    In this video, we will first build our simple topology using traditional VLAN and then we will modify our config to VXLAN. The simplest possible topology is used to keep things simple and to learn different steps of VXLAN configuration first. Once we understand how VXLAN is configured, we can use the knowledge to configure VXLAN for bigger topologies as per our needs and requirements. Configured on Cisco Nexus 9K's on EVE-NG.

    is this pretty much the same as 802.1q or router on a stick? if you could do a break down of the differences that would be lovely. Thanks for the video.

    Very informative. I have a scenario - I have VXLAN with EVPN with BGP underlay. There is no "spine" host. Only two leafs - Nexus 93180 both. I have the BGP going on vlan 100. Sessions established. How should I configure ethernet ports facing down inside network if I have Cisco Nexus 3064 connected there and want to keep port in trunk mode?
    It's like:
    Nexus3064 -trunk- Nexus93180 -evpn-vxlan- Nexus93180 -trunk- Neus3064. Vlan 100 - used for bgp overlay. Vlan 1234 is supposed to be transported. How should I configure port between N3K and N9K? On N3K all vlans i want to transport is in trunk. I hope I explained it well.

      Have you tried configuring a normal switchport as trunk? If yes, what issues did you face?

    • @B_S123
      @B_S123 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CCIEOnTheSpectrum of course, but then no macs from NVE are reaching N3K.

      @@CCIEOnTheSpectrum do you have experience on VXLAN only with leaf switches?

    • @CCIEOnTheSpectrum

      @@B_S123 No, I didn't. Why would you do that? Nevermind, I am always trying such unusual things as well :).
      It should work, though. NVE is a logical interface that resides behind the physical interface. It shouldn't matter how many hops away the other VTEP is. I suggest putting a spine in between and seeing if that works. You will know what you are missing.

      @@CCIEOnTheSpectrum I just happen only two units at the time (2x 93180YC-EX), two more will be installed later. I just want to extend L2 over EVPN/VXLAN over them for future more complicated use. Cannot get it working tho, however the mechanism seems to be working fine.

      I think NO. VXLAN is a more advanced feature found in Cisco Nexus series switches and other modern data center platforms.
