I love how most of your decor ideas are very affordable/accessible…like they’re less about buying things and more about new/alternative areas to put things you already own
I love to see hear about your life and how you are not bothered by the way things I see in the world today and I love to re purpose things that just thrown away and I am sorry I didn't get it.. the big picture of my life and I hope you can forgive me for not believing I just wanted you to know that I am ill and that I am not looking too far into the future ..I am greatfull to get to know you.♡
I just reupholstered my manky dining chairs with green corduroy and that move was heavily influenced by Paige. The fabric was less than $20 from the bargain bin and it just was such a small thing that's brought me so much joy.
I totally agree about decor in closets. I started hanging sentimental pieces that I didnt want displayed in other parts of my house in my bedroom closet
Art in cupboards and behind shelves - What a brilliant idea Paige! No designer has ever said that before :) I bet we'll see it a lot from now on from influencers and makeover shows! I'll certainly be doing it x
I absolutely love your stuff. I would love to hear your advice on home decor based on the location you live in. I live in Austin TX and everywhere you go it’s all architecture and decor pieces that are more desert themed (clay, terra cotta, jute, linen, cactus and agaves, leather, and more southwestern fabric prints). If I were to decorate my home in a city-like style, it would feel very out of place. I would be curious to hear your tips for decorating if you live in the desert (without it being too “cowboy”), if you live in the mountains (without it being too “log cabin”), if you live on the beach (without it being too “mermaid”) or if you live in other environments. Maybe a large city or a tropical environment
Here is my trick to add texture via fabric. Get a double rod dishtowel. Put a fancy bright and colorful one in the back rod and a plain simple one that you will use in front. Brings soo much warmth. I just love decorating with fabric...
I wonder if this is her type of content considering she doesn't have kids. It might be, but I think there are other TH-camrs who can best speak to this like Lisa Holt or Julie Khuu.
I always love a Scrooge candle. My infatuation started when I was little and would watch the Nutcracker… when Clara sneaks downstairs and has her little candle lit. The dream vibe.
This view, this corner of your place is lovely. The "leftover" shoot branches & tulips, the fireplace tile and your window blind -- textures, lines -- it's really working. Also love that green sweater. (Find myself commenting on your sweaters!)
Your ideas are so innovative! I refreshing to see interior design on you tube that is not a replica of every one else. As in, monochromatic white, white, white, beige with touches of black from Home goods, hobby lobby, Pottery Barn....ad nauseam. Thank you for your inspirational video.
I've been kinda squashed with work but my apt needs a freshening up and spring cleaning. So I started small due to time constraints. First up was my underwear drawer. I went out and bought several pair of new underwear, all the same. Then I discarded the cacophony of mixed styles and colors patterns in my underwear drawer, and neatly folded and placed the new inside. Now I can easily close the drawer and it looks simple and easy inside. Next up: sock drawer.
Decorating a linen closet like a vanity is such a fun idea. I have art behind my plates on my open shelves, but I also have open shelves in my closet that could use some pizazz
my parents legit carry around scrooge candles whenever the power goes out (like they own flashlight lanterns but i guess they like the candle vibe and i can't argue)
Keep the mortadella poster! This is just a personal taste thing/opinion, but I (an inexperienced person who’s only interior design experience is planning out my dream home/mansion in my head) hate when people see art with food or whatever and only think to put it in the kitchen. I think it’s a cliche, and it just makes all kitchen art look the same. I think art should be determined by where it looks best, not what room the theme of the art fits in. A painting of wine or tomatoes on a cutting board doesn’t HAVE to go in the kitchen, it can be put wherever the painting looks good. I think the poster is a cool piece and would go well in many places in your place
Agree. I personally have a painting of dead sardines in my bathroom and a VERY daring photography of an ass in my kitchen. I think this is so funny. People are confused.
Agree with everything, such awesome ideas! My old cat passed away and I put a lil frame of him in my medicine cabinet next to my skincare - it makes me smile seeing him every morning and night! I also like to display fruit but at the moment it's inviting in the fruit flies (summer here in New Zealand) so I shall wait till it cools down 🪰
I now finally know where I need to hang that vintage photograph in a teak frame that my mom took of some bridge in the city. Over the light switch in my bathroom looks perfect!
