The great thing about Arnold is that even though he has had many successes he has not allowed it to go to his head. He is still a down to earth great guy.
I think he once was pretty arrogant. But he realized rather quickly that he, as he said himself, isn’t a self made man. Despite his incredible work ethic and drive he was dependent on many people in his careers. I think the realization of that humbled him.
After watching his documentary, it’s hard to think of a more impressive guy. Aside from reaching the heights of body building, movies, and politics, he became a millionaire from REAL ESTATE before getting into movies. I’m not sure if there’s anything out there that this guy can’t absolutely crush
@Tessmage Tessera I don't care what he did...just speaking to the facts on the ground. He's in the public eye and he hid it from the public. I'm not making judgment calls on the action, just the facts of what happened. Chill out dude/dudette.

One thing I've learned in life, that I think Arnold and people like him seem to know instinctively - you are as strong as you believe you are. If you have the strength of will and determination, and the confidence to believe in yourself, you can do absolutely anything. My daughter is a big Arnold fan, for that reason. He's an inspiration.
Governor Schwarzenegger was one of the most human politicians I ever met. In late October of 2006 the Esperanza fire killed 4 out of 5 crew members of a fire engine defending a home from a wild land fire. The fifth, was in critical condition with severe burns with little chance of surviving. On a Saturday about a week before the election Schwarzenegger came into the almost empty hospital and I was the only Chief Officer there. I saw him coming in from the back of the hospital and asked if I could help him. In the most Schwarzenegger voice he said "I'm here to see Pablo". I said well, because of his condition, that's not going to happen but there is a room where his father, sister and family are. He asked if he could talk to them and I escorted him into the room. He spent well over an hour talking very personally to every single family member in the room individually, not as a group. Most of it sitting knee to knee with Pablo's father with is arm around him as he cried, trying to give him words of solace and consolation. When it was time, he said his goodbyes and we were in the hallway, I told him that there were 5 satellite news vans in front of the hospital. Remember this is a week before the election. He looked at me and said "I am not here for them, I am here for Pablo". He then said "Give me 15 minutes to get out of here". 15 minutes later after he was long gone, I walked to the front doors of the hospital and 5 reporters saw my uniform and ran toward me demanding to interview the Governor. I got to tell them "He wasn't here for you, he was here for Pablo". That day, he walked away from hundreds of thousands of dollars of free campaign advertising because he was only there as a human being to help Pablo's family and not for the political publicity. I was lucky enough to see him do a few other incredibly humane things for everyday people who needed comfort in troubled times.
Since I was young, I never liked muscular men, nor the type of movies that Arnold Zchwarzenegger made, but one day I saw Terminator at my sister's house, and the special effects and his robotic character caught my attention and ended up loving the movie. After that, I didn't remember him again, until he became Governor of California. I don't know… I associated those kinds of bodies with arrogant and empty men, but now that I've watched the Netflix documentary, the quality of the video, how it starts with his mom folding the towels in such a neat way, and at the same time, how Arnold goes narrating the story of his life, and his childhood with his parents, in a village in Austria, and how he tells his dreams and pursues them, and his father's rigid discipline that drives him out of there. As he arrives in the United States and all his goals are met. I totally fell in love with the Netflix Documentary, and with Arnold Schwarzenegger! Seeing that he was not just a muscular man, but that he is an intelligent and tender man, changed my opinion of him. I'm sorry that his marriage of so many years has ended, but children are not a mistake, even if they are the product of an affair. I wish him the best and be a useful man 😀😉🙏🏻
