I think it’s great how content has evolved to something completely different. And I am definitely going to build this deck so I have to talk to the people at my LGS and can’t be so antisocial and shy
This inspired me to make my own variant using Queen Marchesa as the commander. Definitely going for that "benevolent ruler on the front and backstabbing schemer on the back" kinda strategy.
I am definitely taking notes for my Dihada based deck with sol'kanar the tainted as the commander, this feels close to how I want that deck to function
I have a deck that plays similar to this Bolas deck except it lacks red. The commander is Circu, Dimir Lobotomist & I will play effects which can strip cards from my opponent's decks such as Praetor's Grasp, Thada Adel, Acquisitor & Rootwater Thief. I usually counter something or kill something which was going at another player. I then leverage the fact that I helped save them, so they should let me plunder their deck lol. Meanwhile, each time I cast a blue or black spell my commander exiles the top card of each player's deck. Then no other player can cast spells that share names with exiled cards. Also, Telepathy is a 1 mana enchantment that makes everyone reveal their hands. This is the best card to cause finger pointing.
That was a beautifully played game. My favorite deck has a similar gameplan, but in Bant. Most games are decided on razor thin margins and results in great games.
I know this was probably just one instance in a whole legacy of strategic choices... But I gotta admit I damn near lost it at the mention of ''become The POLITICS GOD" from the person that brought you such a memorable strat as: ''We should be friends!" "You cursed me!" "Yeah if you see it that way, sure, but it's an *enchantment*!" "Okay... So if we're friends what do I get out of this?" "You get... something later." XD
I love this deck because my playgroup is very spiky and doesn't leave a lot of room for politics-based cards. I think this style of control would be very very fun into that. I might just change the commander to Sauron the Dark Lord, Giver of Gifts :)
I love your deck and this playstyle but imo it has very little in common with Bolas ; p You know, he's not that kind of a villain - he could offer you a contract with unlimited power (his help) but without playing anybody's friend... :D
Ah yes, "Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss" the deck XD. It was fun seeing you play Rebell, nice win.

Roleplay will save your life, literally suchhhh a vibe for a deck!!!!!!!!!
Also controlling the players is . Banger
That is some good advice! I gotta play this next time I visit the LGS.
Oh wow it’s YaBoi and Ted!
@@RebellLily Happy Holidays from me and pizza rat, and Ted says Happy Holidays to

Why did I never think of this? Big spells and politics in EDH are my brand! I gotta see if I can sprinkle these into some decks.

This is such great timing. Building my ezio out as a political deck that steals the win and needed inspiration. Thnx for the starting point
Very interestingggg which one?? The Ub or wubrg

It was fun watching you absolutely destroy Rachel
Have you updated your list with Orcish Spy yet?

@RebellLily what's so funny? It's an attacker to trigger Curse of Opulence multiple times, it's basically new Dockside
This is great!
Love Nicol Bolas! 🎉
I can be the god pharo? Cool :]
After finishing the video I think this deck would lead to memorable games, so it's probably a good EDH deck.
2m in and *so hype!*
The thing I always think about parasite decks is that if they don't work aren't you just king making?
But if you completely judo-flip blow out the archenemy and get a sick W, isn't that awesome?
hmm maybe this is what my parnesse deck should become....
Lmao that's litterally how I play every game, (except with my actual Bolas tribal archenemy deck). Am I the Bolas?
I love your deck and this playstyle but imo it has very little in common with Bolas ; p
