God please if we could trade Geno to Denver for another haul would be great… just to trigger Perna
I honestly, HONESTLY, don't get the hate for Geno among some Seahawks fans. Whatever issues this team has had the last two years aren't on him.
Facts bro 🤦🏽♂️like did people forget how if it wasn’t for Geno making what was it 5? Fourth quarter comebacks this past season we’d be way under .500 our defense has been fucking atrocious especially last season
@@lirej2307 plus we lost both starting tackles, AND Geno was injured (mainly because the backups couldn’t block) for a fair amount of the season
@@DawnstealerGaming EXACTLY🤦🏽♂️thank you like you said I genuinely don’t understand the Geno hate it’s almost like some Seahawk fans want him to fail
@@DawnstealerGaming if you are fine with being a mid team, then Geno is fine (the guys best season is 9-8 in his entire career)
if you want to win, you find someone better.
Geno is 2-14 vs quality non-backup QBs.
@GreenBeanGreenBean maybe geno is 2-14 against good quality qbs cause our defense has played like one of the worst defenses in the league
The Geno trade rumors are not coming from the fans, they are coming from NFL insiders. A month ago Schefter et alia linked the Seahawks to the Cowboys in trade discussions for Dak. A couple days ago, Schefter said very specific things that fans ignored. #1 Geno was ONLY told he would be on the roster through the end of this week. #2 It was the "right thing" to lock Geno into a contract which other teams would find desirable during trade talks. #3 Seattle was "open" to any and all trade calls. Between the initial bombshell (for Seahawks) and his subsequent Tweet, Schefter said "several teams" were interested in trading for Geno. Teams rumored to have reached out to the Seahawks include the Bears, Steelers, Jets and a few other teams. Same dudes who said Seattle would never fire Carroll are now saying they will never trade Geno. LOL!!! 🤪
Geno is staying… he has arguably one of the best contracts in the nfl
@@BrandonJamesChin Ok so let's argue. Including bonuses, Geno could net just under $32 million next year. That is not a good contract anymore. The only guy on the list above him he outperforms is Daniel Jones and there are a bunch of guys on the list below him that outperform him like Justin Herbert. He does have value for other Win-Now teams with closing championship windows though, which is precisely why Schefter said we paid him "through the end of this week" at least, as several teams call about trades.
@@SuperZekethefreak if he hits his bonus. That means were good lmao. You would want him as your qb. Hes top 10
@@BrandonJamesChin Geno has never produced top-10 stats lmao. He gave us one decent season in his contract year, and then in 23 he regressed in every single category imaginable and only played well at the end of the season when he realized he was a cut candidate lmao. We need to move off of Geno while other teams are buying the hype and we can get something out of him that we can win with. No more 9/8 seasons followed by a victory cigar to celebrate your mediocrity. No more excuses that everything must be perfect for him to squeeze out that 10th win lmao. 🤣
@@SuperZekethefreak tell me you never watched a single seahawks game this season without telling me. Hes top 8 in completion percentage, qbr, td/int ratio. Your just hating him for no reason. Typa fan to want to have drew lock or minshew in at qb.
“A tush push merchant” 😂
That was savage
Geno will never be elite but he’s phenomenal value and definitely capable of winning a Super Bowl with the right roster around him.
My first thought is First Round swap with Raiders, their second this year, and their first next year for Geno. Might be too much idk, but something along those lines.
No. Keep him. Geno played fine especially given he was hurt for a good chunk of games (and missed some). He was playing fine before that injury which the NFL already changed the rules on (shocker, Seattle is the one team again to force changes, just like challenges with the Vinny crap).
Seattle was almost 10 yards per play last year. That was with a defense that had the 3rd worst 3rd down conversion % in the NFL and allowed 1/2 quarter SCORING drives routinely. WTF did you expect the offense to do? Nevermind Pete Carroll's Tecmo Bowl style offensive playbook that he forced Waldron to use (clearly abandoned 2022) because he was 'proud' or something of the shit pile he assembled on defense...
Geno is fine. Seattle has enough offensive weapons if they can get healthy on the IOL that you can plug guys like Brock Purdy (or any other 7th rounder behind) and succeed.
I still don’t get the Geno hate
I just watched Rob Staton say he’d trade Geno to the Steelers for a 4th round pick. Damn nearly had a stroke.
Except he didn't say that
@@iron_bison at 4:25 in the video where he talks about this
A late 1st /early second round pick + plus a player with upside is what I'd demand for Geno. The Seahawks would be foolish to give him up for less.
Can you IMAGINE how much the broncos fans would riot if they gave up another first to the hawks?
