      It is a blessing for Midzy’s. If this is what JYP is aiming for then you’re right. But it’s clear they’re trying to gain back Itzy’s popularity which means it’s not a good choice.

      Nah as good it is for the fans ,it's actually a really bad move. Having one solo at a time could've created anticipation which could have kept itzy in talks for very long time ,just like bp . Even tho bp is popular and big they knew it would go downhill if they didn't did something new ,which they did with solo releases. Even tho it was just one or 2 song it kept us so anticipated. Same happened with itzys studiochoom . Was just a simple dance but just look at the hype. Itzy are at the moment where their growth isn't showing. Instead of these many songs,they should've stayed low and create anticipation, but instead exploited them more. Even if they did a normal solo release of just one member it would've created hype . They should have done a sub until like seulrene. Literally that helped rv sm . Jyp is literally ruining them . Now even if they one solo album at a time it won't create that buzz. Only lias solo have some chance.

      @@remrunner101fr. while having lots of songs is nice the company needs to understand how much the public needs at the moment. itzy is having so many comebacks when they could have saved them from releasing some of the songs that resulted in the group losing popularity (CAKE ….)

      It definitely is. The likes on Untouchable and Born To Be on youtube are almost half of Cake , and those 2 videos have view counts less than 20% that of Cake.
      Views arent the only measure these days. It probably was in 2020 but not anymore.

      100% this like yes feed us but do it like every so often (the only one I can this k of that does this is K-pop but he also isn't is Dpr Ian he gives us a couple then stops and then gives us more. I think if more artist did that we'd be able to o catch up and give the songs views

      ​@@Iza580recently alot of groups do that. Alot of them do it differently for example NCT U/2023. They released the bside tracks with videos but not the whole songs.
      Most groups do one pre release before the title track MV. Because ITZY has released alot of MVs. MIDZY most likely wasn't sure what to stream.

      Well for me BORN TO BE wasn't the best and UNTOUCHABLE made me really like the comeback. Just different opinions.
      I as well thougth that it is the title. Because I don't jeep up with their schedules. I onlyndo that with my ults or some other groups I actually stan.

      Hylt MV was restricted in some countries for a while so many people werent able to stream it so I guess they streamed the dance practice

    Its such a shame. This is one of their best comebacks as of yet. I honestly think real talent doesn’t matter anymore. They put everything in this, listened to their fans switched up their concept like its honestly such a shame to see all of their time energy and most of all consideration go to waste.

    It's not Itzy, it's the ENTIRE industry. MV's aren't getting anywhere near the views they used to and we can see it reflected in ALL videos now having much lower budgets being glorified performance videos.

    If what they want is views, yes JYP should buy ads and views, but if they really want organic big views they should promote it better maybe and focus on only 1 title track, Itzy are not in a position to do this type of formula with JYP lack of investment in them, plus the competition is already fierce and too successful, so far only NewJeans & Ive managed to successfully trend multiple title tracks and pre releases recently

    The problem is that when they had a fairly good promoting, the tracks were not good, and the makes it feel like they're flopping. But in general, I think JYPE took the prerelease trend and went with it too far. It started with Stray Kids and the unveil tracks, then came the prerelease trend, started having them for TWICE in a normal way, then NMIXX, then made NMIXX perform a song during university festival season which they're promoting now as a prerelease, and they already have one, and then went batshit crazy and had 7 prerelease for ITZY's BORN TO BE.

      @@HaNsoloing I mean, it's not the standard thing to do. And even if they do not get promoted at the moment, Stray Kids usually perform them anyway in concerts and end-of-year shows. I think it makes sense to see which songs from albums get popular and then decide what to do with them. And most unveil tracks do get a mv so I don't complain about that.

      @@silviaricciardi4942 i know exactly what they do with songs and they do much, but it's still a miss not to promote a b-side alongside tts on music shows. It could easily give them even more exposure by making a b-side even more popular. Just look at megaverse with rockstar, or Item or superbowl with 5star, or queen venom with oddinary (almost 100m views!). Huge potential yet.. Domino (hopefully) got promotion and it had great results. Yt audio has under 50m views, imagine if Domino did have a full mv release, it would do even so much better. The only positive aspect is that the members don't have to do these promotions when their schedule is already so packed every year, and that means more rest for them, or more like less exhausting themselves and that's a good thing.

