Great work. You always look at the camera seems more professional than most. One comment, on a custom post type, you wouldn't want to overwrite the SEO variables. Because you would be giving the same values for multiple posts, and thus possibly throw a duplicate content penalty. Whereby leaving them alone targets better.

This was helpful. Another valuable walkthrough would be for the Event CPT leveraging Elementor Pro-customizing the add item form with more fields, as well as building the Details, Archive, and Item templates that display the events on the frontend (that is, not using the default Places templates). And even better would be to include setting up tickets sales-effectively, an end-to-end solution for event listing customers.

That's a great idea. I'm planning out my next group of videos right now, so I'll get that on the list, and comment here once it's live. Thank you!

I know it's 9 months later, but I did get that GeoDirectory Events video done if you are still interested: th-cam.com/video/xkmaOANh43k/w-d-xo.html

Hi Nicole, nice videos. Do you know if it is possible to delete any CPT, I would like to delete gd_place or replace it for another with better name? Thanks.

HI and thank you! From what I can see, it looks like you can't delete or rename the Places CPT, but I'll double check for you and comment again when I have a definite answer

Ok, here is what I found out. Places is the only CPT you can't delete, but you can change almost everything about it in Places > Settings > General. There you can change the name, slug, etc to anything.

Thank you, how would I use these in practice. Say I want restaurants, places to sleep, events, and activities. Would I create separate posttypes, or would you create them as children of "places"?

You're welcome! everyone is going to have different CPT strategies, but in general you want to think about how it makes the most sense to organize them on your site. Events is almost always going to be it's on CPT with the Events add on. (video for that here: th-cam.com/video/xkmaOANh43k/w-d-xo.html). Remember you can also do categories in the CPTs

Are you able to do a video on the Link Post function for auto complete? I have been trying and it did not work as expected
