Best Off Grid Campsite In The West Macdonnells | Serpentine & Ormiston Gorges | Episode 23

From one incredible off grid campsite to another as we continue our adventure through the West Macdonnell Ranges.
We leave the Hugh River camp and head to Serpentine Gorge for an epic view from the top lookout. We meet a travelling family who gives us a tip for another great free camp just down the road.
Setting off in search of the Finke 2 Mile campsite, we find a great spot right on the bank of the river. It's a cracking campsite and will be home for us for a couple of nights.
The following day we tackle the Ochre Pits and the incredible colours that can be found in this area. Liz is in heaven here as she explores the array of natural ochres and dreams about the art she could create.
Back in the car and it's off to Ormiston Gorge. We tackle the Ghost Gum loop, but with a twist. After a challenging but rewarding rock scramble and getting our feet wet we are rewarded with incredible views from deep in the gorge. Returning along the western side of the gorge via the lookout before descending the stairs back to the car park.

Haha loved your Camel story. We had a similar one at Loyalty Beach , the missus woke me up at 3am to say someone is trying to get into our camper trailer. When I unzipped the door there was a huge horse under the awning…. Not sure who was more scared as the horse bolted🤣🤣🤣

Loving the episodes guys!! Inspiring stuff. The only drama ive been having is the transition from voice audio to the music... the music is real loud and you guys are soft so im constantly turning the volume up to hear you guys then down for the music with the wife yelling " can you turn the telly down!!" Lol all good though maybe its my TV. Is anyone else finding this?

Enjoyed, beautiful spots, I made the mistake of walking the wrong way to a waterfall, Climbing out up over a hundred stairs was to much for an older fellow like me, Was passed by two older ladies, so embarrassing. They asked me was I ok, I said no , but I recovered just enough to get to the top. I was a tuff country boy once. 🐎😀🤠🇦🇺

Just a querying on the solar powers system you picked / ie total panel watts,battery,invertor,tristar manager dc2dc system etc ( basically what did you opt for your style of camping ).We have a trip planned to visit Zone in Jan 2022 already paid deposit not seeing van yet.
