- Here's a long video of our experience when we picked up our 2021 Revel from Lichtsinn RV. They let you spend as much time as you want with one of their techs going over every aspect of the RV. These are complicated, this video has some good tips for new buyers or potential buyers!
This guy is a real Revel electricity expert. I had questions about my Revel but several dealers I asked didn’t know the answers. This guy did
Thanks. I’ve watched this thing at least 3 times getting ready for my ‘21 delivery next week. Recently lost our ‘20 to a car rear-ending us. Also flagged your video to a Revel FB user.
Watching this before our trip renting out a Revel for a week. It is very helpful and you ask very good questions. Thank you for posting it!
By far this is the best informational video on the "how to" use the electrical/solar panel on the Revel. Thank you!!
Great walk through, thanks for sharing! Loads of good reminders.
Great demo! I would really like to see the electronic displays hidden behind a framed, hinged mirror.
This was great to watch with one on order now. Thank you for sharing.
Great walk through presentation. I learned a few things about my Sprinter. Ty
great video, I watched it a few times before I picked up my Revel from Lichtsinn. Now that I have it and learned how it works, I noticed almost everyone explains the Timberland Heating system incorrectly (my Lichtsinn "orientation guy" included):
when either the "burner" (bottom left) or the "e-heating element" (bottom right) icon is on (red), both the cabin and water is heated. there is no need to turn on the water icon (top left) in order to get warm water. The water icon prioritizes water over cabin heat. when turned on, the glycol mix is short-circuit'ed and cut off from feeding the cabin heat exchangers. it only heats the water and therefore can generate more warm water (continuous warm water when both the diesel burner and the e-heat element is on).
I cannot thank you enough for doing this... Awesome
This is the best orientation for the 2021 Revel .
I'm not sure about that- but I wanted to share it for new and prospective owners!
This is a great orientation video with a lot of details... thank you very much for taking and sharing the video.
You're welcome! It's a complicated beast I knew I would forget a bunch of stuff so I decided to capture the moment lol!
Thanks so much for sharing..this ..last Tuesday I got delivery of my Revel, this was very helpful for a refresher…
this is awesome, really appreciate you sharing this. it's so tricky to remember everything all at once. getting mine tomorrow!!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I recorded it because I knew it was going to be too much to process lol. Hope you have a great experience let me know if you have any questions or issues.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED definitely!! Cheers :)
I was thinking of filming when I pick up my Revel next month. Now, I don’t have to worry about it. It was super helpful, thanks!
this is fantastic .. thanks so much. My dealer was terrible about orientation.
Yeah a lot of dealers don't really understand these rigs- Lichtsinn RV has a very good handle on the Revel, they sell hundreds of them
Thanks for doing this. The 2021 was so rare at the dealership we got ours from, the guy giving the orientation had almost no idea how to setup and maintain all the amenities.
Glad you liked it- I had to record it because I knew I would forget a bunch of it. I was pretty impressed with the guy that gave us our orientation, he was confident and obviously knew these rigs well. Enjoy your Revel!!
Jeremy is a star!! ..Hands down, i will buy my Revel from him after watching this!!!!!
He was great to work with and knew the van inside and out!
Thanks for sharing. Extremely helpful
Thanks for watching! Still have the rig and absolutley love it.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED I’m picking mine up on Thursday. Super excited
@@jonnynash364 You will love it! Are you a member of the FB revel page? A ton of info for owners there. We're camping this weekend in it and we have no regrets!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Revel owners & wannabees ? Yes if that’s the page. Thanks for your videos. Great information. Enjoy your trip
@@jonnynash364 Winnebago Revel 4x4 is the group you need to be in.
Thank you for doing this vid.
Thanks for the video! We get our Revel in the spring!
No problem-you are going to love it- it's worth the wait!!
i like your Revel videos. thanks for doing them.. btw What dash cam do you recommend
Loved the vid! just got a 2021 revel from la masa in phoenix with the agile off-road package, kinda pricy but did a great job. there was an app mentioned in the vid for AC, batteries, would you know where to find it for down load to a iPhone? your other vids are great too!
