- Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is the best book on the reality of life and it is extremely important to go through it at least once in life. When I started reading the Bhagavad Gita, I found it very difficult to understand because of the language and multiple purports online. However, when I actually started to read it in peace without referring to biased explanations, it sounded very practical, easy, and simple to me. Though Shri Krishna does say some deep stuff hidden in simple words at times, but it is always worth struggling to understand.
This video is about the beginning of the Bhagavad Gita. Though the beginning of the Mahabharat war is actually the Bhagavad Gita. Let us not confuse the two. This is the part where Arjun and Shri Krishna start to talk about the war and Sanjay narrates it to King Dhritrashtra. Here, we come across the natures of Duryodhan, Arjun and many other characters from the Mahabharat. This set of Shlokas set the beginning of the complete discussion in the upcoming 18 chapters of the Bhagwad Gita.
To start with, Krishna ji starts to confuse Arjun with the thoughts of fighting his own blood relatives and there starts the whole discussion about the Karma, dharma and other aspects of spirituality and Parmatma which are taken up in the upcoming chapters.