You're adorable, "If you have kids you could try..." lol. I can't even get my kids to put the dishes in the right places after 17 years of them being in the exact same spot. I hope you're not offended, I just giggled so hard.
Great point but I keep my apartment quite warm in winter so I do have to refrigerate some things but if I’m using them soon-I don’t & it’s also a great way to eat healthier because if I see the fruit out or the veggies, I make sure I eat them And then have a donut or pastry w/coffee 😜
I tend to keep most produce in the fridge to avoid fruit fly infestations. I feel like if I leave bananas on the counter for more than like 8 minutes I’m not going to be able to breathe without inhaling a gnat 🙃
My favorite tips you shared are taking a linen closet and use shelves take off the door and make it look pretty in addition to storing your stuff. Adding personal photos above light switches. Placing produce on your counters in pretty bowls. You have a nice eclectic style and there were a lot of cute takeaways.
YESSS to lightswitch photos. We had a photo of this woman who was like a friend of a friend, who'd done a self portrait, at my old place, and it also meant it was a perfect spot for people to see it and ask about it. Also not everyone agrees, but I hate when alll the art in a house is at eye level (or really men's eye level), switch it up! Align something to the top of the window, hang something just an inch off the table or shelf it's on. Composition over tradition.
Flower frog -- I have a couple and I love using them because you can make an arrangement in very different vessels -- even a shallow bowl. I like your ideas of putting art in unusual places. I like the "above the door" and "above the light switch." I paint and sometimes I put art pieces i make in my cabinets. I like the vibe of where you are sitting tonight. The branch behind you lit up looks lovely.
Hi Paige enjoyed the video, thankyou. I also thought above a light switch would be a cute place for a tiny art piece (actually a lil square handmade plate with a fish on it). HOWEVER, after I'd banged a nail in & hung it, my bf pointed out that I could easily have banged my nail into the electrical wire running to the switch! Yikes! Luckily it was fine, but I'll probably go for an adhesive fixing next time! Also, I have one of those over-cupboard-door towel rails for tea towels, & it's so useful BUT drives me crazy cos it clanks & slides about; I'm looking out for something to upgrade it to being fixed instead. Clanking things craze me, but I do have Asperger's, so could be that.
Yes to two sofas or different chairs. Love chairs but they are big & don’t seem to quite go with couch so well. Just my two cents. Came for the design per Caroline Winkler. Stayed for your personality & style. Go forth & concur! ❤
On the topic of daybeds, I've really been into daybeds in office spaces lately. Like, who doesn't want to have a quick lie down between work stuff? Haha I really hope you don't get rid of your fabulous chairs btw, I've grown weirdly attached to them lol.
Ok, Daybeds. Super great! Get two; you can keep the back on one and leave the other flat. you can get built in end trays... The BEST thing is that you have guest beds! They are flat, so they do make a nice bed, fairly comfortable for most. Also, they kind of flat pack back down so they are easy to store in a closet or corner of your garage if you need a break. Easy to move. So easy to reupholster. Great low profile and clean lines. Great idea, get two! Herman Miller has great options; with backs, without: with arms, without; With trays, without...
Paige please make a video about what did you regret or you don’t like anymore or maybe if you fall for a trend but it is a bit tacky now. Would love to see.:)
Thank you for mentioning Food as decor. I thought I was a weirdo with my seasonal displays of squashes or apples or grapefruit……. Also the reupholstered furniture gets my vote.
Yes to comfy and just being true to your own personal design style. Digging that you are doing pillows with cord/ piping. They keep their shape better and just look so much more substantial and generally fabulous ❤
I can't sleep, and your videos are so relaxing and realistic and down to earth, that I love watching them in the wee hours of the morning when insomnia kicks in. I'm trying really hard to declutter/redecorate my apartment, but it seems the more I try, the messier it becomes. I hafe mega anxiety over how to get everything I own to fit into new furniture pieces I've bought, and how to get rid of more of that I don't need. I'd love to have a sleek, pulled-together space, but right now I have 2 bedrooms full of stuff crammed into a 500 sf apartment, and it's hard to let go of enough to make it look curated and not cluttered. Anyway, I love your videos and get a lot of inspiration from them.
By the way I just have to tell you that your place is already looking amazing Paige! I was excited to see you actually got the entertainment center that you wanted 😍
Lol I put a photo above one of my light switches a few months ago but I would knock it down every single time I reached to turn the light on in the dark😌 It made me so crazy I had to take it down. But it looked so cute while it was there!
