even if she did well, she isnt cut out for show business and wouldnt be able to handle any criticism. That line of business is all soulless fake people who are only in it for the money, coming in expecting anything else is jusy ignorance in my opinion. Even if they designed the whole charade to make her look bad, its on her to take the high road and hold your head high.
My friend who went on the Voice UK had a similar bad experience when she found out all of the chair turns are already decided by the producers and they edited her performance by increasing the sound to her voice to make it seem she was overconfident and full of herself. It is truly shameful what TV shows do for more viewership.
I think the few good things that came out of social media is that now everyone has a voice and explain their side of the story. If they would have happened in 2007 or so, we wouldn’t have known that I was staged because Zoe wouldn’t have the chance to upload a video and tell us what really happened…
I saw a full video of a guy's performance in the USA on the USA's version of X Factor. It was vastly different from the version shown on TV. The TV version showed nobody clapping and total silence while the bootleg video showed clapping and cheering. Someone in the audience secretly filmed it and aired it on TH-cam.
I’m so sorry for her. Like someone said is the comments, I was one of those people who laughed thinking she was just some crazed contestant. Really can’t judge things by what’s “recorded”. I’m very sorry, and I’m also glad that this video got millions of views so more people can understand
I think what makes Zoe's story so interesting to a wide range of people is the fact she wasn't a "reality TV veteran" or supposedly "attention seeking" auditionee like Chloe Jasmine or Rylan. She was just a working singer doing parties and functions. She wasn't deluded, or stage school like, or media trained, she was just doing what she thought she had to (as I believe most X Factor auditionees who get filtered out during bootcamp are). She didn't have that "story" that producers were looking for, so they decided to shoehorn something about her having a lack of identity and trying to make her look like an obsessed wannabe contestant (X Factor did this a lot by asking people "who would you say is your idol?" and then comparing them to said idol after they hit that bum note because their nervous). It was a very cruel thing to do and because she comes across as so direct and honest in the show and in her account of what happened, it kind of unravelled the whole process and decontructed it for people to see. Zoe was essentially, from her first audition tape, auditioning for a role in the show that she wasn't aware of. The ethics of that are questionable to say the least, and I'm sure is still goes on today. The job of the judges in that segment was to push a contestant to react like that. They probably tried it with a few other tribute artists who made it to the judges auditions, but Zoe herself probably thought is was only her that had been picked on and used dishonestly for entertainment at her expense. Really disgusting when you think about it. Back to difference between a Chloe Jasmine style contestant and a Zoe Alexander style contestant. A Chloe Jasmine auditionee probably already has had enough TV experience to be somewhat savvy about how appearing on a show like this would affect them. They've probably had agents and a management contract for a while. They're in the reality TV and gameshow business already, so they're already known, and are promoting themselves to get the many deals and opportunities that are available to them with the exposure of being on various reality shows. If they recieve a no on X Factor, I'm sure its disappointing, but either way, they just go on to the next audition. The Zoe style contestants aren't rich or nepo babies. They come from, for all intents and purposes, a nice family that have come along to support their daughter/sibling. The likes of Gary Barlow (a nouveau riche thug in my opinion) and possibly Tulisa do not understand people like this because they've been in the establishment for so long and it shields them from what you might call "the average person" who doesn't have the experience or savviness to deal with it. She deserved much better treatment than that regardless of this or that supposed "personality flaw". Shut up, we all have "personality flaws" and it shouldn't be treated as a spectacle for TV ratings. She deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. Treating someone like that isn't professional, and its a stain on all of their reputations now. I hope that Zoe is healing gradually these days. She's clearly an intelligent and discerning person, and unlike what that audition showed, she can more than hold a tune. Well done Zoe. Keep telling us the truth. x
I always had red flags from shows like x-factor or Britain's got talent because the judges are so harsh for absolutely no reason. Yes, your job is to criticise but there is no need to obliterate an audition. We're all humans with emotion at the end of the day 😭
usually in these shows this is the second or third audition. First auditions are done on front of producers to see what kind of TV you will make. Sometimes they get you to send in a video instead or even just an application form.
That's not the worst part, it's the fact that they can manipulate both the people in and out of the stage from behind the scenes and making it "legit" is what makes me question they're morality and honesty. One example is Marcelito Pomoy who is a talented Filipino singer that auditioned in the USA got Talent and he got the same treatment with being force to not sing his song choices. Made me realize how they corrupted even for the sake of "entertainment" right in front of us without our notice
