Here we'll tie the Peacock caddis nymph by Kolbeinn Grímsson. Mr. Grímsson designed many great flies during his career as an Icelandic angler. The Peacock nymph is named after the bird and the majority of the fly is made out of the peacock hearl .... so... you guess.
The Peacock is most likely the most used nymph in Iceland when it comes to fishing for trout and arctic char. Peacock is as popular as the Pheasant tail nymph here in Iceland. It's an easy pattern to tie and just based on your preferences, you can pick if you want to make thick body of the fly or skip that. It's all in your hands, great fly that works so well.
    Pattern:
    Author: Kolbeinn Grímsson.
    Hook: Kamasan B175 #8.
    Bead: Gold or copper.
    Thread: UNI 8/0 black.
    Underbody: Thin wool thread.
Body: 6 - 8 strands of good quality peacock hearl.
All the best and thanks for watching. Please like, share and subscribe to the channel to help us to build up the community.

I saw this fly in a vid you did with Tim Camisa, tied some up and fished them as my point fly on a euro rig. The brown trout loved them. Thank you!

You are welcome Mr. Moffat and thanks for your comment! The Peacock nymph is really strong fly for brown trout.