I'm an android guy, the apps I use are "Xantrex Battery" for the batteries, "Carefree Connects" for the awning, and "RV Climate" for the AC. Are you a member of the "Winnebago Revel 4x4" page on FB? They have a ton of resources to download, I think the pre delivery inspection document lists all the ios apps..
This and your video on your add-ons are great! So helpful in the decision making process! I am curious if you flew to the dealership and drove home. If so, how did you line up finances and price before you arrived at the dealership? I am trying to figure out how to best prepare making a trip either to Lichtsinn or other, especially with Covid going on. Would be helpful knowing how to do some of that prep and be prepared to finalize if all goes well on arrival. Thanks!
Glad you liked the video! So yes, we did the deal in July, worked out the price, financing and they emailed a contract that I e-signed. When the van was at the dealership in October I did a wire transfer to their bank, took the flight to the dealership and signed off on everything in person after doing a full inspection of the van. Lichtsinn has a great system and it works pretty painlessly.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Again, thanks for the details!
Thank you so mich for this video!
Really appreciate this video! But was hoping for Li info. No info on the garage batteries? I just got back from my first 2-wk trip and the AC would not work unless connected to shore power; inverter was on. No help from my dealer. I had adog with me and could not do the wineries as the AC would not work and temps were 100.
Next time try turning off the coach main power (located on left side of the van in the back) then turn it back on. See if that kicks it on.
18 dislikes were credit declines. Great job!
I was thinking of buying from them! We’re you happy with the process?
Overall yes- they were good to work with. I found they had competitive pricing and I loved getting a rig with no delivery miles. As this video shows- they really know their vehicles- so many dealers have no clue how these things work, these guys literally know them inside and out, and if you have anything serious you can take it right to the factory to get it resolved before heading home.
Excellent video. I ordered from Lichtsinn on Aug. 11. Still waiting. Not too much longer I hope.
You getting it in January? Pack warm clothes!!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED They sent me a notice maybe beginning of Feb. Supply chain issues. I’ll prepare for the Midwest freezing temps!!
Make sure you stay at least a couple nights at their dealership. Try everything, 4x4, AC, check all power points, use every water outlet, awning.. they will make it right while you wait. Shooter's restaurant is right by the dealership and is not too bad. But cook at least a few meals with the induction!
What about the Xantrax on off where the batteries are in the garage? Do both have to be turned off or just the one in the front?
Great video - very comprehensive. What did you shoot the video with for that extended time period?
Thank you! I just used my Google Pixel 4XL.
Love the orientation. I pick up mine in February. Can you tell me what the deal is with the shower/toilet and what it was that flooded ?
Glad you liked the video! So the little pushbutton for flushing the toilet- it has a small o-ring seal that should keep water from getting behind it- we had heard of a few folks having issues with water getting behind it and it would soak the circuit board and cause the toilet water pump to come on. Ours did exactly that on the first shower- the toilet filled with water and overflowed. The fix is to have them put RTV silicon all around the switch where it snaps in. Since then it has not had an issue!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Thanks for explaining that. I thought the shower somehow flooded the toilet (which, indirectly it did). BTW, that was the most thorough explanation of the water system I have ever seen. I will definitely watch this again when I get mine. Hope you are have lots of fun with the new rig!
Watched again and took notes. The person from Lichtsinn did a great run through. Was he your sales person?
Looking for someone that might specialize in more boondocking knowledge. Recommendations? Thanks again!
No our orientation guy was not our sales person. As for specific boondocking tips they might be able to offer some ideas regarding power and water conservation. Beyond that spending some time watching youtube boondockers will give you the best tips you can get. Harvest Hosts has been a great way to travel all over the country and camp free in some amazing places. Apps like Freeroam, The Dyrt, recreation.gov are great for finding cheap/free campsites.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for this! Very helpful. Was curious... When did you order your van, and how long after was it available for delivery?