    i think there were too much pre-releases that they lost all the focus and attention for the title track.. here's how i would release the mvs :
    they should've releasd born to be as pre-release single, promote it for a while then drop the title track untouchable and start promoting both, then they start to release members solo mvs mid promotion of the album and at the end mr. vampire
    I believe that way the title track would shine

    I think they decided to not waste money on the ads and put them into more MVs. They bought 50 Million views in ads for Sneakers, and it seems that it didn't pay back, so they stopped promoting them this way. Some companies pumps a lot of money into the ads, for example 70M ads for Queencard or almost 100M ads for Batter up is insane amount and it require A LOT of money. If the income is less that the money pumped into the ads, they simply decided not to do it. Not to mention that Itzy is under different division that SKZ or Twice, so they make different promoting decisions. SKZ has around 12-18M ads each comeback and it never changes. Their division never pumped that much money into advertising, because SKZ always have many organic views themselves, like "Red Lights", "Circus" or "Christmas Evel" which have 100M views each without spending even one cent on the ads.
    And it seems that Itzy's division decided to take similar route and attract fans my releasing more music instead of pumping the money into the ads.

    i think he went all out with the pre releases bc he wanted to make people actually listen to itzy's b-sides bc sneakers left people judging itzy releases solely for the tt and none of the b-sides. it definitely hurt mv views immenseley, but mv views have generally gone down as streaming has waned down, especially for older group (even though itzy isnt that old they still are relatively older than most big 4th gen groups). i think the 5 solo mvs was a bit much still, what mightve been better couldve been medleys showcasing the solos and some sneak preview for mr vampire and born to be so people could tune into the whole album without thinking any of those songs was the title track (a lot of my frienfs were surprised to learn that mr vampire wasnt the tt 😭)

      The company not just one man* also sneakers mv views are decent. Both Cheshire and sneakers are over 100 mil. And I think both albums sold 1 mil. Idk how much the side tracks are streamed on Spotify but checkmates side tracks are well received on yt. Idk I think the company just wanted to use the nj trend but that’s not gonna work for itzy when they’re not well received by gp

    I feel like the problem is a mix of both. The girls have had a lot of previous releases + JYPE has stopped giving them ads for some reason, since Cake. 🤷🏾‍♀️ but either way, they’ll still pull through.

    JYP division 2 which Itzy is under never used to buy ads for GOT7 either so it might be the division that just decides not to do this. A lot of how division 2 moves for Itzy does remind me of GOT7's horrendous promotion. Even the way they're doing individual half MV's for this album is reminiscent of what they did with GOT7 for their Lullaby era with every member getting a solo track and half an MV.

    I think in general MV views are down. This is not just because TH-cam changed how views are counted but ppl aren’t streaming on TH-cam as much since the pandemic. Personally, I’m on TH-cam a lot haha so I like all the content but I can see how too much content can hurt views for the TT and cause confusion 😅

      Yeah, your theory is probably true tbh. Ever since I got into kpop about a year ago, TH-cam has been fucking VITAL so everyday, or basically, I'm on here listening to music (MVs , etc) and watching content.

    All these doom and gloom post on here are just bandwagon comments.
    Cake era didn’t get a lot of advertisement at all and Cake MV didn’t get any ads either and now sits at 72 million.
    If people really want to know if people really like MV’s take a look at the likes of a MV. Some of ITZY things may have low views but have more likes.
    ITZY never had big streaming numbers and are doing better this comeback than last comeback. untouchable has already enter the top 5 on Spotify for one of their most popular songs.
    They’ve been going viral for their performances as well.
    Also, what dance practice has more views? Old ones? Yes, of course at one point that’s all Midzy fans had for content.
    People want them to fail so bad, but they aren’t.
    Are people here for music or how many views or steaming numbers an artist has? Haven’t we learned by now that high MV views and steaming doesn’t necessarily mean quality either? Look at groups like Day6.

    It's the same with XG when they pre-release MVs every month. The views of each release are low because you don't know where the main track is. But I think they're just doing it so they can experiment with other songs that can fit for their group. My bad if the grammar is not that good 😅

      But what the strategy they did for XG was effective. Every song on the album was given recognition and was well promoted. It became effective because they gave those songs long promotion whereas for ITZY they pre-released the songs consecutively.

