Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon (Commonly known as Madame Guyon - 13 April 1648 - 9 June 1717) is Christianity’s best-known and most influential woman in church history. She was a celebrated French Mystic, and one of the greatest Christian leaders of all time.
She was accused of advocating Quietism, which was considered heretical by the Roman Catholic Church. Madame Guyon was imprisoned from 1695 to 1703 after publishing the book A Short and Very Easy Method of Prayer. The foundation of her Quietism was laid in her study of St. Francis de Sales, Madame de Chantal, and Thomas a Kempis. At age 16, she married Jacques Guyon, a wealthy man of weak health, 22 years her senior. Her public career as an evangelist of Quietism began soon after her widowhood.

She was persecuted by The Church for this form of prayer. They would lose fewer people if their mystics were not obscured. Growing up Catholic I knew nothing about this contemplative, heart-centered devotion..
Your voice, my mess of a overstimulated anxious and agitated mind brought me to tears... surrendering to the deep forgiveness and compassion that God has for us seems so hard when we build these walls around ourselves that cur us from seinf that the internal is the external, just live the moon mirrors the earth...May all sentient beings cease seld imposed suffering.

Hello! As usual my thanks and blessings on your work, is beautiful and very helpful for all people. I do this meditations in spanish, where i read what i learn here. To do it i usually translate my self this text so i can share it on my native language. As i go through the text that i found on Internet Archive, i see that the excerpts are actually phrases very apart one from the other (very well picked may i say), and my question is if this editions is yours or your are reading a different version from the one i found. Ether way ill read exactly what you read, as it has taken me to a beautiful place of recollection that helped me in difficult times.

I would be more than happy to provide you with some names or a compilation of quotes if you have any interest in those types of topics. I do this out of no more than wanting to share such profound spiritual teachings to others. I find that we in the Christian west often lack the beauty that the Christian east has kept up for millennium. God bless.
