What kind of wood do you use? And did you have to paint it black?

Hi Andrea, the wood I used was hornwood. It is a nice dark colour already and i did not need to paint it black. The reason I wanted to paint my aquarium black is that it just looked better in my opinion and fitted in nicely with the theme of the room.
