My heart skipped a beat when i saw the new aspect. I immediatley thought about you doing some crazy stuff with it. I LOVE playing Behemoth Stronghold Lament, your videos helped me discover a fun but challenging build for end game content.
I'm still relatively new (only about 200 hours atm) and man have most of those been on Stronghold. I just can't stop using it. When I saw the new aspect for strand I was unbelievably happy. This new aspect is a game changer!
I feel the sword change hurt aggressive frames more than they helped them as after a fully charge heavy you can't block for a while making you more vulnerable when the change was supposed to make swords better at defence
Its 10% for swords and 40% for melee (This includes glaive melee and uncharged melee which is sick) from what I've heard and my own testing. Sadly I don't know for sure if it stacks with surges but it should
How has the ammo economy felt with this build? One thing ive noticed by using other variations of the build is i run out of ammo quite easily if rng doesn't bless me with ammo drops.
Ammo economy is not very good right now with double special. You must play efficiently with both special and heavy ammo. Ideally, you'll want some sort of heavy ammo generation when playing, like Aeon or Cenotaph Mask. Solo wise, just hope rng will bless you if ammo runs out.
If we're talking solely about add clearing, I can see myself using it. But since it's close ranged, it may not be as efficient as other add clearing builds. You're pretty reliant on swords with sword builds; with the doble special nerf, it can be somewhat difficult to stay effective through the entire encounter. It's worth a try, just have a back up plan ready if it doesn't work out.
lament also has another set of issues w the sword rework, since lament's perk needs sword energy to proc the chainsaw, you'll inevitably reach the point where sword energy is zero and the heavy attack is a normal sword animation
I really like the new aspect but I'm disappointed something like this wasn't given to behemoth instead since it would do wonders for it's weaknesses as opposed to making an already insane subclass even better. And the sword changes REALLY make swords feel more clunky now.

Almost would prefer to run reaper with the mod that picks up orbs. Not that survivability is lacking or anything just feel it'd be a great way to get a couple of stacks of armor charge before going ham.
It would be great to have a few extra orbs, especially when the only source of orbs is the Siphon mod. I rarely think about using my barricade for an orb so I just doubled down with Time Dilation.
@@icantsleepman sure but atleast stasis freeze has shatter damage associated with it. If it's only gonna last 3 seconds on a Champion make it spawn one threadling or something
Dude. they butchered stronghold in pvp. you can't even tank 10 shots from a handcannon. that was literally 99% of the reason I even played this game anymore. My days of tanking golden guns, nova bombs, thundercrashes are just distant memories now. why did they have to do this, no one was complaining about it
@@Blanktester685 that's the entire goddamn point dude. You don't have heavy ammo 90% of the time. But when you do, it's like you have a roaming super. You can tank other supers, and weapons just tickled you. It was the same as running a super exotic like geomags, ahamkara skull or galanor. You have no idea how difficult it was to secure heavy ammo. I would have to base my entire loadout to playing fucking tower defense with glacier grenades and barricades to ward off the entire enemy team to get the heavy for myself (and the single teammate that occasionally helped me) It was a rush, a high, that continued when I was out of heavy because then I would have to prepare for the next spawn, gather special for my shotgun or sniper, and play tower defense again, to basically recharge my "super". It was fun. It was balanced. No one was complaining. Everything is now gone. I actually have no reason to play this game anymore. All I did was to make it work in PvP. I ran duality like a madman, just to get heartshadow and have a different kind of "super". I leveled up my throne cleaver day and fucking night so that I could unlock valiant charge to have a different kind of fun, I grinded my ass off for high stat Armor to 100s in both resilience and discipline. Every single one of my atom was dedicated towards this. Now it means jack fucking shit when I can't even tank 10 goddamn shots from a hand cannon. What kind of fucking shit is that. I don't know what to do with this frustration and anger and sadness

Sword guarding is too busted now. No brain or skill required. All you need to do is put on lament and stronghold and equip the new strand aspect. This combo has everything in it (95% dmg reduction + restoration combined with pulse healing + 10% sword buff at ALL TIME). It will def get a nerf at some point, maybe soon.
A sword is a sword, still riskier than 99% of other loadouts. And doesnt give much damage cos swords are still mid at dps, and can only be used in like 3 raid encounters in the first place. Let alone the fact swords havent been meta since atraks. They arent gonna touch them and dont need to
@@ADoomain I used to main sword + stronghold for almost a year, so I partially agree and understand your points. Neither do I want to see a nerf but I am certain Bungie will def touch it at some point. Prob put in a damage resist cap like 60% from all possible sources.
@@Maxtackk swords themselves are still awful though, theyre only semi viable with the help of things like strongholds and banner of war, so if u want to nerf them maybe. But the only thing is the damage resist, everything else (damage, range, ammo etc) are all outclassed. And the thing with damage resist is you lose most of it once you actually use your sword to do damage, so your back to vulnerable. So if swords are broken for going afk as a tank bot then sure but other than that theres nothing
I'd honestly wish they'd reduce the amount of damage resist for additional damage for swords across the Board. They feel terribly slow now compared to some of the top choices