      They are defo doing better now than before in terms of numbers. Yh the mv views are lower but that's because they stopped paying for ads for the last 2 comebacks. Sneakers Cheshire and cake albums are their highest selling albums ever and there popularity seems to be growing more each comeback they are just gaining more haters each cb. And they are charting higher even after all the hate. But once lia does comeback and they have their second cb later this year I feel like the next cb will be even bigger than wannabe

    Well, I got to know Itzy thanks to ads. In The Morning came up several times as an ad before I gave up and give it a full listen because after listening several times I actually got to like it, so probably JYP is not doing many ads anymore for them since they're a very established group? Ads are not a bad thing, you can find interesting stuff.
    About them releasing many content, probably this can be the issue at hand. Not because people dislikes having this much content, but the time span between releases being short makes everyone go back and forth, deciding what to priorize to give attention. Again, not bad but if Midzy is working on a particular goal, it can explain why the video views are low with the recent releases.
    Regardless, it's good to see they're doing well with Born to Be ❤

    I think,
    #1. JYP tends to put out MVs for multiple groups at a time, which helps people have a variety of videos on streaming rotation, so all the views count. (If you view a video on nonstop repeat, it cuts off your view count at some point, I believe.)
    #2. The new "trend" is for groups to put out multiple MVs at once. I think this gives listeners the ability to gravitate towards a favorite. This ensures everyone is pleased.
    #3. They probably don't want a repeat of Sneakers, so just in case one of the songs "flops" to some people, they have other chances to make up for it.
    #4. Lowkey, and I'm scared to comment this anywhere 😅😢 but ...I think they're showing us their FULL potential while Lia is absent. She's a great asset to the team & is super talented, but you can TELL all of their choreos are WAY harder this era... and they're learning MULTIPLE super tough choreos at once... and also different versions of them for different awards shows 😮 I just feel like they're pushing out as much of this A+ content as they can while they can. I mean, all of their MVs, especially Born To Be, are very focused on the choreo. Even more so than usual. But that's just my opinion & theory!

    That's not what "buying ads" is. It's companies using the music video as an ad. Like you get the entire music video as an ad on another video. That's how so many of these groups and artists get millions of views. 70%+ of those views you see are actually from ads, aka inorganic

    Honestly i don't think I've felt an itzy comback since loco. The new releases aren't doing it for me at all. Jyp needs to sit up and bring back 2019-2021 itzy.
    I didn't feel any of the comback song except born to be and that was after 3 days.
    I miss my old Itzy 😭💕

      I know 3 million is not low but for itzy, it's pretty low because their former comebacks as done more that that in the first 24 hours. A lot of people lost interest in this comeback.

      I think it's totally fine for you to miss old itzy, but expecting them to continue with the exact same concept throughout their whole career sound a bit... eh...
      After all, if they had in fact stuck to that, a lot of other people would be complaining. It's a lose lose situation. If you don't like their current songs that is fine, but they shouldn't have to change their sound just because parts of the fanbase can't connect with it anymore. I guess I'm lucky that my music taste is so broad.

    Midzys have been screaming about Itzy's mistreatment but people keep downplaying ìt. Compared to other groups that get ads even for pre releases and also they don't put Itzy's pre releases on Spotify compared to other groups. It's insane. Midzys are literally fundraising for ads to promote the girls better. People just see the many mvs and think Itzy gets treated better but in actual fact it's just a gimmick to smooth over Midzys anger. We waited so long to get any form of solo and creative input and now that we have it they don't want to give the girls the same treatment as the other groups?!?!

    yess, i so agree with the too much is overwhelming. when itzy released their 3 songs, i js couldnt keep up. i ended up learning untouchable but it was so chaotic bc I didn't know which h one to listen to. probably why jyp released all of them, so people can listen to all 3 of them. but it'll slowly die down tho

    Imo, ITZY DEFINITELY DID A CLEANSE FROM CHECKMATE UP TO KILL MY DOUBT and they have regained the music that they were originally known for (not to say that all of the songs leading to this album is bad, ALL SONGS IN THE ALBUMS ARE A BOP). Although, the timing of this release doesnt match since there fandom decreased and just now they are getting the right music when they have already weakened😢

    My guess would be not only the amount of content released but also ITZY's regress in popularity. Untouchable is their best release since LOCO but after Sneakers, Cheshire and Cake I feel like many people already gave up on them and didn't bother with getting their hopes up again. Hopefully, if the next comeback continues similiarily to Umtouchable, the views will rise.
    About the amount of content released, I think that a pre-release or two is great. HYLT was more BP's style than Lobesick Girls, it was the IT Girlboss song at the time so I guess it contributed to the disbalance of popularity. But, in most cases, pre-releses make for a nice build up. But I do think some of the releases could be pushed behind the main track. I like how ATEEZ played it out by first realising Crazy Form and then other MV's. Seemsd like a smart strategy.