@coolbeans6945 a lot of the viewership for shows like Got Talent is working class mums and grandmas- and they love cute kids. So they have to let some of them through
You do know even those who won the show had their life ruined due to the contracts they had to sign, she wasn't the only one to be screwed over. If i recall you couldn't sell anything without their permission, you couldn't even post videos of like vlogs or any tours without their permission on your own youtube channel as you had to sign that away too. They in faceted owned you like a slave for about year - 4 years, so even tho when you win you get quite chunk of money you will be locked to not earning any more money then you have from your talents for quite some time. For real X factor truly is such a evil show be hide the curtain. I'm glad at least the uk version has been canned. Hope it never gets a reboot as i doubt i can trust that they are a good show that treats people nicely even if new people were running it.
Hell yeah Zoe! redemption! :) so glad you are still alive and people were able to actually witness how horrible these producers and shows can be. every reality and competition show is scripted and edited to fit a storyline. even when they record the "truth", it is always warped through editing and cut for time. thank you for continuing to show yourself to the world despite how awful some people have treated you. you are an inspiration to many !
The fact so many people are defending an absolute adult child who threw a tantrum and threw a microphone, and scream is wild to me, no matter the situation
Then clearly you've never being humiliated in front of thousands of people. Of course it's wild to you. You're ignore of these types of situations. Count yourself lucky
Wow, justice for Zoe. That is disgusting. Anyone can be distraught and emotionally overwhelmed when being humiliated and silenced. That does not make someone "crazy", it's human feelings and reactions. I hope she is better now ❤
If this happen in China, the contestant will be muted and no one will ever get to know the truth. If it happen that they do post videos to get the truth out, their life will be threatened by the CCP since the China shows are backed by the CCP.
Anyone who was a regular viewer of these types of shows most likely enjoyed every second of someone being publicly humiliated; that’s most of the reason people tuned into the show!! These shows were just as much; if not more so about humiliation than they were in genuinely finding talented artists. If I’m wrong, then why do you suppose they showed so many people being mocked and humiliated?? These shows ALL followed the same format and that was to have at least one judge who shameless humiliated people with the nastiest comments they could come up with. If that wasn’t the case, then why air any of those segments at all of those poor performers? These shows gave their audience EXACTLY what the audience wanted… Drama in the form of people being publicly humiliated. Anyone who was a regular viewer is either lying or they are in denial if they claim they didn’t like watching those portions of the show. It would be no different than people who watched Jerry Springer regularly and claim they didn’t enjoy watching families going through turmoil and being torn apart for audience enjoyment.
@@jaymiller6009You're right. If they wanted to find genuine talent we'd never see bad performances. Especially considering the vetting process to get on the show to begin with
As someone who has been on a couple of reality talent shows myself I can believe this 100%. They literally tell you what to wear and what to say. I stood my ground and said no, this is a reality show I'm not being paid as an actress. Actors have unions and rights and get paid. They also don't have to use their own name, they use a character name. I strongly believe unions need to step forward and protect reality TV stars to make sure they are not being asked to act in any way, shape or form. If they are being told what to do, then they need to be paid as an actor and have a character name not their real name. It's been an unregulated area. I was mind blown at how fake reality TV is and how many people are being exploited.
Let’s also not forget Aerial Burdett. That poor girl committed suicide because those producers manipulated her clip to make her out to be a bad person. VERY different to the sweet girl who is seen speaking to Dermott just before she goes through the doors of Hell to the judges. Rest in peace, Aerial. What happened to you was beyond criminal 💔💔💔
i dont think she passed away solely due to the x factor. she passed like a decade after her performance and she had serious mental health issues as well
Going onto the x factor as a young person even an old one, would have been a setup to an upset years later. She definitely would have been totally affected mentally, by this egotistcal panel of heartless inbreds, audience & the rest of World-watching population. Only a seasoned politician can handle this cruelty. I agree with lolokim comments 100%.
The PRODUCERS told her to sing a Pink song, which she did. That’s what she meant when she told the judges “you told me to sing a Pink song”. But they edited it to make her look like she was a deranged maniac. Shame on them for doing this to her! They are lucky she didn’t sue them for defamation of character. Tara Simon also had a bad experience on this show. They portrayed her to be something she’s not. I auditioned for this show in 2011 at the Arizona Mills in Tempe, AZ. I didn’t make it. Now in retrospect, I’m glad I didn’t make it. They would have bamboozled me as well!
@@pharaohoo I don't think there is need of evidence of that. What they did to her is clear, and we can see X-Factor facing consequences for doing that.
