I love Paul Simon, David Gilmour, mccartney and so many other great artists, but Jeff Lynne is simply the best. It takes a real and true music fan to understand just how amazing Jeff Lynne is. I dont think of him so much as a musician, i think of him as a magic maker.

Agreed !!! I've always said that Jeff Lynne and ELO were so very much ahead of their time. Many people, especially here in the US, missed the boat, so to speak. If you take the time to listen to every ELO album, there are very few, if any "throw away" songs. I can't say that about any other band or artist. There are 17 songs (if I recall correctly) on "Out of the Blue", and 15 of them are worthy of The Top 40. Can't say that about any other LP that I can think of.

ELO songs are timeless, on account of Jeffs brilliant production values and techniques. You would never be able to guess which era ELO's songs are from. The sound is as strong today as it was, some 30, 40 years back. None of todays "Manufactured Talents" will ever compete on sound, production and brilliance as ELO and Jeff Lynne................. Simon Cowell and the rest of today's supposed "Music Moguls" watch, listen and learn!

Nobody ever mentions his concept albums, which were masterpieces.. or even his lyrics, or what he's been up to, why he wrote things or what he plans in the future? They always have to bring up the Beatles like that was his biggest accomplishment, but he deserves knowledgeable interviews and more appreciation for the amazing work he has put forth so far in his musical career. I still & will always believe that Jeff Lynne is and always was better than the Beatles, honestly. Does the whole world only listen to just the Greatest Hits? {& I actually am a pretty big Beatles fan as well} So If you see this Jeff, if you let me interview you even over the phone I'll buy you delivery food and beer at least! And ask you REAL questions instead of talkshow bullshit. You are appreciated, and if you ever want to just make another fan's dream come true like you said and that you'd travel, I'd like to volunteer now please! haha. Part 2 Sharon Osbourne's father was Mr man at Jet records.She tells a story of back when she worked for daddy as a road manager or some sort of "pach"she was on tour with ELO.But she hated working with them because they didn't party constantly and behave outrageously.All they cared about "in her words"was trying to sound better and perfecting their stage show.Daddy later re assigned her to Ozzy Osbourne and the rest is history...That's why Jeff Lynne is Mr cool.A consummate artist who shaped not only the pop culture of the late 70s & early 80 but the whole Approach to Record production.