    ITZY clearly aren't standing in the same position they once were in terms of success but I just don't understand what makes JYP think that releasing more = people will pay attention to them again? They did something similar in their last comeback with Cake and now they did it again releasing 2 mv's for 2 of their newest b-sides AND 4 short mv's for each of the members solos PLUS the tittle track, that's already 7 out of 10 new songs ofc people aren't even gonna bother listening to the album (wich is shame cuz it's actually really good, I feel like this whole era is a return to form for ITZY it really reminded me a lot to their earlier albums wich I loved 😔)

      I saw no point in releasing the members solo songs. They should not have done that. Jyp killed the hype for the album honestly, cause no one would want to listen to to it anymore. They'll feel like they've heard everything.
      Honestly I am still waiting for the day Jyp will release an album that's as good as Guess who,, because that has to be their best album till date. No skips!! Bop from start to finish.

      I can't say I completely agree. Since the solos mvs were really short/not the full song, I do think that would help more than deter people from listening to the album/solo songs specifically. And after the album released on Spotify I've been listening to it a lot... I do think that 3 "mvs" (imo 2 mvs and 1 performance video, and if it had been marketed as such I wouldn't be as annoyed😅) is a bit much.

    As an OG stan of ITZY, they had too many comebacks that disappointed me. So much so, I’ve sadly lost interest and hype in the girls. This isn’t a promotion issue. They should have a solid fanbase already that should carry the views. But like I’ve said, the fans like myself aren’t really there anymore.

    I'm in a small fandom of a group whose company has never bought ads. This past comeback, we didn't even break 100k in 24 hours. On day 3, someone bought ads, and you could see the affect in real time. A few hours later, the MV had grown from 165k to almost 500k.

    I think it's because the songs that itzy releases isn't as good as before or isn't adapting to the changing trends - the themes they have either seem old or poorly executed honestly. I think after Loco it stopped becoming interesting. Yeah I think the number of M/Vs they're releasing also contributes to the relatively low views, because maybe fans don't know which one they should focus on, but it still goes back to the quality of the music. The idols themselves are great, I'm not bashing them but I mean to say their music is just not catchy(?) or not relatable(?) or not as good as their old songs like mafia or not shy etc. I mean look at newjeans, they had a lot of M/Vs/dance practices/whatever performance videos but their views are all much higher than itzy recently. Honestly I think the JYP girl groups are dying out which is rly sad bc Twice got me into kpop

    I was wondering the same thing. I went to check ITZY’s title track, but it doesn’t even feel like one, looking at the view count. I don’t want to sound like privilege, but the last time I checked, they were probably in the top 10 girl groups and everyone loved them, not to say they don’t now. They’re just not the same.       I feel like itzy (like many other groups) depends on international sales and with sneakers......the bait with the crown aesthetic turned off many international fans but they did well in SK. Cheshire charted like 2 weeks at 89. Cake did better , but I feel like summer comebacks do better than winter comebacks and their roll-out was awful: BTB before Christmas, MV after New year and then Untouchable. I find the songs much better and coordinated than Kill My Doubt, but they should have released BTB like early December and promoted it (like NMixx with Soñar) instead of leaving no time in between the songs. Also, they never like NEVER release the pre-rewlise songs as a single. Twice & Nmixx have that, but why not Itzy?

    Fandoms are so obsessed and fixated on MV views, its ridiculous. Views don't mean as much nowadays as it did years ago. Now its more about digital streams and charts and JYPE knows this.
    They'll buy ads for their brand new groups for their debut and a few combacks after that but for a seasoned group like Itzy who already has a massive, solid global fanbase, its not that necessary anymore.
    Untouchable may not have higher views but its still trending worldwide on youtube anyways. That alone speaks volumes about Itzy's popularity.

