    I sprayed with a $10,000 Stearman with a R-985 up front. It purred like a kitten. It had some fabric hanging down in places and bailing wire between control horns and tailwheel, but came out of the field with authority. We could only get a 200 gallon fiberglass hopper laid up in the front seat space, so was never max loaded. It was a solid and honest airplane that taught proper rudder (lead rudder) usage. We have human auto steering wheel muscle memory. If we don't lead rudder, the nose just yaws the wrong way initially. Stepping on the ball is late and is not coordination.
    Nice landing. Slow landings lead to far less LOC bent skin and tin.

      @@tomkelly6216 yeah it was but it was an absolute blast to fly. The pilot was really cool for letting me fly it once we were up and it was a tribute to my namesake. My grandfather learned how to fly on one of these so it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. The open cockpit was awesome. The commemorative air force staff and crew were amazing
