I love you tom. I was there for you when you were made, when the intruder almost ended you, when Sara was kidnapped, and by god i was there when CN screwed up and removed you. Your anime's will always be in my heart (especially sailor moon, DBZ, and Outlaw Star)
Hey does anyone remember when TOM2 used to say "Until the sun rises on a day without Toonami, we remain the first and still the best" Bet when he said that none of us thought that day would ever come huh? Sad that it did... RIP TOM, SARA, & TOONAMI
it's been 3 hours and I'm still in shock. It's hard to believe it's really over. I watched this block for nine years and I treasure every memory. R.I.P. Toonami. We'll miss you dearly.
you've got to be kidding me!! First off I was a preteen girl when toonami first aired and I loved it. I remember getting mad whenever the school bus got stuck in a snowdrift on the way home from school cause it meant I'd miss Johny Quest! secondly I think a lot of disney and nick shows have turned into teen romance dramas, so what does that leave guys to watch??
Truer words have never been spoken. Wish more folks recognized Toonami's significance in the anime industry as you eloquently as you did. Looks like somebody else is digging both Toonami and the WWE soundtracks. Most impressive video indeed!
Every time I saw Tom during a commercial, I'd get an inexplicable childhood emotion of anticipation and euphoria. I was too young to remember many details, but I still feel waves of nostalgia looking at this video.
wow this brings back alot of memories. I use to race home from school to watch toonami. I used to watch all these shows and whenever they'd feature a movie on Fridays, if I remember correctly. Anyway this really takes me back, thanks.
nice tribute and a perfect song to show off the evolution of the show.....and perfect timing considering it's not dead as of 2 wks ago.......RIP Toonami, you will most certainly be missed
dude i was their when toonami first broadcast literaly the first broadcast i did'nt know what to make of it at first then i got hooked and stayed hooked. Toonami March 17, 1997-Spetember 20, 2008..Toast the good times..R.I.P
Ughh I'm getting soo nostalgic right now.. It really does suck that Toonami had a downfall and is ended now. So many great memories with shows that I love and will always remember. There will always be a place in my heart for Toonami. :)
I miss this so much...when it started i was so little, only 3, so i don't remember much. but i do remember when i got a little older and DBZ, Gundam, and all the other great shows were on. but there are still a lot of things i don't remember. i miss my early childhood, highschool is good and all but the back than was the best time EVER! :(
there goes some of the happiest years of my life, I regret not recording the old toonamis without Toonami Cartoon Network is nothing anymore, it's so sad
thank for making this i may have been 3 or 4 when toonami started but i remember the good time of cn with the awesome show and great host but all good things must come to an end sadly
You're 10 years old, you turn to Toonami in your living room, nothing but the TV illuminating your face. You experience the epicness that is Tom and the anime that he hosted. For years it is a part of your life... ...then it's gone.
We will always remember. Toonami was the core of my childhood. I grew up with toonami, and toonami grew up with me. To all the Toonami Faithful, keep it real.
i watched toonami since i was little the day i was born was when toonami first aired and i watched it for so long i just miss seing tom he made me relise that all hope is not lost :(
ok so ive been a toonami lover from the beginning. in fact my very first real tv show was gundam wing and i think my life is till influenced by it to this day. this is a magnificent video paying a tribute to one of the all time classics of television. there was one thing missing though. idk if its just me but there was one time when toonami was a green pixelated video game character playing through a level in a sidescroller format. i does anyone else remember this?
Oh god I remember this! My freakin childhood! I even took part in the voting of the new engines of the ship! That storyline arc of the death of the first TOM was so epic for me and being able to participate by playing their game online and being part of the defense of the ship... god damn, god damn... there are no words.
HELL YEAH!!!! Now that was damn good TV!!! The man that ever brings back the good stuff will be a hero to an entire generation. The followers of the teachings of Toonami!!
I was there at the get go, but I was sans cable at the time. My friends hooked me up whenever they could though, via VHS tapes of wholesome Toonami goodness. Hell, Justice League was once just a CN show that came on whenever it liked until it was moved to Toonami, permanently! "Seeing my reflection change, nothiing ever stays the same, but you know the name's the game." And now it's gone, but I'll NEVER forget!
i dont remember much of it either.. all i remember was watching superfriends on it.. i barely remember moltar.. but after watching so many old bumpers, i seem to regain some memory
Wow... I can't believe the mind behind The X Bridge was not only able to find this video, but commented as well! I feel truly honored. (BTW: I'm working on "Revolution 11" right now)
God I Miss Toonami, you sir have done a great tribute to this once glorious culture shock, it shook our little minds that our world was not just america, but also was Japan, and we could reach out to older and foreign cartoons, toonami brought us joy and hope and a reason to stay up way past the midnight run. Now here we are today watching our younger siblings droning themselves with poorly written things they throw on T.V. completely missing the values tought by the shows on Toonami.
that was awsome they should have done something like that for the final broadcast of toonami not just the regular stuff but maybe a marathon or something.
i remember these days i miss watching kenshin, coming home from school turning on toonami and watching dragonballz, missing the days of where i watched coop fly his robot, and gundam wing, also when cartoonnetwork was spelled out instead of cn but i think the most part i miss is the songs like my best friend plank and the one where the eds were small and in saras doll house =( i wish they would go back to those days =(
I remember logging onto Toonami website when Original tom was under attack, i played the game to save him so much, and they had a I Rember when i saw Tom 2 on premiere night, Bricks were shat. Tom 2 was awesome.
my dad had got me started on toonami when i was little and i started my younger brother on it. but now i'm completely ticked with cartoon network for taking it off the air. i really miss it
i grew up watching Toonami all the time as a kid cause it's my childhood for me to begin with to enjoy Japanese anime like Dragon ball Z,Voltron,Sailor Moon,Ronin Warriors,Outlaw Star,Tenchi Muyo,yu yu hakusho,Rurouni Kenshin,Zatch Ball,Naruto and the entire fucking list goes on until in 08 it's was canceled and alot of anime fans were like "NO FUCKING WAY THAT WON'T EVER HAPPENED!!!!!" but there's nothing to worry about that now cause it's back.
Born in 89, I was along for most of Toonami's glorious ride. Though about 2 years after it went Saturday only I moved up to Adult Swim (back when that was still good), so I didnt experience the 4th Tom or its tragic end. Now I just get my anime from the internet. Not only did the fans get their hearts ripped out, but the US anime industry lost a prime (direct and/or indirect) source of income, and even more to fansubs.
Same age, same situation...it's awesome that they apparently brought back Toonami (finally), but without high quality shows to put on it it just won't be the same...
Toonami....how I miss you so.... Made me remember all the old shows it brought to me, quite sad... D: BRING TOONAMI BACK! It would be epic if they every did, but alas, they won't....
Its so weird, it feels like it was only yesterday I would watch toonami but at the same time it seems like it was years ago. Its disheartening to know its all gone...
That brought tears to my eyes, those were the best years of my childhood in a few short minutes. Thanks OP
Metal and anime...can't go wrong. Long live Toonami and Motorhead (RIP Lemmy).
R.I.P. Lemmy.
I love you tom. I was there for you when you were made, when the intruder almost ended you, when Sara was kidnapped, and by god i was there when CN screwed up and removed you. Your anime's will always be in my heart (especially sailor moon, DBZ, and Outlaw Star)
Yes Outlaw Star IS a great show!!
This is a great video and I really appreciate it. Good job. You paid great homage to this amazing show.
Hey does anyone remember when TOM2 used to say
"Until the sun rises on a day without Toonami, we remain the first and still the best"
Bet when he said that none of us thought that day would ever come huh?
Sad that it did...
RIP TOM, SARA, & TOONAMI