    Itzy’s comeback strategy is flawed. Itzy always has a follow up comeback if the MAIN comeback of the year is not that successful. Take it with Sneakers last July 2023 and they quickly follow up with Chesire which JYP didnt HYPE as much as Sneakers. Then we got their Major album last year which is Cake that they got massive advertisement then immediately follow up with Born to be which is not as hyped as Cake in terms of advertisement.
    I dunno if this is like their backup to keep ITZY relevant or for the sales but this strategy is making ITZY less and less popular since before fans long for their presence, theres already a new comeback for them.
    Another thing that I am thinking is, ITZY needs to be so active to replace TWICE as twice is taking their sweet rest. Cant just JYP let their idols rest for their next comeback without affecting other groups? Once TWICE become active, they will release album per album while making ITZY rest decently.
    But I maybe wrong since ITZY always get head to head with NMIXX but NMIXX always feel fresh and new with me with the very minimal advertisment. But NMIXX has a lot of teasers as well so they still get a higher up support with JYPE compare to ITZY.
    I dunno, maybe im a bit delulu but we cannot ignore whats happening to ITZY.

    jyp do ads too, I have gotten tons of skz and twice ads (I can't forget how much alcohol free played) but here the problem is not ads, problem is that their popularity is decreasing fr, and I don't like what's happening with itzy rn, lia is not here, solo thing is good but something is lacking, too many music videos become boring, I didn't even like it when newjeans released so many mvs too, yk there is this excitement abt mvs, that excitement fades when a groups releases too many mvs for the album.     One thing is, what they did for the promo actually hurt the title track because it spoiled everything.

    JYP definitely buys ads.. I see it all the time! Their songs are catchy but they don’t hook you, people rarely comeback after the first listen, that’s why their view count is low!

    For me the worst thing about their marketing strategy is that they have not focused only on ITZY, when they were releasing Nmixx material at the same time and now they are going to be promoting at the same time...

    Releasing the albums almost a month later hurts too I get why they do it but it dosent seem smart cause I heard the whole album and bout time for release I was over it

    I hope they take a nice, long break after their world tour, before lia joins for the comeback , I hope they take their time to rest and prepare a good comeback

    The songs they've been releasing lack something. It feels like there's something missing - the bridges do nothing, the verses fall flat. It's simply not interesting. The build-ups are lazy. They're definitely betting on quantity over quality with so many mvs, so much video content, too many challenges and random videos. But in this generation there is already too much too see and consume online... they should keep it simple and more straightforward and try creating a little bit of expectation and longing. The way JYPE is handling it will get us tired of ITZY more and more. They need a strategy change ASAP

    Yes there was a lot at once, i think it all got drowned put together. I actually was too obsessed with mr vampire to go check out untouchable at first lol. I havent gotten around to the solos yet cause now im spamming untouchable

    Because every comeback after Not Shy has been mid af. They’re still in my playlist but they don’t hit the same anymore. They’re all slow burners.

    They thought that doing a lot of pre-releasing of the songs in their upcoming album would hype the comeback but it seems like it didn't that's why the TT was affected

    Thankfully I like GOOD SONGS not views, this is so annoying. As a person whos like unknown or small bugde groups I don't give a single freak about views and if the song have an certain amount of views, kpop fans are so desperate for views and who do better that forget to appreciate the song itself.
    ITZY have been promoted good, people should stop trying make them as everyone else, they a ITZY, good singers and performers, that should be enough.
    "Disappointed" you said, for me it's your feeling that others are been doing better with numbers, when in the end doesn't mean that they are better as artists, all five girls are great artists with great music, y'all are betraying them just for NUMBERS.
    That's why I stop following kpop it's fanbase and people's opinions, no one should have a career base on force views (ads) just to appear them big.
    I'm a pride Midzy, never in my life I would care about some numbers when music is still music.

    Ikr we asked for a comeback but liek it’s too much songs like first bro let them rest they literally broke there necks when they were practicing and after that they had to don slather Mv and practice for that but born to be is my fav song 😂😂😂

    They shouldn't released the mvs so quickly. I noticed XG that in their latest comeback, they released Girl Gvng, New Dance, Puppet show MVs a month apart and gained fairly amount of millions of views.

    I hate pre-releases as it somehow makes me feel disinterested expect bp ones as they have less comebacks. But for a group like itzy i wanted to be a surprise. I don't know but i like it to be a surprise rather watching 2-3 MVs before the actual title track. It makes more sense a title track should be the "Face" of the album or give us actual hint about the album's concept.

    Music wise I don’t find them appealing anymore, imo their newer music isn’t as good as their older songs . I think they’re still a popular group bc 1) They’re from jyp and 2) Their group chemistry is amazing and ppl in general are just more interested in the girls rather than the music they put out