I ordered it on July 13th, was told at that time it would be ready on September 28. It moved a couple times- finally picked it up on October 21st. I'm hearing that orders placed now will not be delivered until April or even May.. crazy demand.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED so you paid MSRP on it ?
@@xiaodao2005 I paid $133,052 for my 2021.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED wow, it's good deal! which dealer ? I want to buy one too.
found it in your description. enjoy !!!
I got a 2020 i took that bracket off of the running board and ran that heater exhaust over the top of the running board bracket just incase you hit a rock or something
Not a bad idea, it's kinda vulnerable where it is at from the factory.
Great video. I heard that 20 year financing counts as a tax write off. What is a ballpark price for this? I was looking at the Storyteller Overland but don't like the idea of not having a dedicated shower and bathroom. I love the fact that you can fill the water tank via the pump in the back. Once again great video!
Thanks for the feedback- it's a pretty cool rig. I paid $133,000 for ours back in July when I ordered it, I think winnebago bumped it up to 143,000 or so recently. I'm hoping my Tax guy can help us with it.. find out in a few months lol.
Should be able to write any rv/trailer that has a bathroom/shower regardless of the length of your loan
I wanted to see the sleeping Arrangements and the kitchen
Sorry I didn't get everything, the bed is awesome, it lowers from the ceiling in the back. Kitchen is very simple, has a induction stove and sink.. that's about it!!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED I like those ones that lower from the seal. It shows space in the van
I'll probably do a short term review of the whole van soon, I'll try to show everything!
GREAT VIDEO! We have been doing research and looking at Travato's for a few years and started looking at a Revel because of the Lithium system in the 21. We got to see our first Revel in person a few weeks ago and loved it. For what we are planning on doing a Lithium system is must, as why we were set on the huge Volta system in the Travato. BUT!!! @ 55:45 in this video the you and the Tech were discussing a 3rd lithium battery that could be installed. PLEASE tell me this is true!!! and what do you know about the option. I can not find anything on it.
David- thanks for watching and the comment! The third battery is something the dealership offers (Lichtsinn RV), I was told it was the same as the factory batteries, the cost was roughly $1,600. We opted to skip it, so far we've never ran them down on our boondocking adventures. When it gets warm it will be interesting to see how it handles the AC load. I'm probably going to invest in a Honda generator rather than the third battery to give me a little bit of flexibility.
Multipleshotsfired
Have you had any AC issues?
Dont push the window too far up. It will drop out! Mine did
Yeah that can happen, almost 3 years and never had that issue.
What is the fuel consumption when using the heater? Is there a reservoir in the tank specifically for diesel when using the heater?
About .3 gallons per hour if run continuously. Unless you are down in the teens it's not going to be running 100% of the time. Uses the same tank as the chassis, if the tank level gets to 1/4 tank the heater shuts off automatically to ensure you can fire up your rig..
Sorry, a semi-related question if you don't mind (I just picked up my new Revel in GA a week ago), and especially since I think you're in law enforemennt and so may know (I'm a former career Army officer BTW - thanks for your service): regarding vehicle registration, I must provide the certificate of origin to my local (NH) DMV in order to get it registered. The Revel came with two certificatesd of orign though, and I want to minimize annual registration fees while keeping it all legal. Do you know if I must provide BOTH ceticificates of origin to the DMV (one from Daimler, one from WBO), or can I just provide the one for the chassis? This info will of course then be used for the titile. I know you're in TN and states may differ, but I thought I would ask since you're just a few months ahead of me. Thanks for any advice on your experience with this.
Not sure what state your in- I guess it would depend on the DMV there. In TN I supplied them with the paperwork from the dealership, which shows it as a Winnebago. It would be interesting if your state would accept the cert. of origin showing it as a Sprinter van. Seems reasonable as it's not some big diesel pusher with sliders lol. You are partially correct- former LEO here, thank you for your service to your country and enjoy your rig!!
We take delivery of our new Revel in late April from Lichtsinn rv and we can’t wait to customize it. Agile off road and Owl are going to love us.. 👍👍👍👍🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐
See ya on the road or at Revel meet up..
