I've always loved Ben E. King's iconic original - I think he'd have approved of Home Free's rendition. As always, the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are terrific. In their series "From the Vault" (the behind the scenes filming of their videos), you get to see the camera, etc. I often think that the people actually doing the filming must feel like they're herding stray cats. Thanks for playing this & your insights.
This is so very beautiful! Ben E. King would be so proud! The harmonies and beat boxing are excellent. Rob and Austin were both spectacular! Love your reaction!
Very nice reaction! This is my favorite of the remakes HF has done for the 10th anniversary album "As Seen on TV". Ben E. King's classic has never been more perfectly arranged, and here translated into voice-only mastery. The slow section with the call and response is simply beautiful -- with Adam's 5th notes thrown in for some juicy harmony. Thanks for an engaging commentary!
Daniel, best wishes for this next semester bud !! If you like one-shot stuff, check out Home Free's version of One-Man Band, a cover of an Old Dominion song....whole video is one shot and it has some incredible harmonies once again.. Darren Rust does most of their arrangements, but once in a while several of the band members have arranged their video. That ending with all the riffs, is so so so very satisfying to the ear.
Thanks for the reaction & analysis! Love this great classic song from Ben E. King back in 1961. The Home Free guys did an awesome version as always. Love their arrangement on this cover. Great vocal leads by Austin & Rob. Tim's bass really stands out for me in this one. And Adam's tasteful vocal percussion is on point.
One of the songs I have been listening to for as long as I can remember. First the LP, later I always had it on one of my cassette tapes, then I got the CD and in recent years I usually have it on one of my playlists. Although many versions had been released in the meantime, it was usually the version by Ben E. King or Otis Redding. But from now on it is the version of Home Free that is on my playlist and no other. Alternating the lead between Austin's powerful voice and Rob's silky soulful voice just sounds so beautiful and fantastic. Then the unparalleled vocal percussion, truly phenomenal. The incredible bass and beautiful background vocals/harmony are the finishing touch.❤
This is one of my all time favorite songs and Home Free covered it magnificently! It went directly into my top favorites of Home Frees' catalog. It's so beautiful it gives me that feeling where the hair stands up on the back of your head and chills run down your spine. I find myself listening to it over and over again. I always look forward to your reactions because you are so joyful in your reactions and so knowledgeable and interesting.
Love your reactions especially with Home Free, you never miss the intricate little details they add to make each of their performances so very special. Thank you.
So good. Love this! Love the bell tones and yes, the water drops. Love Tim’s lows at the end. I loved the “slowed down” part too. Good one Daniel. You can see some of the parallax camera work if you watch some of the BTS (behind the scenes) videos. I’ve seen it in some other videos. (Can’t remember which ones though). 😃🥰
I truly enjoy this song and knew it was exceptional, just was not knowledgable enough to know why. Thank you for all the great insight in to the camera work, I will pay attention from now on. They are my favorite singers ever and I want to thank you for your reactions to Home Free. I will be looking forward to many more !!
Thank you for a fascinating reaction and analysis! This was like a warm hug for me, they just bring me an inner calm and peace. Just love these boys! ❤ Best of luck in school! #HomeFree
For a fun casual performance, check out Austin Brown and Tim Foust in the backyard, singing My Maria with friends. Tim does the high parts. Also, Tim Foust featured with The Bass Gang on Hooked on a Feeling. Both are just pure fun.
Great reaction! The guys a did a great job on this beautiful classic song 😊 I was wondering what Life Is A Highway video you watched they did 2 of them one was done about 5 years ago and one just a few months ago
I love that they've revived Ben E. King's iconic song for new generations to appreciate it. As always, the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are terrific. I ran across a live video of Tim, Austin & friends singing this in an intimate setting: th-cam.com/video/oYqQqojqyZA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yzCkxddu8Ijh1Qzi. I thought you might like to see & compare the styles (the latter has a guitar & keyboard).
Daniel, I love Home Free & Austin Brown just as much as I love Voice Play & Geoff and Castallucci . Would you please do a reaction video to Geoff's newest solo cover of You Don't Mess Around With Jim & his solo cover of Big Iron. Geoff added several bridges to Big Iron & it is amazing. There is also a video comparing the original & Geoff's version.
2)Since you are playing a guitar you could appreciate a mastery craft of Marcin Patrzalek, he could be referred to Dimash level of the acoustic guitar. He is a composer, producer, makes a great arrangements of classical m.th-cam.com/video/gUarhwho0f8/w-d-xo.html or modern pieces m.th-cam.com/video/3vXJc5SFW-I/w-d-xo.html & also has his own m.th-cam.com/video/4sJKlDAeUgM/w-d-xo.html.

I love this. I think it's one of the best things they've done. Vaulted up to number 2 on my all-time favorites list. Love those bell tones behind Rob.

#HomeFree - Love this new 10th anniversary rendition; it's easily now in my Top 5 covers by Home Free. They just keep getting better and better!

Exactly! Home Free tends to be subtle and so many reactors miss them but not Daniel.
This is my favorite and I’ve heard them all! Just amazing

I was wondering what Life Is A Highway video you watched they did 2 of them one was done about 5 years ago and one just a few months ago
Trivia bit: that building is a quonset hut.
#HOMEFREE......outstanding!
#HOMEFREE
The ending of the song is similar to how old timey radio performers use to end their songs.

You might enjoy the filming/editing of their version of "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On".