wow. you really got all the classics in this video. really great stuff, its just so sad to see it go.
you've got to be kidding me!! First off I was a preteen girl when toonami first aired and I loved it. I remember getting mad whenever the school bus got stuck in a snowdrift on the way home from school cause it meant I'd miss Johny Quest!

Thank for summarizing my childhood in 3 minutes and 38 seconds. Hats off.
wow this brings back alot of memories. I use to race home from school to watch toonami. I used to watch all these shows and whenever they'd feature a movie on Fridays, if I remember correctly. Anyway this really takes me back, thanks.
No words can express my sadness, grief, remorse, and anguish.
nice tribute and a perfect song to show off the evolution of the show.....and perfect timing considering it's not dead as of 2 wks ago.......RIP Toonami, you will most certainly be missed
Hi I am tom, and this song was playing at our going away party, with every anime character we showed on our program. Thamks for the support.
I remember watching zoids new century zero the most

Ah, Toonami. I've been watching since I was 3...10 years later, still love it...
I will cry. I'm not even kidding. This was a huge part of my childhood. Heck, this WAS my childhood.
Long live Toonami!! You were my gateway to more anime than anything else in this world. Goodbye and Rest in Peace! ♥♥♥

I'm gonna have to go and say thank you for making this. Without Toonami I wouldn't know what anime is, and wouldn't be the otaku I am today.
If you made this then I will eternally be grateful and in your debt... If not, thanks fror posting it anyways... I miss it already...
Ughh I'm getting soo nostalgic right now.. It really does suck that Toonami had a downfall and is ended now. So many great memories with shows that I love and will always remember. There will always be a place in my heart for Toonami. :)

man my childhood memories just flashed before me with this vid
Great video. I grew up with Toonami and I'm sad to hear that it's gone. Mind you it wasn't what it used to be anyway so perhaps it's for the best.

And on April 1st, 2012 Toonami came back to us all! One Life, One Love, Only TOONAMI!
You're 10 years old, you turn to Toonami in your living room, nothing but the TV illuminating your face. You experience the epicness that is Tom and the anime that he hosted.
For years it is a part of your life...
...then it's gone.
All those anime you mentioned still kick ass today.
good times i STILL reemember me watching the Thundercats the day of that christmas evening, my whole family..good times
There are no words to express my grief right now
We will always remember.

wow I seriously forgot about this guy, man oh man is this old.
I saw Moltar on a promo for toonami, on regular brodcast television. I watched Toonami during the Tom Generations when we got cable though.
I was there at the get go, but I was sans cable at the time. My friends hooked me up whenever they could though, via VHS tapes of wholesome Toonami goodness.
Hell, Justice League was once just a CN show that came on whenever it liked until it was moved to Toonami, permanently!