Dave
That is awesome- the wait is the hardest part.. we were going crazy as it got closer. The good thing was watching videos and getting ideas- it makes it much easier. You can have all your stuff shipped to Lichtsinn and then load it up right there, we did that with a bunch of stuff. Revel meet up sounds great!!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED .... We are having L - Track shipped in so they install it for our Mountain bikes. There are many trails to
ride back east and it’s the safest way to travel in these crazy times. 👍👍👍🚐🚐🚐🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️
wonderful
Was the price negotiable? I've been researching on the storyteller, and the prices are set per Overland. However, I've been seeing online some Revels are 20 percent off the listed price.
Absolutely- RV's are generally always negotiable, often with large discounts over the published price. When I bought mine last year the price listed on the RV Dealer's website was $180,000, when I worked with the salesperson I was able to get it for about $133,000. Things are a little different now, the demand for RV's is at an all time high so many dealers are not moving as much.. but shop around!
Thank you for the info.
You’re correct. No RV dealers are giving discount on Storytellers.
got it, thanks
You're welcome.
Do you only turn on the inverter for running the AC when not powered, or do you turn it on to make coffee, etc?
Anytime you need to use the outlets for anything you'll need the inverter on. I actually leave it on all the time. When I am home it's plugged in to shore power.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED when driving ? I am leaving Las Vegas now for 300 miles home on my first drive, other than Walmart, lol nervous lol
I have mine turned on all the time, including driving! Join the Revel 4x4 facebook group- they have tons of great resources there!!
How has nobody commented that you sound exactly like Seth Rogen??? BTW I have this same rig.. its dope!
LOL yeah I guess I do have a bit of Seth in my voice, never noticed it lol. These rigs are pretty fricken awesome, glad you are enjoying yours!
Congrats, man!
Thank you! We had to wait a few months but it was worth it!
If you turn off the water pump while sleeping, can you still use the toilet and put water in it? Dumb question?
Yep you can use the toilet without the water pump- it will not pump water to flush it so you can either turn the pump on, or use a bottle of water to rinse the bowl into the cassette.
Cool!!
Thanks for posting. Did they review the Sprinter control center with you?
They did- I didn't capture everything, it was a very complete orientation.
are all Revel models 4 wheel drive
That is correct, 4x4 only.
Sweet
How much did you pay for your revel?
When I ordered it in July I paid $133,052.00
Neighbor got his Revel for $105,000 :) HE waited for THEM to make it right price!
Can you add a 3rd lithium battery for longer A/C run time?
You can, the dealer offered to do it for $1,600. I elected to use that to buy a Honda EU2200 generator.
I don't mean for this to come off the wrong way but.. why was nobody wearing masks? Looks like you guys are indoors and definitely within 6ft, especially when everyone was inside the van.
At the time this was shot (Oct 2020) there was no state or local requirement for masks. And no issues to report as a result.
It came off wrong.
How much do I have to pay out the door? 120k reasonable?
I paid 133k for mine in October, since then Winnebago has increased the price (probably due to demand- these things are selling like crazy now) I think the best deal I've seen on a new 2021 now is 146k and they won't deliver until June. I would keep an eye out for used ones or wait a few months, when demand drops.
Cool
Nice unit, but the price is profiteering
I paid 133k.
Too funny.. my AC in my van can go for days.. 800/solar.. AC internal…
That is too funny!!
SAID COOL 840 TIMES WOW THATS COOL
Cool when you post with all caps. Seriously, cool.
“I overthink things.” No, you don’t. But you don’t stop to listen! “Cool. O.K.,O.K. Yeah, O.K. That’s cool. Really? Sure. Yeah. Awesome. Cool. That’s Cool.” All of those interjections in 15 seconds, a national record. Contrast: Your wife, who doesn’t need every phrase or sentence repeated four times, because she LISTENS.
Cool comment! Thanks for taking the time to offer some critical feedback- coming from a user with no videos or any type of examples it's pretty much worthless but I'm honored you felt the need to post such a snarky comment!!
