I consider this movie as my own biography because it resonates a lot with my life. Can't thank you enough for Imtiaz Ali for making such a life changing movie. I left my job and went into doing business just because of this movie, and I am still not there where I want to be but still this movie give me motivation whenever I feel lost.

I wish Tamasha was a success. The point of the movie was something so many ppl (especially indians) could relate to. The story telling however was so unique and intricate that it couldn't capture the masses. An example would be 3 idiots that touched a similar subject but didn't dwell in the complexities.
OMG! 3 idiots and Tamasha has similar subjects??? I agree that the style of story telling in Tamasha was very unique which did'nt get digested by common indian people ..mostly salman fans.
Imtiyaz script was a Masterpiece.
You are right those two films have same topic that is no matter what follow your dreams . But tamasha's storytelling is something different. 3 idiots also goes back and forth but tamasha deals with alternate reality. But I loved both of them .

The closing melody says too much about the character of Ranbir Kapoor in the movie. Safarnama dignifies his revelation of himself, when he breaks free from all the shackles that held him too long. He walks towards his dreams, his love perhaps. "Jisse dhoonda zamaane me, khudi me tha"

The audience and critics were so unfair to the Tamasha (both and movie and its music) when it released. It is an artistic masterpiece and is among the career-best work of Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman, Irshad Kamil, Ranbir, Deepika and entire cast & crew. A classic example of how a few critics can singlehandedly ruin well-made works of art. Thankfully the film is gaining a cult following now, but its commercial failure must have been so discouraging for everyone who put their heart and soul into it.

I just loved this movie so much, watched it while I was living in US . The theatre was not too filled there too. Don't know why it garnered not much love in India. Every little thing in the movie was so deep. Its very well written and acting was touching