I stopped supporting and wanting to apply for TV Talent Shows after I auditioned for Britains got Talent when I was 11 (I’m almost 27 now) and all they kept asking me before my first audition was if I had any kind of sob story or trauma that I wanted to share with viewers if I made it to the judges audition so they could essentially get me a sympathy vote… My mum was dead against it and said “if they don’t want you for your talent then using a trauma story is not the way to get to where you want to be” I completely agreed with her. So we said we didn’t have anything like that and as soon as we said that, it became instantly apparent how they suddenly lacked interest in me… It was awful and as an 11 year old girl who idolised these kinds of shows and believed they could make dreams come true, my eyes in that moment were suddenly opened to how fake and awful they are… Everything is about the “entertainment” value and majority of the time they don’t actually care about genuine talent. The rest of that audition day was so disappointing as I remembered just feeling like “why am I here? I can already tell now I have said I have no trauma story that they aren’t interested” as a little girl that was such a sucky, disappointing feeling. Little did they know I actually had a really heavy trauma story from when I was a baby and my father took his own life but we as a family didn’t want that to be the reason I got any further, plus my mum is a very private person so understandably didn’t want to share that on national television with the world.
@@BeanieGuyFr Okay? You clearly are a very unkind person to make a comment like that in the first place. So I don’t really care about your opinion anyway. I wouldn’t dream of saying something like that to someone after they shared something so traumatic and personal. I can only hope people are kinder to you than you are to them. Just noticed your PP says the word depression on it, so perhaps you are very depressed and that’s the reason you feel the need to come on here and make cold comments to people. If that’s the case I am truly sorry for your suffering and hope you get the help you need.
@@BeanieGuyFr As if I would care about your opinion anyway when you are clearly so cruel and unkind. You must be a sociopath to comment something like that to someone when they shared what I did
Look, I'm sure she felt pressured into singing the Pink song but there was no CGI that's an absolutely ludicrous claim and has been debunked. She did throw the mic, she did walk out onstage with her dad and she absolutely did become aggressive with staff and need to be escorted from the venue by security/police. She's been caught outright lying in several instances about what happened during her experience on the show, trying to completely reframe the narrative in a way that totally absolves her of any responsibility. But the fact is she did what she did and it was on camera. Yes there was editing around the judges responses/crowd sounds but thats true of practically all live programs it doesn't mean the entire exchange was fake. Sure it was shady storyline producing to convince her to sing the Pink song (if that even happened) but she agreed to it voluntarily. Just like she voluntarily chose to have a fit and made a fool of herself on television. And it is ethically murky of the X factor to continue using her footage, just like many, MANY, others to mock them for entertainment (especially people with obvious handicaps). But she knew exactly what she was getting into and is in no way a victim of anything but her own behavior.
@MegaMerdeux she literally did deny it all (look up her actual video telling the story) and she accused the BBC of editing the footage with CGI. There was an actual forensic into the footage because she wanted to sue the BBC, she's legit an insane person lmao.
that’s so crazy!!! i’m so glad she’s been able to move past it but not only that…she got it removed and made a whole generation aware. that’s remarkable.
I remember watching this few times years ago and thinking that there must be more to this than just a rude contestant, I knew the producers must’ve done something shady.
This is disgusting. She was lied to, frowned upon, and intentionally bullied by the judges. And look what happened… good thing she got the truth out though
Not only that, they tod her the call time was 6AM but she was hold and auditioned at 3PM. She was asked not to eat, she was hungry and not given even a bottle of water. Anyone whos sleep or water deprived, hungry and then treated like this would Snap!
These type of shows have been on for several decades and it's amazing that people still don't seem to realize that the purpose of them is to humiliate people for entertainment.
Zoe if you ever see this, I’m so sorry this happened to you. You absolutely DIDN’T deserve this. This wasn’t your fault and you were manipulated into doing what you did and we’re all behind you :) Edit- Also don’t worry about the people in my comments. They’re obviously perfect in every way and have never tried to pursue any kind of dreams of their own. If they ever have then everything has worked out perfectly for them. So don’t sweat it.
Wasn’t her fault? She signed up for the show. She chose to do a pink routine, the producers didn’t force her to do anything. She chose to yell at the judges and act like a child. Actions have consequences. Period
i feel so unimaginably sorry for zoe! she didn’t deserve this. she seems like such a kind hearted person and they manipulated her and dragged her through the mud. the producers basically ruined her life and couldn’t even apologize for it. justice for zoe and her family
I’m glad she was able to have her name cleared. Social media can be a force of good when used correctly. The X factor and most of entertainment as a whole is a truly soulless industry.
I do feel very bad for her, but what happened didn’t constitute physically assaulting someone. She had every right to yell and call out the show; but the second you commit physical violence it’s hard to condone.

