Best is K ride to build a big ring track around bangalore. Independent of the existing Indian railway tracks. Inside the city we can have Metro connecting this ring at several points. Another suggestion is we have different gauge of tracks. Standard gauge for Metro and Broad gauge for IR and Kride trains. If we have a common gauge, then we can have the benefit of running anytype of train anywhere.

As a stop gap solution, the authorities could have started the services with the ICF local train coaches or vande metro type coaches on the existing infrastructure itself. Seems like we have a fascination for doing projects from scratch rather ran utilizing the existing resources. I have a few thoughts on the BSRP alignment that I’d love to get your opinion on: Kanaka Line Alignment: To me, it would make more sense for the Kanaka Line to extend towards Kasturir Nagar after Benniganahalli and eventually reach Chikkabanavara. The Mallige Line could then start from the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur ramp area, moving towards Channasandra and eventually Rajanukunte. With the current proposed alignment, both Namma Metro and BSRP (Kanaka Line) would share piers near Kasturi Nagar, after which the BSRP line continues towards Channasandra. Honestly, this feels like a suboptimal solution. There’s concern about potential disruptions to Bengaluru’s “Cherry Blossom” trees in the area, which could be impacted by construction. Mallige Line Extension through SMVT: Wouldn’t it make more sense for the Mallige Line to pass through the SMVT station after Banaswadi? From there, it could continue towards Baiyappanahalli, providing an interchange with the Parijaata Line, and then ascend the ramp towards the proposed Benniganahalli station. Sevanagar Flyover: I’m pleased to hear that the Sevanagar flyover will be rebuilt. The current design is quite narrow and doesn’t meet the commuting needs of the area. Hopefully, the new design will offer a more efficient and user-friendly solution to alleviate traffic in that part of the city.

Land acquisition will be the biggest challenge. In chennai MRTS the 7 KM line from Velachery to St.Mount is still going on, 12 years since its work commenced. The key to get projects like these expedited is in keeping the Central Govt. in Delhi enthusiastic about the project. Another point to note is not to plan for 9 bogie line instead they should plan for 12 bogie train. The current frequency on Chennai MRTS line from Velachery to Beach station is 25 minutes. Indian railways says they dont have 9 bogie trains and hence the frequency of trains has been reduced. Damn that's a complex project. I have one question, should have kride have bulit a continuous viaduct like how china constructs to cross through populated area....ik this will increase the cost but should have done easily because area required for pillere would be less and there will be no issues for gradient and levelling.....????

Best is K ride to build a big ring track around bangalore. Independent of the existing Indian railway tracks. Inside the city we can have Metro connecting this ring at several points. Another suggestion is we have different gauge of tracks. Standard gauge for Metro and Broad gauge for IR and Kride trains. If we have a common gauge, then we can have the benefit of running anytype of train anywhere.

Kanaka Line Alignment:
To me, it would make more sense for the Kanaka Line to extend towards Kasturir Nagar after Benniganahalli and eventually reach Chikkabanavara. The Mallige Line could then start from the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur ramp area, moving towards Channasandra and eventually Rajanukunte.
With the current proposed alignment, both Namma Metro and BSRP (Kanaka Line) would share piers near Kasturi Nagar, after which the BSRP line continues towards Channasandra. Honestly, this feels like a suboptimal solution. There’s concern about potential disruptions to Bengaluru’s “Cherry Blossom” trees in the area, which could be impacted by construction.
Mallige Line Extension through SMVT:
Wouldn’t it make more sense for the Mallige Line to pass through the SMVT station after Banaswadi? From there, it could continue towards Baiyappanahalli, providing an interchange with the Parijaata Line, and then ascend the ramp towards the proposed Benniganahalli station.
Sevanagar Flyover:
I’m pleased to hear that the Sevanagar flyover will be rebuilt. The current design is quite narrow and doesn’t meet the commuting needs of the area. Hopefully, the new design will offer a more efficient and user-friendly solution to alleviate traffic in that part of the city.

In chennai MRTS the 7 KM line from Velachery to St.Mount is still going on, 12 years since its work commenced.
The key to get projects like these expedited is in keeping the Central Govt. in Delhi enthusiastic about the project.
Another point to note is not to plan for 9 bogie line instead they should plan for 12 bogie train. The current frequency on Chennai MRTS line from Velachery to Beach station is 25 minutes. Indian railways says they dont have 9 bogie trains and hence the frequency of trains has been reduced.
In my opinion the chennai MRTS is suffering because of the antagonistic attitude of central govt. to any thing related to TamilNadu and chennai

I don't get it whats the point in adding a suburban line on the same route as metro, Shouldn't the suburban line target outskirts . bring people from suburbs to city. This looks like stupid planning . Suburban should take people from dodballapur,hosur to Bangalore not competing with metro. Infact suburban has no business to make trips within city limits, thats metros job. It looks like they are building Suburban to compete with metro which is pointless.
