Well, Dread is now way easier to encounter, and has a badge for surviving it! (For those who may ask: Wait in a room (other than reception) that has a round clock on the wall for around 7 minutes, while being constantly active, moving, looking around, etc, *just don’t open the next door.* As time goes by, the lights should break, and eventually the room will become dark enough that Screech starts to spawn, but keep waiting until the clock reaches midnight, you can use the minute hand to tell how far along you are. Once things turn monochrome like they do in this video, quickly open the next door, and the effect should lift, and you will get Dead of Night.)
Funny Fact: Dread have existed since the start of doors as the Anti-cheat entity but was later replaced by Ambush, it made a reappearance in the last frame of the Doors Hotel+ Update Trailer, but only has been released during The Hunt Update.
I don't know why they just replace entities like this,like how they replaced glitch with some random new entity(but that's the opposite of what happened here)

He only appears during actual glitches now and the new guy is just for when you are going too slow in a multiplayer server. It made no sense for glitch to be distance based thing

His jumpscare may not be that scary, but just waiting for said jumpscare, while listening to that ambience, is absolutely *dreadful.* Edit: What makes it even worse is the way his AI works. He immediately spawns at the farthest door once the ambiance starts, and slowly starts moving towards you. And only you, because he's client based. And he is just a little bit faster than you, but still slowly approaches you. (Vitamins can outrun him) And if you have a flashlight, and look hard enough, you can just barely see a sort of outline of him heading towards you, as if he's cloaked. So that makes it so much more *dreadful* to know that you can see him slowly, but surely getting closer until he catches you.
Maybe it should be regular anti-afk when it gets fully added. Maybe after 5 minutes of being in the same room (With exceptions for The Figure), the lights will shatter and the rain outside will suddenly stop. The door behind you will lock, Dread will appear, and it'll then begin to slowly drift towards you akin to the spectre from Spelunky. Apon touch, you die. Crucifying it will only add another 5 minutes before he comes back, this time faster. Leaving the room you AFK'd in will result in you waving your dread away. Maybe even add a modifier where Dread spawns immediately and you have to fight every entity while almost never standing still
@@maddenbanh8033Dread got updated recently and he actually doesn't even spawn if your afk, only if you don't go into the next room for 10 whole minutes but if you stop moving for long enough he just won't spawn when he's meant to, which is good because anti-afk monsters make no sense.
Dreads appearance after one hour in a specific room is just an Easter egg as dread will likely get fully implemented into the game after floor 2 or some other update

other info: when dread spawn it will give u 10 sec to get out of that room asap or else instant dead, but if u have crusifix in rift, you can use it to crusify dread (yes we can crusify dread)
You don't have to wait in the lobby for the whole time. As long as it is at or past midnight, and door 13 has been opened while door 14 hasn't, Dread will appear. You can wait out the clock anywhere, the lobby is just the safest place to do so.
I’m going to come clean and say I have tested to see if this is a myth or not and it is actually real! For some reason there is no badge but you can get it. Wait 45/50 minutes in the hotel room, go to room 13 and wait for another 10/15 minutes. You should get Dread then.
There is a faster method: 1.- Continue until you find a room with clock (DONT OPEN NEXT DOOR) 2.- wait moving in the room 6 - 10 minutes (or when the clock is like this 🕛) Note: form here is 3 paths; get killed, "in my time" badge and "not my time" badge. Get killed: when the screen start to get in a gray scale, wait and dread is going to kill you. "In my time" badge: when the screen enter in the gray scale, open the next door. "Not my time" badge: when the screen enter in the gray scale, wait spamming the crucifix (CAUTION: you can accidentaly use the crucifix in the screeches.) That is a little guide to summon dread, sorry for the typing errors, if you want you can leave a like :] .
Y’know, it’s irrelevant but I feel like doors should bring back the the first version of the game for new players, have like a guiding light entity that follows you through every room and tells you an entity is coming and how to avoid it. And of course they would remove things like the greenhouse, door 100 would go back to its original state and probably have some nerfs too. Rooms wouldn’t be accessible from there so you don’t have to go through the gate in the dark room. And some other things too. Idk, I think it would really help new players learn how the game works. Of course, the game in its current state would still be available to all players, new and experienced. I just think this should be an option.

If anybody is seeing this after the mines update, Dread spawns when the clock hits 12 in any room with clock. In the mines, he spawns 10 minutes after constantly moving in most rooms
How you find dread right now is that you have to open doors until there’s a room with a round clock then keep acting like your lost “btw you can’t be afk or your not gonna get him” then it should turn dark and that’s when scratch can spawn. Keep doing it and you should get it “you also get the dead of night badge”
It is, I literally got the badge and him today with my cousin 🙂 how to get him : go to a room with any clock, wait around 10 minutes (12am in game if you see on the clock) sometimes its a around 12:40am in game till he spawns but yea, you can’t open the next door or go near it but if you do he won’t spawn also you can’t go afk you must be active. Signs he’s coming : lights breaking randomly and when he comes you’ll get this white glow on your screen and hear noises he will slowly appear, to get rid of him use a crucifix or open the next door. I think he spawns differently with the new floor update. You have to stay in only one room with a clock continuously moving (don’t stop moving or the clock won’t move) and once it reached 12 he will spawn. once he spawns you can escape by getting to the next room.
Fun fact: if you have an open door after room 13 and the lights shines in, you can see dread if u have brightness up at max (pc settigs or phone) he chases u around the room until he gets u and u cant outrun him so to survive him u need to get to the next room/open the next room door
to save your time: yes, dread is a real entity, there’s two badges for surviving and crucifying him, “dead of night” which is for surviving him, and “it’s not my time” for crucifying him
Remember when you spawn the dread if you want to get the badge "The dead of night" Do the same time the 12 o clock and go to door 13 and if dread spawn quickly go to door to 14 to despawn dread you'll get the badge.
He is now added u can get him by any door and find a clock and wait till it hits 12 am in game and when u hear the music and screen goes gray go near a door to get out and when u do u will get a badge "tick goes the clock"

theres no point to anti afk tho, the owner makes money from premium users afking. and there isnt much advantage to afking in the first place

In floor 2, go to room 2 and wait 10 minutes and dread will also spawn.
How you find dread right now is that you have to open doors until there’s a room with a round clock then keep acting like your lost “btw you can’t be afk or your not gonna get him” then it should turn dark and that’s when scratch can spawn. Keep doing it and you should get it “you also get the dead of night badge”
It is, I literally got the badge and him today with my cousin 🙂 how to get him : go to a room with any clock, wait around 10 minutes (12am in game if you see on the clock) sometimes its a around 12:40am in game till he spawns but yea, you can’t open the next door or go near it but if you do he won’t spawn also you can’t go afk you must be active. Signs he’s coming : lights breaking randomly and when he comes you’ll get this white glow on your screen and hear noises he will slowly appear, to get rid of him use a crucifix or open the next door. Your welcome!
I think he spawns differently with the new floor update. You have to stay in only one room with a clock continuously moving (don’t stop moving or the clock won’t move) and once it reached 12 he will spawn. once he spawns you can escape by getting to the next room.

Fun fact: if you have an open door after room 13 and the lights shines in, you can see dread if u have brightness up at max (pc settigs or phone) he chases u around the room until he gets u and u cant outrun him so to survive him u need to get to the next room/open the next room door