Never trust what’s on TV. My family was once randomly interviewed about just hanging out at a lake beach, but when the segment aired, they used the footage and our genuinely innocent comments completely out of context in order to push a narrative on a controversial issue that they never mentioned during the interview. Thankfully it’s not like it was anything big enough for us to get hate over it, but it could have been, and it could happen to anyone at anytime.
like those tiktoks, they do an interview and ask you:
"hey, where is china in?"
"asia"
"hey, do you know where mexico is?"

British entertainment is as bland as their food.

Why?! Just because we know that reality TV is extremely contrived, doesn't mean they completely faked everything. She lost the plot and she's continuing to push her delusional narrative - I guess it finally stuck ... ?

wish reality tv shows weren’t like this but every single one is.
People worried about robots and AI replacing script writers today... but reality TV producers already hated writers since the beginning. Just awful and I feel your pain it happened to me too .. at last some justice for artists 🙏🏻
I auditioned for one of these shows, and I can confirm, it's all very fabricated and almost scripted in a way.
i remember my big sister spending atleast 6 years so she could become the school music leader when they judges said she was absolutely horrible because of the 30$ mic they school had after this we sued the school they lost and the judged emailed my father saying we were abusing my big sister for pushing her to become the school music leader absolutely disgusting.

@RaniaIsAwesomedid you not watch the video?
Holy fuck, I'm SO glad I stumbled on this. I had been binging bad audition compilations, and I always got a kick out of hers... Now I'm gonna have trouble ever enjoying another one. Dear God, this is horrible. I'm so sorry, Zoey.
That beautiful girl doesn’t deserve to be treated like that. Those judges are toxic! Her performance was amazing. Disgusting judges.
I remember seeing this ages ago when the act went viral and never had any idea, so I'm glad to be informed and I hope Zoe can find peace and happiness. There's things in my past I don't like to think about but nothing of this magnitude, dear god. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be made to look like this on television to millions of viewers, it is absolutely heartbreaking.
I still remember how happy I used to feel while watching X Factor since I was a young girl, but this story made me really felt bad for the poor woman who was manipulated, made her a laughing stock and endangered her entire families lives just to make the show look good. This was truly disgusting and terrible. I can’t imagine how bad the dad felt when he had to protect his family physically from people harassing them.

