Impossible to translate it with total accuracy and still keep the syllables matching with minimal wording changes, but I tried my best
We are partisans - men of the green forest:
The forest cares for us and we love the forest!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
The forest cares for us and we love the forest!
In the forest there grow berries, in the forest there grow mushrooms,
That's the best food under Soviet rule!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
That's the best food under Soviet rule!
And when we grow tired, mushrooms to be tasting,
We go to a village - there we get some bacon!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
We go to a village - there we get some bacon!
      The moon is clear, the moon is shining;
To step inside, the village girls invite us!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
To step inside, the village girls invite us!
Gently hug, look into the eyes,
Put dried cheese into our backpacks!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
Put dried cheese into our backpacks!
Jacket on my shoulder, Nagant in my hand
      Lets ev'rybody know that I'm a partisan!
Džiun tralialia lia, džiun tralėlia lialia
      Lets ev'rybody know that I'm a partisan!

@@TRG_real You translate Soviet to your version of "council", from what little I know Lithuanian?
In Poland in the era unmourned we too got our "translation" forced down our throat- which is why the resistance then, and general population now insists on using the word "soviet"- to underline it being alien.

    • @TRG_real
      @TRG_real 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Mira-K Yup, "Tarybų Sąjunga". I never considered there being undertones to saying "soviet" vs. "council" tho since I always heard them being used interchangeably. I translated it here because most English speakers would be more familiar with the "soviet" name.

      @@Oberschutzee stop spreading false information.
In October 1944 (after the red army liberated Lithuania) they immediately started their thing. They shot everyone who agreed with the Soviet regime, even unarmed people, which means, even though the war was almost over, there still wasn’t peace in the Baltic. It’s the forest brothers who caused the deportation of thousands of people in the Baltics (including my grandfather). Especially in 1944-1946 the “Freedom fighters” actively fought soviet soldiers everywhere they saw them, hoping that the west is gonna pressure Stalin so hard that an independent Lithuanian Republic will be restored, but this never happened. After they realized this, in 1946 they started an active partisan war against the USSR. This time they didn’t attack the Soviet army on the first glance, but started an informational war, destroyed infrastructure and, as I said before, killed Soviet activists. The Soviet army also changed its tactics. They first tried to kill the leaders of the partisans and created “shoot on sight” battalions from the party members.
Lithuania was in a bad position because of them. Ambushes and attacks on villages, different terrorists attacks and killings in cities. In response of this - huntings and arrests. The tensions between both sides were rising. To fight with the “Forest Brothers”, the Soviet regime had to take the harshest methods: lit on fire, blowed up or shot farms of partisan families or their supporters, publicly embarrassed the bodies of the dead on city squares or villages and began provoking the partisan agents.
It is really a long story, but what we need to know:
74% of the people killed by the “forest brothers” were *civilians*
They *forced* the Soviet government to deport our people
      They killed *unarmed* Soviet activists
They were trying to destroy the Soviet army, even though, for them, it was impossible
Plus, a part which I didn’t mention, *they actively supported Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, as well as the Holocaust*.
Now, I hope, that my point is clear. All that our history books say is “kokia mūsų Lietuva gera”, and censor the parts where we really did bad things as a country. That includes the Forest Brothers, Smetona’s regime and collaboration with the Nazis. I am really, indeed, embarrassed that we are that way, and many of our people don’t understand this.
