You've got guts Shaun! I do not see myself attempting to foil switch in the foreseeable future, much less trying to switch WHILE riding. And I've been foiling for three seasons now. Hats off to you sir!
I think the slow pump theory is pretty sound. But I would also point out that the smoother the water you can get on to learn, the better. I tried in pretty choppy waves the first session out (not to mention, it was really cold!) and while I was able to get on plane, it wiped me out really fast because I spent most of my energy just trying to keep my stability in check.
So cool to see the progression and those "uh oh" moments during the learning process! Still making it looking easy. I would love to try foiling, but it's not a cheap setup ☹Any tips on how to start or try without a significant monetary investment?
Good question. Little to no ballast when learning to control and stay away from the wake/waves. No need for the high tow point but can help when learning to get up.

Thanks! It was an on the spot decision and pretty fun/challenging.
Thanks for showing the progression! It gives you a great perspective of what it is to learn again that that is super useful for teaching.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I can't wait for these next few vids to come out! I reckon this is about where I'm up to with foiling!!
Then you're probably ready for this one too if you haven't seen it yet th-cam.com/video/KRys3jQLs_8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W-33S8ZeOdevCiJx
We agree foiling is amazing

Bumpy water can def play a role in making you focus on more than just pumping
My team is presently struggling to switch. Very reassuring to learn that this is normal.
Switch foil?! That’s next level
Great tips! lets go!

One of the resale apps or a resale sports store, I grew up with "play it again sports"
Find a friend who has one or wants to share the cost
Same!
Still commenting for TH-cam algorithm and paragon giveaway! 👍
You going to get into winging next? You should try it brother
Haven't yet but looks pretty fun to have that independence
Do you have to have a ballast setup for this? And can you foil without a tower, just get up using the tow hook