I love your voice and your practical approach towards decor. Comfort is huge why have a place you have to tip toe around when it’s suppose to be home 🏠 ❤👏🏼👏🏼
What’s great about reupholstering is most older sofas and chairs were so 🥰much sturdier 20 or more years ago. To buy something really well-made today you will literally have to spend a small fortune. If you have older, well-designed sofas, chairs and ottomans, reupholster, reupholster, reupholster,
Have you seen the woman on Tiktok who adds decor to the inside of her fridge? Talking about adding art to your pantry, etc. reminded me of this. Would like to see your reaction to her fridge decor!
There are times when I also wonder if I think about interiors way to much but can't help it ... Just the way my creativity goes at the moment. As opposed to the morning anxiety, I get mine in the evening, when it happens I know it's time to turn off. Great vid as always, thanks Paige xx
Hi Paige (big fan of your work)... I was wondering if you could do a video on different decor styles. I feel like I know what I like, but it's hard when it comes to explaining my vision to other people and knowing what words to use when searching for pieces
It makes me feel a lot better that you are changing your mind on your chairs. I always feel super guilty when I realize something doesn't work. But I shouldn't! I say go for the day bed or get armchairs that swivel.
Please make a video about fixing kitchens and making them cozy. I have oak cabinets and I’m not sure if I should paint them dark green or restain a darker color.
My unique art placement is my wardrobe. I have art hanging in my wardrobe above the shelf that holds my jewellery and perfume. Most people think it’s weird but I like it. I have art in my kitchen, office, bathroom and I’m waiting to get some framed for my entryway and hallway. Art everywhere!
When you say most ppl think it’s weird - as in… you’re showing someone around your place and they say ‘that’s weird’ or more as a general concept ppl think it’s weird?
@@vaderladyl I’m on the minimal side so my open shelving units in my wardrobes aren’t all full of clothes. I’ve done the same with the wardrobe in my office/spare room. It also has hanging rods, with a built in stacked open shelf system and chest of drawers. I keep some of my books and office supplies on the shelves and two of the shelves have medium sized artworks and then most of my office supplies are in the drawers. Each time I open the door it’s nice to have a fresh, clear space with something beautiful to look at. I don’t like clutter but nor do I want it too sparse. 🤗
Hah! I bought a couple of very cool black metal modern Scrooge candle holder for my bathroom. Just got a Danish 1940's armoire that semi-matches my 1960's new old couch and chairs. And a lot of old fashion lamps. And shades and lamp bases that don't seem like they go together but weirdly do.
above the door and light switch pictures are truly my favorite thing to do when i’m not sure what to do with small paintings and photos i own. you’ve got the best tips :-)
Thanks for the flower frog tip, it's extended my flowers lives by a lot. Comfort over everything, absolutely. I'm a mother of four children and I agree, I just insist on beauty.
I feel like one thing with reupholstering is its important to use the right kind of fabric!! I've had this thought a few times when you've been talking about just going to a normal fabric store 😬 need something with nice heavy weight and durable weave
@@vaderladyl Totally, maybe nit picking but Paige doesn't mention it just if with the video being educational to the masses etc etc. Also re some of the fabric choices she made don't feel quite right (maybe just doesnt come up well on screen?) and I think maybe they not upholstery specific fabrics? Dunno. Anyway love Paige and watch all her vids so not a hater just thinking it could be interesting for her to go into this more esp coz she mentioned she's delving more into fabrics
Loved seeing miss Goo in that old photo of your sofa ❤ so much great advice in this one! It aggravates me that I haven’t been able to score many great items in thrift or secondhand stores around me :/ I don’t think my area generates quite the selection.
the little art tip is great. I have a few small things I ve picked up here and there but never found the “right” place for. over a light switch? why not
Thx for not just spewing the same thing everyone does. I love the photo above your light switch idea. It’s like adding a lil photo to your wedding bouquet or something. You would look at it more there. It’s something nice to carry. As for art anywhere - I agree with you but I swear if you start putting art and flowers in your fridge… I will be out so fast and unfollowing! 😂 I looked quickly at your store and you have Turkish kilim pillows on there! Omg I’ve been liking pillow cases like this on Etsy for ages!!! I’m so set now - when I’m close to moving into our new home, I’m into it!! 💵 😂
Cool vid. No offense to your towel rack, but the over the cabinet ones can be super annoying. Because you try to dry your hands and they come loose. I just got rid of mine and instead installed a 10 inch drawer pull. Looks the same, won’t budge. Just a thought.
