Esta Solea la escuché hace tiempo y me quedé impresionado de la composición y la esquisitez con que la toca. Gracias maestro por hacer piezas como esta y que nosotros las podamos disfrutar.
Great flamenco guitarists perform almost exclusively with microphones instead of dreadful sounding piezo pickups. They usually have the luxury of performing in quiet settings unless with group when even then the sound is mixed by an engineer. Having seen Vicente Amigo and also Jose Antonio Rodriguez in their concerts as well as footage of Paco de Lucia using a condenser mic I was wondering if anyone out their could share their experience of playing in a live setting say with a somewhat loud crowd in a social setting when the guitar needs to be heard. Would anyone out there recommend a particular microphone and whatever pre-amp or mixer without spending a small fortune? The Neumann KM 184 as specified in Paco's contract rider and frequently seen in his concerts is a whopping $1,500. Is it possible to successfully mic a flamenco guitar at say a party, club or restaurant to be heard above a noisy crowd without producing feedback and have enough clarity and presence to be heard above crowd noise?
David Head Guitarist , hi, the best way in those settings is mixing a mic with something else, because you always lose some frequencies with the mic in live settings, to avoid feedback, so there are some systems, k&k trinity, ( mic and undersaddle sensor ), Carlos vip, ( "coaxial Piezo" and a body sensor ), dpa 4099 mic, Barbera transducer and a mic.., also I recommend to have the mic inside the guitar, so your sound is always the same, good luck!