Overall, i think id pull the trigger on a late first or 2nd, 3rd, and conditional next season from 4->2 depending on escalators.
Note: id prefer to keep Geno for a year and then trade him. Solidify his value in the first round. The GB way
There could be a trade to the raiders, but I’m all for keeping geno too.
Great video!! As usual
Trade one of our most valuable assets, Pro-Bowler 2022-3? He is on a Franchise friendly contract...How about we take a closer look at some of the "fly-blown" jumbucks (Yes, less than flattering Aussie lingo.) on the O-line?? More than once last year, I saw Geno catch the snap in shotgun and was hit by a D-linemen as he caught the ball. How do you do anything with that? My point being, Geno did much more with less than most QBs in the League can.
Unfortunately you have a brain, a lot of people in our fanbase are braindead geno haters
Lol this whole Geno thing is such a waste of time. I'm over it. It's annoying 😂
I know it’s like the Metcalf thing from 2022 off-season and honestly still.
@@wrestlemarq1060 It's just all a distraction. If you agree Geno is so great fine, if you believe he isn't the future fine.
There is no "hating", it's just ridiculous.
I’m still in on Geno. Our OLine and Offensive Playcalling were both terrible this year, plus the bad defense. A 9-8 season was great under that consideration. I’m all for drafting a QB if we want too, but give Geno an opportunity under the new coaching staff, fix some of our other personnel problems, and if we draft a QB let them develop for a year or make the change mid season when they’re ready. The QB situation could be a whole lot worse than it is.
Great analysis. Keep GENO! Him and LOCK are an excellent duo, and the team could build up other parts of the team with the saved money. Let's see how the MacDonald system works with seasoned pros executing it. GENO was an asset last season, not the problem. Stopping opponents on 3rd down, and us converting on 3rd with better plays, are what has to be addressed. We need to sack the QB, O line consistently, and get some linebackers that can cover the short routes well.
Im all about getting real competition in there for him. Drafting a QB i know isnt the biggest need but if we bring in a young guy that coach Mac says "its anyones job" then Geno might have that fure lit under him. Worst case scenario: he doesnt have a great year and you can put the young guy in there to see what he can do. Best case scenario: Geno is good AND the rookie shows great things and you can trade Geno and start the rookie in 2025. Most likely scenario: Geno is fine, the rookie will get a shot at some point.
Unless they have a shot at a top 5 QB talent I can't see any sense in moving off Geno.
Not taking less than a second for him that's just giving away a top ten QB.
Hey, B, could you do a little diddy on Jaidyen Daniels? Could it even be possible to get him on our team? I think we need a running QB to make it a triple threat offense. 🎯💯
#Hawks4Life 💚💪🏾👊🏾💯💙
Absolutely great take on the Geno situation Brendon. 👍
even if the broncos would want geno, ain't no way they are gonna trade for another old qb from seattle haha
their fanbase might actually riot
I like Geno. I think we should keep him. HOWEVER! If there is a team in the top ten that is for some unholy reason wanting to trade for Geno? Maybe. But it'd have to be a first-round pick or two second-round picks minimum. Now before someone goes "bUt He'S nOt ThAt GoOd!!" Well, the numbers say otherwise. He's been top ten in most categories, top fifteen in others. Not to mention a great contract. But it just isn't going to happen. Maybe a weird qb for QB swap happens? But I still don't see that happening.
No one is trading even a second round pick you might get a third if a team is completely desperate also bringing up guys like hurts and herbert the reason they're getting paid more is not only because they're better but because of their AGE I don't think seahawks fans are even being realistic at this point like geno is nearly a decade older than those guys he's not getting any younger and his numbers have regressed since last season if we keep him another year and his numbers regress again guess what his value just dropped again and you're highly unlikely at that point to find someone willing to trade anything for him personally I dont care for another 9-8 "winning season" with geno if someone is willing to give up a third I'd take that let lock play qb for a year and probably have a terrible losing season and get a high first round pick to draft a qb
With his contract situation Geno is pretty interesting for teams that just need a QB to complete a roster capable of winning multiple playoff-games. Especially the Steelers and Falcons could be interested and I would consider Geno's value higher than a late first rounder as he would be really cheap for the next two years for those teams.
We traded Russ, trading Geno is definitely on the table especially with this years QB class. I'd still like to have him around to help develop a young guy tho.
I don't know why you are even talking about a Geno trade. That would leave a hole in the offense that is not easy to replace. I would leave Geno alone and let the cards play out with him on the team in 2024.
good video...i see a path to Washington maybe considering this...draft Daniels at two, make the trade for Geno at the current contract price as a bridge qb with some combo of seconds and or thirds-they have two of each this year-and possibly a '25 pick...Geno's from the area also...trade Hartman to try and acquire some draft capital....
