This firearm is excessively priced, and I am unsure why Kimber set it so high. The Kimber Stainless Longslide 6" in 10mm runs at about a third of the Jagare’s cost while delivering excellent performance. You might also look into other notable 10mm 1911s such as the Girsan Witness2311 6" (15-round), Girsan MC1911 S Hunter 6" (8-round), Girsan Influencer X 5" (9-round), Rock Island Armory PRO Ultra Match 6" HC “Big Rock” (16-round), Iver Johnson Golden Eagles 6" (non-ported), and Tanfoglio Gold Match 6" (13-round). Among these, however, Dan Wesson’s Kodiak and Bruin stand out as the best longslide 6" 10mm 1911 options, and they cost roughly two-thirds of what Kimber asks for the Jagare. I also agree that porting at the muzzle is unnecessary; it is a needless design choice. Regarding Glock’s older 17L with the “coffin” ports, I am pleased to see Glock release the G17 Gen 5 MOS without them. That was an excellent decision.
