I spent my summer holidays in the late 1960's spotting at this location. A class 22 would take the wagons in and out of the factory. The Frys locomotive never crossed the road in my experience. Have you got the RCTS book "The Railways of Keynsham"? It has lots of information, track diagrammes etc. A friendly crew once gave my friend and me a ride into the factory and up the line to Keynsham East - happy days!
Many thanks for the info. Will have a look for a copy. Got a pannier, 03 and 08 also planned to run on it. Plus a few what if industrials, just for fun.
Amazing! Imagine the sentinel bombing down the GWML! The path from Keynsham to Somerdale along the old trackbed has enough room for a line and a path, I don't see why they don't have a little heritage line there? Also, do you plan to sound fit the loco? - a challenge I bet!
Ha! You never know. It might of had to when it need maintenance or when it was delivered. It would of been a very short run if so, as it's only about 1/4 mile to the factory. Plus the car park at Keynsham station covers most of it. Not these ones, as they won't work on the shuttle then, but you never know. :)
@@SDJR7F88 Oh yes as it is DC, maybe the train tech sound capsule. To be honest a nice little heritage railway just from the trackbed side of the road to the edge of the estate would be interesting. I did it on my bike the other day and at a slowish, reasonable speed the whole line could be a short, enjoyable (400m) ride - we can dream! 😂
Depend on what materials you have and the ones you choice to buy. I reckon this layout will cost me around £300 when complete, but that does not include the hour it took to build it ;)
Love the layout. So small and yet so realistic.
Thanks so much! 😊 Glad you like it!
I've been to see the Fry's loco under restoration at Avon Valley Railway, and I must admit this has made me very happy to see. Good work, Callum.

Very nice, would it be possible to give a rough estimate of the cost when completed at all. For a layout of this size?
Depend on what materials you have and the ones you choice to buy. I reckon this layout will cost me around £300 when complete, but that does not include the hour it took to build it ;)
@@SDJR7F88 Thanks alot, looks like it will be worth every penny. Keep up the good work mate.