I watched Zoe's audition, and they really did edit it to make it look like she was crazy. Now that I know the truth, I am horrified by the cruel and manipulative behavior of the X-Factor producers and judges. How could treat her so badly? I am on your side, Zoe!!
Not surprised, it's ran by Simeon. The dude is notorious for being an absolute piece of shit
It's not the truth, just a made up story.
Anything for an extra view.
It's still funny as hell and she can't sing💀💀💀💀
Even if they designed the whole charade to make her look bad, its on her to take the high road and hold your head high.
yup aint no business like show business
My friend who went on the Voice UK had a similar bad experience when she found out all of the chair turns are already decided by the producers and they edited her performance by increasing the sound to her voice to make it seem she was overconfident and full of herself.
It is truly shameful what TV shows do for more viewership.
I think the few good things that came out of social media is that now everyone has a voice and explain their side of the story. If they would have happened in 2007 or so, we wouldn’t have known that I was staged because Zoe wouldn’t have the chance to upload a video and tell us what really happened…
@@anneneville6255even before she auditioned there was a youtuber exposing all shows similar to the x factor contracts its crazy
Or your friend sucks at singing
I saw a full video of a guy's performance in the USA on the USA's version of X Factor. It was vastly different from the version shown on TV. The TV version showed nobody clapping and total silence while the bootleg video showed clapping and cheering. Someone in the audience secretly filmed it and aired it on TH-cam.
It's truly shameful what TV shows do for more viewership?
It's not shame on the TV shows, it's shame on the viewers.
Keep telling us the truth. x
I don't know why I read all of this but you state some good points
I completely agree with this statement: 5:14
I feel bad for her, but she made it so much worse for herself
I always had red flags from shows like x-factor or Britain's got talent because the judges are so harsh for absolutely no reason. Yes, your job is to criticise but there is no need to obliterate an audition. We're all humans with emotion at the end of the day 😭
W
usually in these shows this is the second or third audition. First auditions are done on front of producers to see what kind of TV you will make. Sometimes they get you to send in a video instead or even just an application form.
Cry harder it was a good time back then why go on a singing show if u can’t sing
So they have to let some of them through
Man I feel so bd for her. Show made it seem like their entire family is delusional. Shame on the producers
Some guy about to comment her fault

Especially considering the vetting process to get on the show to begin with
She's honestly so brave for telling us about this! Also she still does singing which is amazing :)
Oh dear. Are you a “star” too??😂😂😂😂
Let’s also not forget Aerial Burdett. That poor girl committed suicide because those producers manipulated her clip to make her out to be a bad person. VERY different to the sweet girl who is seen speaking to Dermott just before she goes through the doors of Hell to the judges.

Where is a evidence that producer told her to sing Pink's song?
@@pharaohoo I don't think there is need of evidence of that. What they did to her is clear, and we can see X-Factor facing consequences for doing that.
I stopped supporting and wanting to apply for TV Talent Shows after I auditioned for Britains got Talent when I was 11 (I’m almost 27 now) and all they kept asking me before my first audition was if I had any kind of sob story or trauma that I wanted to share with viewers if I made it to the judges audition so they could essentially get me a sympathy vote…
My mum was dead against it and said “if they don’t want you for your talent then using a trauma story is not the way to get to where you want to be” I completely agreed with her.

She never denied throwing the mic. She never denied walking off stage. Wtf are you smoking bro?
@MegaMerdeux she literally did deny it all (look up her actual video telling the story) and she accused the BBC of editing the footage with CGI. There was an actual forensic into the footage because she wanted to sue the BBC, she's legit an insane person lmao.
