    Thank you so much for posting this! It's so hard to get xiangqi material available to Westerners.

      Westerners who speak English. Other westerners are boned.

    I'd appreciate more content focused on general principles of openings. This was a good example of this particular scenario, but beginners would benefit most from looking at the big picture.

    Thanks for this I just started playing again after 2 years hiatus. This really helped brush up on my opening moves.

      @Emmanuel Alexzander I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now.
      Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    I wish this video came up in search first instead of stuff in Chinese.

    im very bad at chess and by the blink of an eye, my chariot die too many times. I forgotten where the pieces go after 1st scenario.

  • @floris737
    @floris737 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 1:10, why don't you exchange the chariots and get rid of the problem?

    • @vladimirmendoza2645
      @vladimirmendoza2645 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because beginners would rather take a free soldier than to exchange chariots

    at 3:09 why you dont kill the horse?

    • @TheCitizenship
      @TheCitizenship 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean the black horse, because the black elephant is guarding the horse. In my opinion, prioritising chariot over horse is better and most would agree. Chariot has better killing moves than horse in most cases..

    As a European, I failed to derive any opening 'priciples' from this video. In western chess, we would call this an "opening trap" instead.

      @@santiagomorales9129 exactly, maybe just maybe this is a different albeit similar game & the differences change the way you play it