I am all about big-ass bookshelves. We've built them in every house we have lived in and people love them as much as we do. It's actually a big selling point.
Good vertical storage is such a necessity. I've also learned from living big and small that I like smaller rooms better, they're much more cozy and economical. I had a huge kitchen and I got so tired of walking back and forth, a smaller galley is much easier to work with, just have a good pantry nearby.
Always surprised by things that are standard here which may not be standard in USA. Like tea towels on display in your kitchen. We mainly hang them on the oven door in Oz. Also fruit bowls on display in kitchens for quick grab and go are standard in virtually every home here.
They're the standard in the US as well! It's really popular to change your tea towel seasonally as decorations. I display my Halloween ones all year tho. And I think fruit bowls are universal
Love all the things your loving! And love the idea of a day bed/ coffee table. That said, if you do that I would keep the chairs rather than swap them for a couch. I think it would be a lot of similar shaped if you had 2 sofas and a day bed. The chairs add visual interest! A coffee table/ day bed that ties in the wood from the new vintage wall bookcase/TV case would be so beautiful!
I love hanging art and photos in less traditional spaces. I have a thick(?) open doorway between my living room and kitchen and I hung smaller frames on both sides.
I’ve been really into unique spots for art and small art and put a little framed piece on my fridge! The contrast of the fridge and print is fun and weird
Thanks for the tip Paige. I’m moving to another state, so I’m gonna have my brown corduroy daybed reupholstered to fit the warmer climate I’m moving to.
I love this video. So insightful and inspiring. I really love the cozy look and I get so much from your videos. I vote that you do a video with your sister again.
There are nails above the doors in my bedroom closet from the former owner, but I’ve never found the right art pieces! Grateful that she planted that idea though.
Add avocado! Lemons, apples or oranges, and bananas can be out. Yes almost all your fruit esp if you’re ripening them or eating them in a day or two. Once avocados are softish, keep in the fridge a few more days :))
Hi Paige! I'm with you on almost everything. Comfort is the main goal. I do think everything can flow from there. I hate a pretty room with no comfortable place to sit or lounge! I have 2 couches. both vintage mid-century that I found in the alleys when I lived in Culver City and had reupholstered. ( years ago) I also have a large bookcase in my apt. cool dishtowels, etc. I love that little artwork ( drawing?) in your medicine cabinet. :)) Also, gorgeous sweater. where did you get it?
I love how most of your decor ideas are very affordable/accessible…like they’re less about buying things and more about new/alternative areas to put things you already own
I love to see hear about your life and how you are not bothered by the way things I see in the world today and I love to re purpose things that just thrown away and I am sorry I didn't get it.. the big picture of my life and I hope you can forgive me for not believing I just wanted you to know that I am ill and that I am not looking too far into the future ..I am greatfull to get to know you.♡

Rule of thumb for produce: put it wherever it was in the grocery store. Don’t refrigerate tomatoes. They’re not refrigerated in the store.
Refrigerating tomats make them soggy.

@@lianebourke2113 general concept.
Most people don't think about putting art in their closets
@@vaderladyl I’m on the minimal side so my open shelving units in my wardrobes aren’t all full of clothes. I’ve done the same with the wardrobe in my office/spare room. It also has hanging rods, with a built in stacked open shelf system and chest of drawers. I keep some of my books and office supplies on the shelves and two of the shelves have medium sized artworks and then most of my office supplies are in the drawers. Each time I open the door it’s nice to have a fresh, clear space with something beautiful to look at. I don’t like clutter but nor do I want it too sparse. 🤗
@@kayelle8005 Indeed sounds like you have a nice space, and closets, for that matter.
*Geeking Out* . I have a "scrooge" candle on my coffee tray. Also, that green sweater...yum.
above the door and light switch pictures are truly my favorite thing to do when i’m not sure what to do with small paintings and photos i own. you’ve got the best tips :-)
Hmm I was thinking of hanging an art piece in my closet but I thought that might be silly but I guess its actually not a bad thought after all!