Even if seahawks somehow trades up into the top couple spots and grabs one of the top qbs from the draft (not gonna happen but) it STILL makes sense to keep him on for a year. Cj shroud xoming in as a rookie and having the success he had as a rookie qb is almost unheard of. You still need that reliable veteran qb for atleast the 1st year with a good rookie qb.
Interesting take. Considering the fact that Geno Smith is valued higher than Fields in your opinion.
As with most hawks fans that vastly overinflate a players value.... nobody else will see value in trading for Geno....the guy is 34. He would fetch a 5th rounder at most.... probably much less. Trey Lance a former #3 overall pick was traded for a 3rd rounder. Bears can't even trade Fields for a 2nd rounder.
Nobody wanted to trade for Rodgers and that forced the Packers to sign him to that bonkers contract. Then the Jets got him on the cheap.
Geno fans: don't trade Geno!!! He's amazing!!
The league: zero contract offers after 2022.
Geno trade, possible but unlikely
Them damn tush push merchants
I'd love to see Justin Fields go to Atlanta
Give me TJ Watt and a 3rd round pick
Raiders dont have Garapolo
Late second seems to me to be the highest value for geno. And if you draft a high qb id do it
It's not about hating anyone. Geno is a great guy, he's OLD!
Yep and if he needs a great oline and a great defense how many years is that? 2? 3? Before that happens.
it's gotta be for a 2nd. nothing less, if we trade him we need to be able to get his replacement in the draft, and either have him start or sit behind lock (if we resign him) for a year
The only thing I don’t like about trading him is we still don’t know his true ceiling and in the new regime we could tap into that pretty easily
I made a mistake. Geno had five incentive bonuses and he didn't acheive one of those performance bonuses. I guess old and mediocre is your thing in a quarterback.
love geno but 20 for geno all day
The NFL rates Geno at number 18. As usual you know more than The NFL. Geno had four incentive bonuses that he could have made but he didn’t even make one of the four. I guess reality equals Geno hate. So be it.
What about NE’s 34th pick?
Trade him no question
With a solif offense like geno will play really well.
If Hawks draft a QB, Geno will be gone
What if we trade for fields and draft powers at 16?
Another year with Geno? REALLY!? Draft a QB and trade Geno! I'd rather suck with a rookie QB and pick high in the 2025 draft, than have another 8-9 or 9-8 season with Geno, sneaking into the playoffs and getting smoked in the wild card.. And who knows... Maybe the rookie QB will play like Stroud in his first season and no one knows who Geno was..
We don’t need to get ride of Geno we can pick our future qb that doesn’t mean get ride of him
Yeah because Geno was the problem with our subpar defense and bottom 3 performing offensive line 🙄. Give me a break dude, you goofballs lose all football credibility parroting this nonsense.
better get comfy lil bro geno is our guy next season no doubt
@@182Hardinglove to see someone who actually knows football way too many casuals giving there garbage opinions on these videos
@@182Hardingfacts 🤣like no one is saying Geno is this elite Mahomes type QB but he’s be soild for us the past two seasons
You not getting a first for a 34 year old qb ur tripping. At best a second
Geno to Chicago for Fields … reunites with Waldron. I love Geno but need to get younger and more athletic imo
Nope nobody giving up a 1 ..heck not even a 2…someone desperate might give up a 3…realistically a 4. And if I’m hawks u pounce on that offer.
You crazy a top 16 MAYBE top 10 qb is extremely valuable in this league a fourth would is nuts. Probably a second to high first
No your right no one’s giving up a 1st or a 2nd but that’s what he’s worth. I’m not giving up a QB who is Top 12-15 guy for a 4th round pick. It’s like a old vintage car that’s probably worth hundreds of thousands but no one’s gonna pay what it’s worth so you keep it and enjoy it for yourself.
someone like the browns, steelers, falcons could all use a qb like geno, idk if they would do a 2nd, but he is worth that. anything less isn't worth it for us to make it.
@@danielbrown9769 more like a 5th or 6th rounder.... the guy is 34
@@wrestlemarq1060genos more like my 99 7.3. It'll do a job. Leaks old. And though I appreciate it the day I can upgrade it I will.
Geno is never going to win a super bowl.
nothing wrong with Geno imo - no way you find as good a veteran for as team-friendly money. He'll be good for 2-3 more years, maybe even great with this new coaching staff and hopefully better drafting with the new influences / no more dinosaur PC
