Honestly English clubs have bullied every other league with their financial means. That was never a problem to any English pundit or mentioned in the media.
For instance West Ham won the conference league and everybody in England praised them. Reality is that their budget is 5 to 10 times the opponents they played. Not mentioned once...

This annoys me as English football did the exact same thing. As a bitter Scotsman, one of the major reasons of the massive drop off in the quality of the SPL is that English football is much better funded and robbed the Scottish leagues of any talent.
I like listening to Simon as he always has an intelligent perspective on any subject, but he's also argumentative and never answers a question with a straight answer. The Saudi’s Qataris and Abu Dhabi’s have funded the premier league for years. Making it the richest league in the world. Now all Saudi wants to do is use their own money for their own league as oppose to splurging it everywhere else. There ain’t a problem with that. It’s hypocritical from people like Gary to want to block Saudi Arabia from splurging the cash on all these players when its exactly what the prem has been doing for the last decade 😂

i think the question he is asking is - where is the money coming from and is it sustainable - we know where it comes from in europe and the UK - but are they blood washing money etc.
I'm not worried at all about our game. I think football will always be biggest in the UK, that's where the fans are. If big players go to the Saudi league, no one will care. Like Jordan said this is about gaining an invisible power called influence. Influence is only given if you let it be given. If no one watches the Saudi league then it gives 0 influence. Same as the Chinese league.
I agree to a point, but the concern is how that money affects the football pyramid as a whole.
Thirty years ago England were way behind Italy because they had the cash. Then it was Spain. Ultimately it's down to commerce.