Omg I LOVE the daybed you’re into - I’m also planning out some metal furniture projects like this
It's been 13 days.. what's up?. Hope your ok and just preparing a mind blowing three hour long video??!!!!! Leaving us hanging here lady face!!
Yes it is important but fabric stores do sell upholstery fabric as well.
Paige plz do a “purchases or interior design decisions i regret making” vdo
Loved seeing miss Goo in that old photo of your sofa ❤ so much great advice in this one! It aggravates me that I haven’t been able to score many great items in thrift or secondhand stores around me :/ I don’t think my area generates quite the selection.
I love a good towel rack too. Artwork above your door frame is something I have never seen. Good idea.
the little art tip is great. I have a few small things I ve picked up here and there but never found the “right” place for. over a light switch? why not
"Hey, queen! Girl, you have done it again, constantly raising the bar for all of us and doing it flawlessly."
Your energy is my literal favourite
was not expecting the Portugal t-shirt on the sponsored portion of the video. Portuguese fans rise! 😅🇵🇹
I looked quickly at your store and you have Turkish kilim pillows on there! Omg I’ve been liking pillow cases like this on Etsy for ages!!! I’m so set now - when I’m close to moving into our new home, I’m into it!! 💵 😂
The photos above the light switches look so cute but please be careful hammering nails in that close to electrical cables!
I cannot have nothing so close to the light switch or I will knock it off the wall while groping for it in the dark.
Amen to that about the big/small rooms.
Thanks for sharing! This is really helpful to know! Pinterest and the photos Paige chose really do make the spaces look expensive and custom!
Same!
That green sofa at 9:24! Gorgeous.
scrooge candle + male nightgown is THE look for the boys this year
I've seen flower frogs at thrift stores more than once and always wondered what they were - now I need to find one again!
You're getting rid of that beautiful vintage sofa upholstery??? The print is so unique and absolutely stunning! 😭😭😭
The candle holder is called chamberstick candle holder, which uses tapered candles.
The daybed idea is something I’m going to think about for my space. I would of never thought about doing that.
I would say so!!!
Ha now that was well delivered Paige.
Comfy comfy very good.
The little dish rack over the cabinet door is such a good idea! Now I'm on the hunt for cool dish towels.
Garnier Thiebault has really amazing ones. They have sales somewhat frequently, as well.
@@friendosal6017 Thank you for the recommendation!
Anthropologie has some very unique ones. I have two folded on the handle in front of my oven and one on the door cabinet in my little bar area.
They also have the kind of flower frog that’s glass and sits at the top of a vase in case anyone wants more ✨options✨
i looooooooooove your chairs! they're beautiful in your space!
I have a small collection of frogs, I have bought them all at vintage and flea markets. Sometimes I arrange them in a cloche, they are really cool.
Thanks for the tip Paige. I’m moving to another state, so I’m gonna have my brown corduroy daybed reupholstered to fit the warmer climate I’m moving to.
Um brown corduroy sounds fabulous. Might want to sit on that a bit before changing it.
I love this video. So insightful and inspiring. I really love the cozy look and I get so much from your videos. I vote that you do a video with your sister again.
Paige, this video makes me think you’re entering the Nora Ephron phase of your life. I’m here for it
There are nails above the doors in my bedroom closet from the former owner, but I’ve never found the right art pieces! Grateful that she planted that idea though.
Paige please bring back the reviewing subscribers home series!!
Love your style. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
Add avocado! Lemons, apples or oranges, and bananas can be out. Yes almost all your fruit esp if you’re ripening them or eating them in a day or two. Once avocados are softish, keep in the fridge a few more days :))
Yes to your sister coming on the channel ⭐️
i love all these things. especially daybeds. people need to nap more.
Exceptional tips for creating home. I named my daughter Sophia so that poster would be a definite keeper for me😊!
Yeay, a t-shirt with the Portuguese coat of arms, so cool / "tão fixe" ✌️
A daybed? Your living room will be cramped.
I have a bed in my living room instead of a couch. I have chairs for sitting in.
Like your ideas a lot! And all of your content of course!
Have a good day too! 👍👍😄
You are the bomb! And frickin funny! And I love your ideas & yor general take on life♥️ thank you!
