Surprised the 910th is still using the H model. I was working on these back in the early 90s at that unit.
More than 100 Hotel model are still in use to date.
@@p.c.9714 Wow it is good. In my country (Indonesian Air Force) the H model is still used and continues to be upgraded. Last month the IAF received the C130J to replace the C130B
My goal is to see a c130 soon, I’ve never seen one but I’ve heard them flyover my house
What a great noise. Love the four blade paddle props.
Think this is a J model with 6 bladed propellers.
@@animaltvi9515 It’s not. You can tell by the noise and the still of the aircraft in the thumbnail because of the shutter effect. The scimitar props seem much quieter because they produce a higher frequency sound. Also this one hasn’t had the engine updates that the J models got. You can tell because you can see the exhaust (which may be water injection that is no longer needed, not entirely sure on that point).
I’ve also flown in the cargo bay of an Air Guard H model. It’s a particular noise they make when the shockwave off the prop tips resonates with a deep rich tone that I can’t get enough. Fyi the P-3 Orion makes this same noise… same engines, four blade paddle props.
Herc sounds sweeter w/his four blade paddle props,& those Allison’s.
EPIC!! I get these alot at my area, though not alot videos of it since most of time is unexpected, but do got plenty from back then 2 years to now. And Super Hercs, too.

One of my favorite planes...very versatile, can land on challenging terrain (beach), carry several tanks, great defense (cannons, flares, guns), no wonder a lot of countries from around the world, has bought this great plane...
